ootball parties are fun! I read recently that Super Bowl Sunday is the second most celebrated day in America annually. In a house with four little boys, and my hubby, sports are constantly on at least one of the TV’s. I wanted to create a simple table for our friends and family to enjoy. It needed to be budget conscious, fast, and look good! I quickly created a Super Bowl XLIX backdrop that can be printed at Staples for about $4 as an engineer print. You can download it on the blog today! I grabbed a plastic table cloth (the only time I am ever ok with a plastic table cloth is for football parties), some football paper plates and cups, and napkins from Target. I used my Foodadz to help make clean up a breeze. We served sliders, veggies, buffalo chicken dip, chips, and sweets. I frosted Rice Krispie treats and carefully put laces on them for a little more football fun. Gatorade, Coke, and beer were served in a plastic bowl from the Dollar Tree embellished with a little vinyl. I grabbed a few of the kids footballs and set them on the table and it was done! Would You Like to Build a {Cookie} Snowman?
I
n our family, we like any reason to throw a party, so as my daughter is still crazy about Frozen and currently has a crush on Olaf, I decided to host a “Do you want to build a {cookie} Snowman?” workshop, for no reason whatsoever, except to get all her friends together and dress up as Princess Elsa! The girls all turned up looking simply darling and spent the morning decorating snowman cookies, making them look like Olaf. The event was rounded off with “Melted Snowman’ water to drink, cupcakes, snowflake sparkly rings and then a big sing-song of “Let it Gooooo” all together. “Warm hugs” were given throughout and all the mommies got involved too, which was lovely to watch.

Valentine’s Day Celebration
V
alentine’s Day a day to celebrate the love we have for our spouse, children, family, and friends. Every year I do something just for my two sons; a Valentine’s craft party or a Valentine’s breakfast. This year I went with a Valentine’s picnic and they loved it. I set out a table with some desserts: cupcakes with heart cupcake toppers that I made, cookies, jello in push pop containers, and some strawberry yogurt shooters. The picnic area was set up with a mini gable box that held a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and some fruit in a little cup. Those cups were my inspiration for the color palette, aren’t they the cutest? My boys look forward to our celebration as soon as I change the calendar to February and I look forward to putting it all together for them. Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!

Valentine, you’re plane awesome!
I
was recently shopping the Dollar Spot at Target, and I found an awesome paper airplane game. It comes with 8 planes (and directions) and a runway, for a dollar!! Immediately, I knew I wanted to have a Valentine, you’re plane awesome tag to attach to it. After a few unsuccessful attempts to draw a paper airplane, I asked Donna from SwishPrintables for help. In no time at all, she had the most perfect printable tag designed for the paper airplane game. She was kind enough to design three different colors and they will be available as free Valentine’s Day printables on our blogs. Valentine’s Day Date Love is in the air, and the stores are filling up with festive Valentine treats & decorations. This year I planned a simple, kid-friendly Valentine party. Complete with free printables, yummy treats, and nofuss table decor. Here are my tips for throwing a budget-friendly kids’ Valentine party! Tip 1: Make your plates, and drinking cups low maintenance. I like using plastic plates & cups, or even paper ones, whenever possible. Not only does it help with any potential spilling accidents, but they’re easier for the kids to handle. Tip 2: Snacks should be easy for little fingers to grab. Popcorn, mini cookie cakes, and donuts were my treats of choice. Tip 3: Make your party POP with printables! You can find all sorts of printables to coordinate with every party theme. A banner, straw flags, toppers, signs, and napkin rings can help transform any party table into festive one. Tip 4: Table decor can be as simple as you’d like. I added 3 different cake stands, and a simple backdrop made from two foam boards, and wrapping paper. I hope these simple tips will help make your Valentine’s party a memorable one.

