The ISSA offers great opportunities for cultural exchange and the promotion of the values of sportsmanship
Throughout the week, players from different backgrounds enjoyed their passion for basketball together and showed respect and friendship in all its glory
The support of the spectators was vital Both the families and our cheerleaders, big and small, gave their all in every game There were cheers for all sides, demonstrating how inclusive the competition was Everyone had an amazing time thanks also to the lively atmosphere made possible by our beloved EISB mascot, George
We would like to express our gratitude to the host families as well whose kindness makes tournaments such as these possible, creating enduring relationships and valuable experiences
Another incredible ISSA Basketball Tournament has come to an end, and we look forward to future events where the values of harmony and sportsmanship will be fostered See you next year!

International francophonie and French language day
By Ms Carole Bouget, French Department CoordinatorBonjour! This day celebrates Francophone culture and the French language across the globe
Francophonie's Day is a fun event at our school where students participate in activities that highlight French language and culture Through engaging in literary readings and gastronomic experiences, students are fully submerged in the abundance of Francophone traditions Students gain knowledge of the various cultures of French-speaking nations through seminars and presentations, which promotes intercultural understanding.
The Primary Year 3 students who are starting to learn French this year have chosen their favourite word and have written it in a speech bubble. By putting all the bubbles together we have ended up with lots of new, fun and interesting words.
Primary Year 4 students have been working on the different French-speaking countries and each one has chosen a country to read about and draw its flag. Thanks to the work of all the 4th graders, they were able form and collaborate in the making of the title of the week "la francophonie".
For our Primary Year 5 pupils we wanted to turn the francophonie week into a learning game. To do this, the pupils created the game of the 26 Frenchspeaking countries based on the famous game of the 7 families. Each pupil created 6 cards for their country and described its capital, geographical location, currency, inhabitants, etc. It was a pleasure to see them playing together with their own creations and most from each other.
In Secondary and Baccalaureate we have taken advantage of the fact that the French capital is hosting the Olympic Games this summer to learn more about Paris: its monuments, La Seine, La Cérémonie d'Ouverture and we have also worked on the French language through sports and its values. Also, Secondary Year 1 students, together with their Arts class, drew the Olympic Games mascot!
Primary Year 6 pupils have been working in pairs to present and talk about their chosen French speaking country. They have worked hard and gathered all the information they needed to present their work in front of their classmates and show them everything they have learnt about unknown
It has see them enhance their knowledge.

Open Mind Days 2024
By Communications DepartmentThe Open Mind Days project was born from a suggestion made by some Baccalaureate students. They shared with us the idea of having some days in which the students would choose, based on their interests, their participation in different talks. Of course, we thought it was a very interesting idea, even more so given that it was coming from our students, so we started to work on it right away
SOLIDARITY RACE
Saturday 27th April
OPEN MIND DAYS
The aim is to organise a series of conferences that provide our educational community with enriching insights, impressions and experiences that go beyond the purely academic sphere Covering topcis as diverse as the working worlds, personal experiences, health and wellbeing, future prospects or sustainable development, these talks are designed to offer different perspectives and approaches The main idea is to open the mind to different points of view that allow us both to deepen our self-knowledge and to better understand the world we live in and towards which we are heading
Together with a series of workshops and activities, this project will give the students the opportunity to enjoy and learn from the experiences of the parents of our school. A community that has been exceptionally responsive to this proposal and has thrown itself into making it a unique and very special experience.

EISB Alumni Gathering 2024
By Mr Sergio Mairal, Baccalaureate CoordinatorWe are delighted to be soon reuniting with our EISB Alumni
The EISB Alumni Gathering 2024 will take place next 25 April at 7pm in the school
Also, on this occasion, Pep Marí will be presenting his talk "WHY PEOPLE COMMIT (OR NOT!)" , exploring in depth "THE COMMITMENT EQUATION" This talk will inspire us with valuable insights and reflections on how to be committed in our lives, whether leading teams or pursuing our life goals
Why did we ask our Alumni to attend? To get inspired and listen to advice on how to lead their teams, achieve their personal goals and, certainly not least, to enjoy a cocktail party all together at the end, where we can meet again and share unique moments.
We look forward to seeing all our Alumi on 25th April!