Time After Time Wedding
O
ur bride, Jennifer, came to Party Perfect Event Styling with her love story… She told with us her husband, Michael, and her shared a dance together when they first met to the Cindy Lauper hit “Time After Time”. She knew when he proposed; this would be the theme of their wedding. Party Perfect Event Styling created her vision of an event that would last “Time After Time”. With rustic décor and timeless elements, Jennifer and Michael’s wedding day was everything they dreamed of. The invite set the stage for this beautiful couple. After gathering the couple’s information, Party Perfect Event Styling printed on craft paper then added a piece of lace and fabric flower for a vintage feel. For a personal touch, Jennifer asked us to use vintage buttons from her grandmother’s collection to each invite. Jennifer and Michael married on his grandparent’s property and wanted the event to feel natural and unique. Two barn doors were placed at the end of the aisle to create an alter for the couple. Party Perfect hung simple burlap banners from the doors to add an eye-catching component without taking away from the couple’s moment. Jennifer’s grandmother had given her an ottoman, which she asked us to incorporate into the ceremony. It added a perfect place for the couple to exchange their vows. As Jennifer walked down the aisle littered with white rose petals, Michael’s face beamed with love! We knew we created a Party Perfect! Personal photos of each of the couple’s families were collected to remember those whose love has lasted “Time After Time”. Hung from twine and surrounded by party fans and poms, the photos inspired guests to write notes to the bride and groom on a vintage typewriter. The vintage luggage and hatbox were used to place cards to the couple, while clocks, hourglasses, vintage cameras, and flowers added just the right touches to this table. Additionally, the groom’s father lent us his pocket watch to hang from a table sign. The “Time After Time” lyrics were displayed in a vintage frame as a small reminder of
the couple’s love for one another. Our bride, Jennifer, remembered seeing photos from her parents wedding, which featured a piece of lace on her parents’ wedding cake table. She asked Party Perfect Event Styling to use this lace on her wedding day. The lace was a sentimental detail, perfect for this dessert table. Cake stands were decorated with beautiful cupcakes detailed with lace and pearls. Cookie towers housed intricate designed clock cookies; glazed to match the décor they were perfect for the dessert lover! Furnishings and large clocks assisted in making the dessert table one to remember while the personalized “Time After Time” printable captured the essence of the event. Party Perfect Event Styling made the cake topper flower arrangement as well as the “Love” banner and burlap picture frame to make this event one of a kind. To create an intimate moment for the couple while they dined, Party Perfect Event Styling found a quiet area away from the reception for the couple to enjoy a few moments together. The chandelier hung from a willow tree was the perfect lighting for their sunset dinner. The couple sat on vintage chairs with dinnerware from Party Perfect Event Styling’s collection. Gold chargers and burlap napkins were made exclusively for this event and the table centerpiece displayed moments of the couple together. The tablecloth also adds a touch of whimsical romance to this setup. King Cake Donut Recipe & Free P rintables Laissez les bon temps rouler! Who doesn’t love King Cake? Who doesn’t love donuts? Who wouldn’t love them mixed together to make one mouth watering delicious treat? I scoured Pinterest looking for a recipe…I asked a few of my favorite food bloggers, The Pink Cake Plate, and Aimee Broussard for tips. My good friend, DIY Modern Hostess told me to use store bought biscuit dough. Now I needed the perfect filling! I know Frog Prince Paperie has roots in New Orleans, and I was pretty sure she would have a recipe for King Cake. I was right, she does, and it’s simple! I took her recipe for the filling and mixed it all up, then I spooned some in the middle of each biscuit. I pinched the dough back together, and fried them in a pan of oil. I had to flip them once. Once they were fried, I spooned the frosting on top, and sprinkled them with purple, green, and gold sugar crystals. These are so good!! We ate them hot, we ate them cold, we ate them day old…we devoured them! I also created some cute free printables for Mardi Gras. The printables and the Pinable and printable recipe will be on the blog on February 15th. Recipe Adapted from Frog Prince Paperie Donuts: Grands Flakey Layers Biscuits 4 oz cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup powdered sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup chopped pecans 1/4 cup brown sugar Frosting: 3 Cups powdered sugar 1/4-1/3 Cup water (add slowly) 1/2 + teaspoon vanilla extract pinch of salt

Donuts: Mix all ingredients together with a mixer. Pull biscuits apart (as you would when it is fully cooked) Add a spoonful of cream cheese, sugar, pecan, vanilla extract mix Put biscuit back together, pinching sides together Fry for a few minutes on each side Place on a paper towel for a few moments (to allow the excess oil to “drain”) While it is on the paper towel, spoon frosting on top, it will slowly melt over the donut Sprinkle with colored sugar crystals while the frosting is still wet. I made the frosting first. It can be left at room temp for a while, and since it is very thick it’s easier to work with at room temp. Place sugar, salt, and vanilla in a mixing bowl, slowly add water as you mix until frosting is thick enough to spoon on the donut, but not so thick your spoon will stand in the bowl. Many thanks to Pink Cake Plate, Aimee Broussard, DIY Modern Hostess, and Frog Prince Paperie for all of their help!
Barbie, Life in the Dream House
I
t was a party full of glamour, glitz and fun. My daughter Dyllan has dreamed of a Barbie, Life in the Dream House party for a months now! She absolutely loves watching the show. This party was hosted for a small group of close family and friends (Girls only). The party began as quests arrived on to the “pink carpet”. They were greeted by Sheer Envy (hair & makeup) and brought over to the “Glam Stop” to be “dolled up”. They then made their way over to the “Bling Bar” to find the perfect accessories for their outfits. As soon as they were glammed up, a special guest arrived…. Barbie! Barbie entertained the girls with songs, dance, games, tattoos and story time. Along with her very own Dream House stories! She also joined the girls for some tasty treats. The guests enjoyed chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate covered Oreos, cookies, cupcakes and pink juice! Barbie also posed for pictures with the girls alongside the Life Size Barbie Box. Each girl received a super cute draw string jewelry bag filled with lip gloss, nail polish, nail files, brush, comb, mirror and, of course, their jewels and crown. The Dream House was created in our very own living room. The entrance was dressed with pink and white curtains and a hanging “D” for Dyllan. The table was dressed with pink sequin table cloths and set for the guests. Pink sashes were added to dress up the white chairs. Family pictures were replaced with pictures of Barbie and her Friends. American Girl Doll Sleepover
M
y little girl wanted a real American Girl doll for Christmas this year. As fate would have it, there is an American Girl doll named Samantha and it happened to look just like my Samantha. As soon as she opened it, I knew there would be many parties, playdates, and celebrations that would be centered around this cutie. Jess was kind enough to send me her American Girl inspired printable collection so I could have a little fun! Be sure to look for the free printables on Everyday Party Magazine’s blog in mid-February! A sleepover was planned, which was the perfect opportunity to host a little party for 2 dolls. Using my daughter’s bedroom as the location added tons of charm (not to mention, it was super simple to set-up). I grabbed one of her favorite blankets and grabbed 2 doll salon chairs. The printable banner is the perfect size. The collection includes a banner that says Happy Birthday. But, you can just use some of the banner letters and have a PARTY banner! Any doll party needs refreshments, my daughter chose tea cups/saucers. We used the name tent, it was too cute to pass. For my daughter and her friend, I used the party circles. I simply added a fun background & put one on each of their plates (they had donuts). It’s hard to go wrong with good friends, dolls and cute printables. They made our sleepover extra special! Yes, the dolls are wearing matching pajamas! Rainbow pARTy
W
hen I think spring, I think of rainbows! And what goes better with rainbows than a craft painting project? Each guest was invited with a foam brush on a color card from my local paint store. We had a fun and simple art project right away. I began with a piece of foam core and taped off straight or angled lines with painters tape, then paint each section a different color. After the paint dries to touch remove tape to show the white canvas and a cool geometric piece of art. It’s no surprise for my husband or my guests to come to my home and find the canopy in our living room. It was the perfect frame for our art and snack table! I draped the streamers through a hula hoop (at the canopy center) and then swagged them to the edge of canopy, each were cut at various lengths. Each place setting has a small canvas , paint brush in a paint swatch card and a few colored pencils for my artists to be creative. The focal point for our snack table was a big paint brush. It was made from one sheet of black foam core cut to the shape of a brush with a few strips of the new gold duct tape. I gathered each color of plastic table cloth (from the Dollar Tree or Wal-Mart) and taped to the back side of the paint brush and then fanned out each cloth to cover my food table. My RAINBOW menu I love my snack letters and they are perfect for six colors of fruit, you could easily lay the cut fruit on any tray as well. I used strawberries, cantaloupe, pineapple chunks, green grapes, blue berries, and black berries. One color in each letter! Rainbow waffles were perfect with the fruit. And, you can’t have a party without cake or cupcakes, of course ours were rainbow colored! After following the directions for my cake and waffle mix, I separated the batter into 6 separate bowls and added food coloring to each bowl, layering the cupcake mix into each cup or my waf-
fle iron. I love to serve cupcakes in my stemmed fruit cups, almost like a cupcake-tini I always add a tub of cool whip to my can of frosting to give me a smooth and easy way to frost my cupcakes. I used my ziplock bag and frosting tip for a nice design. I cut a small piece of Airheads sweet and sour candy for my rainbow and added a few white candy sprinkles for my cloud. Jolly Rancher Candy Cups: I saw Peppermint candy shot glasses made at Christmas and knew I would try it with Jolly Ranchers for candy cups. I’ve made Jolly Rancher suckers so I knew I could lay the melted candy over a shot glass to make my candy cups. Supplies: 1 bag jolly ranchers Parchment paper Spray Pam Unwrap your candies tear small 6” squares of parchment paper, lay out 5 pieces of candy and melt in a 350 degree oven for 5-6 minutes ( watch the first one and then you can adjust your time) After the candy melts, pull the small parchment piece off to your cool counter top. Give it a few seconds to cool then begin to pull the candy away from the parchment and lay it on top of your upside down shot glass, mold down to create the shape of the cup. ( the candy will be hot, handle carefully as you remove the parchment paper and mold the cup) I added a few other rainbow colored candies for each guest to enjoy.