We celebrated a very important event in our school on the 5th of March. This event, which is considered to be one of the most relevant academic events, featured the oral presentations of the research papers selected as finalists for one of the most prestigious awards in our school. Each presentation was a display of dedication, skill and passion for research. The topics covered ranged across diverse areas of knowledge, from the sciences to the humanities, showing the breadth and depth of their talents.
After the presentations, the jury retired to deliberate, while the audience awaited the final verdict with great interest. Finally, the winner was announced. This event was also a great opportunity to foster and nurture the research spirit among the younger generation, with Secondary students attending to be motivated and prepared for when their chance comes up. We are proud of all the participants and look forward to future editions of this event, which will undoubtedly continue to inspire generations to come.
Study Trips to Berlin & Geneva
By Ms Maria Cassina and Ms Mª Alba Camps, International Relations DepartmentInspiring GENEVA Secondary Y2 BERLIN
Secondary Y4
Tschüs Berlin!
What a week we had in Berlin with our Secondary Year 4 students The weather was very kind to us and we were able to walk the length and breadth of this calm and fascinating city The students were able to delve deeper into the significance of 20th Century History and will now use this to develop their Investigation Projects
This year we returned to Geneva with a group of 75 students and 8 teachers Lucky enough to be accompanied by sunny weather, everyone was able to enjoy such emblematic visits as the United Nations headquarters and International Amnesty, among others.
Among some of the more serious moments, we were also able to have some fun at the Spy Museum and at the Olympic Stadium All in all a fantastic time was had by everyone
The Red Cross Museum has been a great discovery for our students in terms of its history and the great work they do around the world They also visited the Olympic Museum in Lausanne where they not only learnt about why the Olympic Games are held around the world but also about the importance of fair and honest competition that knows no borders All in all, a very educational trip and an experience they will surely remember for the rest of their lives
Secondary Year 1 - Exchange to Lyon
By Ms Mª Alba Camps, International Relations DepartmentWe conclude this exchange, which began with the visit of the French school Collège Les Chartreux - Saint-Charles in November to our school, with our students travelling to the home of their corresponding exchange partners in Lyon This was the first school trip away from home in Secondary and they were accompanied by their teachers Mr Étienne Pomerleau, Ms Gemma Solé and Mr Marc Ballester The students were not only able to see the French school in situ, but also to visit interesting places such as the Musée des Confluences, a museum of natural history and societies, the Chocolaterie de la Toque Blanche where they were able to observe the chocolate process from its harvesting to the final production that we see in the shops, a boat trip on the Saöne River, as well as several other guided visits to the beautiful city of Lyon It goes without saying that all of this took place in a totally French-speaking context, which allowed our students to put to the test, practise and expand their knowledge of the language with the French families who so warmly welcomed them They are delighted with the experience and are eager to continue learning with their school trips abroad
Tilburg & Kingston Exchange-Secondary Y3
By Ms Mª Alba Camps, International Relations DepartmentWe come to the end of March with the return of our Secondary Year 3 exchange students. On the one hand, one group have enjoyed the customs and traditions of the Netherlands, with their visits to the cities of Rotterdam and Amsterdam, the end of their Synthesis Project work on sustainable cities in the Netherlands and spending time with their Dutch families.
On the other hand, another group of students visited London's Southbank, the Docklands Museum and the city of Kingston. And for a better understanding of English culture, they have attended an introductory class to English sports as well as a Food Technology workshop.
All in all, a very positive experience in terms of an immersion into the customs and culture of these two English-speaking countries to which they will surely return one day.

Ski Week - Primary Y3 and Y4
By Mr Alex Parera, Ski CoordinatorPrimary Year 3&4 have had the best ski week of the last 3 seasons! Who would have thought it a few weeks ago! We enjoyed some fantastic days, with unbeatable snow conditions and a great atmosphere between pupils and teachers that made these days unforgettable
We had a large number of newbies who were putting on skis for the first time The atmosphere was a mixture of nervousness and excitement It was spectacular to see their evolution over the week, and they treated us to a real exhibition on the last day in the slalom What speed, they looked like experts! And what to say about the more advanced skiers, who, with a refined style, surprised us with a remarkable improvement in their technique
But it doesn't end there They had a great time with the afternoon activities: tubbing simulating Formula 1; the traditional sledging with guaranteed laughs; snow games; "geocaching": a treasure hunt for real explorers or snowmobiling with a sledge And all of this was topped off with a delicious hot chocolate or the "berenar de pastor", delicious sausages freshly made on the bonfire
But it wasn't just an endless stream of frenetic activities! We have also had time to enjoy board games, chatting with friends, painting, spectacular ping pong games or competitions such as "Got Talent" in which the students demonstrated their theatrical and dancing skills, and the long-awaited "Pyjama Party" on the last night They just can't get enough!
And what do we value most about this experience? Well, that over the course of these days we have managed to make our students more autonomous when it comes to organising their own things, getting dressed, taking showers We are happy to see how they have put the "screens" aside for a while and have dedicated themselves to getting to know each other, to talk a lot more and to create stronger bonds of friendship And, of course, they have been able to work on overcoming their fears and strengthening their self-esteem, because the greatest source of personal satisfaction has been to see that with hard work they can succeed
For all these reasons, this week has become an unforgettable experience that we are sure they will want to repeat We look forward to seeing you next year!
Centre d'Apropament a la Natura
By Ms Lyn McBride, Infant School CoordinatorThe kids had an amazing day exploring the natural world and being surrounded by a wide variety of creatures
There were plenty of amazing things to see, from the majestic deer strolling across the fields to the magnificent iguanas soaking in the sun Their desire to see every animal, from the heavy tortoises to the imposing eagles, was evident on their faces But even despite the happy emotions, there were moments of fear when some of the FY3 children came into contact with the snakes, which caused a mixture of interest and awe
All in all, the kids were excited about the chance to interact directly with the animal kingdom and make lifelong memories, and, as we can see, it was a great experience!

3 Reservamos esas 4 mitades