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration
I
come from an Irish family, but we don’t usually celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a big party, corned beef, and beer. Usually, what we do is small and for the kids. In the morning, the kids see a mess the Leprechauns made, and have Lucky Charms for breakfast. I make Shepard’s Pie for dinner and we talk about St. Patrick a little. However, my boys know I am a party girl, and they called me out! Why don’t we have St. Patrick’s Day parties, mom? So, of course, I styled a St. Patrick’s Day party for them! The party was affordable and fast, just the way I like it. I used my Celtic Cross tapestry as the backdrop against our white pantry doors. We had Lucky Charms cereal, vanilla cupcakes, green grapes, Rice Krispie treats with little chocolate shamrocks on them. (Fun fact, I cannot make a Rice Krispie Treat to save my life, so my sister always comes over to make them for me) The kids drank green juice, and colored shamrocks and leprechauns. We read a little about St. Patrick and what he did for Ireland, and we talked about our heritage some. I shared some images of my grandmother and her family when they visited Ireland. They were all amazed that she hung upside down to kiss a rock! My more adventurous boys want to follow in her footsteps and do the same soon. The boys all got a small shamrock bag to keep their treasures in. Even though I made them myself, you can order your own custom ones from The Purple Pug. Pirate Adventure Party
H
ouston is a sweet normal little boy with a bunch of Pirate in him!! He is always sword fighting with us and going on treasure hunts, so we thought a Pirate party would be perfect!! We did talk about with him and he was over the top excited! I had him help me make a few things for his party, including the centerpieces and a few other small details. But, we did keep a few surprises as well! When all the kids first got there, we had a table set up with a pirate eye patches and hats. Then they went to the coloring station, face painting or tattoo stations! At a pirate party you have to look like a pirate!! After all that we had some pirate pizza and Blackbeard Ale. But, the best part was when Captain Sunny showed up! All the kids were so excited they rushed him! He sat down and taught them all “how to speak like a pirate!” Then they sang a song and finally found the Treasure Map!! This was the best idea ever! Captain Sunny asked the kids to help him read his Treasure Map they went through the forest (swing set), across the swamp (canoe with blue tarp under it), and then the kids walked the plank! At the end was a Real Treasure Chest with Pirate Gold! The kids also sword fought the piñata for more treasures. We ended our pirate adventure with cake and presents. It was truly the perfect pirate party!! Boots, Chaps, & Cowgirl Hats
A
s I was prepping a cowgirl themed party for my client, my 3 year old daughter kept repeating how she wanted a Cowgirl 4th birthday party, too. She was enamored with all the pink girly details and the cowgirl boot centerpiece. When my clients outdoor party was compromised because of a torrential storm that hit it, I knew this was a sign! I couldn’t let the countless hours spent on planning the decor go to waste so I decided to put my efforts into planning the same theme for my daughter. My goal was to make it as authentically farm chic as possible. Nothing screams cowgirl more than hay, peanuts, silver watering cans, checkered linens, cowgirl hats, and handkerchiefs so I used these elements throughout the decor. I made the apple pie baked apples using the Apple Lattice pie baked in an apple recipe from www.tablespoon.com. And my guests loved them! A DIY project that was simple and creative were the Mason jars fork and knife dispensers.

he Mason Jar fork and knife jars were a unique touch to the party, and a simple DIY! What you’ll need: *Mason jars *Small bottle acrylic paint. (You need less than you think.) *Pink and white gingham ribbon *Jute Twine *Small glue dots *Flowers I had Mason Jars in my pantry. I bought some acrylic paint and small paint brushes at Hobby Lobby. I bought the chalkboard sticker labels and the small paper flowers at Michaels. I painted each jar with three coats of paint and waited for each coat to dry completely before applying the next coat. Once dry, I added the ribbon and twine to lid with glue dots. Then I added the flowers to ribbon and wrapped twine around flowers. Finally, I centered the chalkboard stickers and labeled it with chalk from my daughter’s playroom.

Next, settled just under the shade of a large citrus tree was a mini tea party table perfect for our young guests. Hanging watering cans filled with flowers by Butterfly Petals tied in the “garden party” theme. Mis-matched chairs and china gives the table a vintage feel. Guests were able to devour amazing custom treats created by Sweet Lulu. The goodies were showcased by displaying them on various pieces of vintage furniture. Juju’s Tutus provided custom tutus, and bow ties for the young guests, perfect for a spring party. Children were able to participate in an Egg-Hunt, as well as letter writing station to the Easter Bunny for entertainment. Page and Mason custom paper products created custom Bunny stationary, thank you tags, and place cards. Hoppy Easter
I
look forward to Easter every year! We always go to a big park and spend the whole day there. We BBQ, play games, hide Easter eggs and just enjoy each other’s company. I always set up a little something for the kids to enjoy, they love running around then stopping to get a cupcake or some bunny tails, oopps, I mean marshmallows. For our celebration, I used a basket and filled it with some of the Easter eggs that I will hide. I placed some mini marshmallows in a push up pop container and placed it among the eggs. I also set out granola bites in cute cups perfect to give the kids a boost of energy. Our store bought cupcakes were topped with an adorable bunny cupcake topper that I created. The kids loved the bunny chair covers I used for their table they giggle every time the saw it. If you head out to the park or enjoy the day at home create a table with snacks for all the kids to enjoy. Happy Easter!!! Orange Blossom Wedding
I
recently had the pleasure of styling a gorgeous outdoor wedding for a bride with a small budget. We were able to create this beautiful citrus themed wedding and reception by using unconventional products, budget shopping, and DIY’ing! This stunning event can be recreated for just about $1,000! (Food and drinks not included) The table linens were $4 vinyl lace table cloths from Ross Department Stores. We also purchase the wood crates from Ross for just $7! Typically, table linens are just that, linen, but for cost and ease, these were perfect and looked great! All plates and silverware are actually plastic, from Party City. Using plastic plates and service ware is a big budget saver and with so many plastic plates and service ware looking so much like traditional plates and silver, the look remains the same, at a fraction of the cost! The birdcages were purchased at Micheal’s with a 40% off coupon. All of the oranges and lemons were hand picked from a friends backyard tree, and recycled after the wedding. The florals and greenery were purchased from the LA Flower Market in downtown Los Angeles. The total floral budget was $150.00. A lot of the glassware, & furniture pieces were actually rented at a low cost from Carmen Navarro Designs. The budget for this DIY Wedding was just $1000.00 for all decor, props, table, chairs, cutlery, plating, furniture rental, linens, and floral arrangements! Pink Lemonade Stand
W
ith Spring here, and ripe lemons hanging from our tree, I knew a fresh lemonade stand was in order! The first step in planning this sweet pink & yellow lemonade stand was finding a cute printable design. I found the perfect clipart set and created some easy printables for our lemonade stand! I added my printables for a banner, mason jar tags, mini cupcake toppers, a small lemonade sign, and scalloped circle tags that I added to pink & white paper straws. I painted my favorite piece of furniture yellow, added some lumber to the sides & top, and that became our lemonade stand. It was really easy to do, and the kids loved it! A large jar of freshly picked lemons made for fun decor. I served pink lemonade in Mason jars that were decorated with tags, and tied with tulle. The pink lemonade was kept in a large Mason jar dispenser that was set on top of a cute pink cake stand. To keep the palate sweet, I set out mini cupcakes inside of pink baking cups, and the lemon flavored macarons looked “sweet” inside of pink & white striped baking cups. A pretty scrolled frame showcased my lemonade stand sign, perfectly. I attached a “lemonade” banner to the front of the stand, and added a pink tissue pom for a little added whimsy. Lemons never tasted so sweet! Look for the banner DIY and printables on Everyday Party Magazine’s blog in April!
