So Very Thankful By: Heather Anne Naples Photography

his burlap, chalkboard and metallic themed table is budgeted for a set up for a family of 4. You can find the print that inspired this table design at Charlotte Anabar Designs. For $30 you can easily recreate this beautiful table design. When I first saw the “So Very Thankful” print from Charlotte Anabar Designs I fell in love and I knew I wanted to style my small Thanksgiving table around it. I used a simple white tablecloth that I already owned paired with the burlap mesh fabric I found at JoaAnn’s. I then set the table using the gold chargers I found at Dollar Tree. I wrapped the silverware in a small piece of patterned burlap that I bought pre-cut also at Joann’s. I cut into a square and simply folded the fabric around the silverware. I placed a small pumpkin on top of each place setting with a chalkboard name plate (that I found in the dollar center at Target). I then completed the table with a vase of sunflowers and the metallic pumpkins (also from the Target dollar section). And the crowning jewel of the table, I would say, is the Vanilla Pumpkin bundt cake!

Budget Break Down:

Vanilla Pumpkin Bundt Cake:

2 3/4 cups sugar 5 eggs 1 1/4 cup oil 2 1/2 cups flour 2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp. vanilla 1 15oz. can pumpkin puree Preheat oven to 350

Beat eggs and sugar until light and creamy. Add oil and mix well. Add flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Mix until combined. Stir in pumpkin and vanilla. Pour into well greased 12 cup bundt pan. Bake 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean and top is springy. Maple Glaze: 1/2 cup pure maple syrup 1 TBS heavy whipping cream 3 TBS butter 1 cup powdered sugar Bring maple syrup and butter to a boil. Stir in heavy whipping cream. Remove from heat. Stir in powdered sugar. Use immediately. I used store bought caramel sauce and drizzled this over the top of the glazed cake. Find this recipe on Everyday Party Magazine too.

Turkey Feast By: LAURA’S little PARTY

o help get my toddlers in the spirit of thankfulness, I put together a small Thanksgiving spread. I displayed store bought treats, created Pilgrim & Indian printables, and set up a small teepee. Turkey sandwiches, and corn coblettes were on the menu. Cupcakes, nutty bars, pudding pops, caramel apples, mini pecan pies, donut holes, and trail mix were served as fun treats that small toddlers could easily nibble, and handle. The no-cost tee pee that I constructed was a hit, and a fun source of entertainment & imagination! I created some simple festive Pilgrim & Indian printables, and added them to the meal baskets, treats, and dessert table. I incorporated real tree logs, and used them as stands. I also made two colorful banners for the teepee entrance, by using printable paper. They added just the right amount of fun. I arranged the colors, and hot glued them to baker’s twine. My tee pee was constructed from left over lumber I found in my backyard. I also had some extra burlap from a previous event, and used that for the tee pee cover. My kid’s table was covered with a roll of craft wrapping paper. I spotted a roll at Dollar Tree, and knew it would make for the perfect cover to our kid-friendly feast. Thanksgiving By: Everyday Party Magazine

his year I wanted keep my tablescape simple and elegant. I chose to only use three colors for my table, brown, cream and gold. Because I was only using three colors, I chose several different textures to keep it interesting. I started off by covering my table with a cream colored tablecloth. Next, I layered a cream colored lace runner over the top. I used burlap placements and cream colored napkins for a nice contrast. One of my favorite elements on the table are the pumpkins. I took orange Dollar Tree pumpkins and turned them into a beautiful centerpiece. I love how elegant they turned out. It’s amazing what a little spray paint, gold acrylic paint and little twine can do. I also die cut leaves from felt and burlap to add color and texture. I also added them to the napkins to tie everything together. I love adding the extra little details. Another extra detail and my other favorite element on the table are the name cards. To keep with my theme, I used mini burlap canvases as the foundation for my name cards. I glued on a brown felt leaf, added bakers twine and a gold clip to hold the tag. I love how nice they look on the plates and they make a perfect memento for the families to take home. I love the idea of giving my family and friends a small gift that they can take out each year and remember our special time together.

Donuts & Dreidels By: Lizard and Ladybug

his is one of the last years my kids are really going to be excited about the traditions of Hanukah, and like every parent I cherish their childhood art projects. I wanted to make an after school play date with friends a little more fun, so I set up a donut menorah and laid out craft supplied for the kids to decorate their own dreidels. The kids were so excited to see a donut menorah, and I was excited to get another year of holiday traditions and celebrations with childhood art! The donut menorah is super easy to assemble! You will need 10 mini donuts (easily found at the grocery store) and Hanukkah candles. Line up your donuts on a long serving tray, and add a candle to the middle of each donut. The kids will have a fun time creating their own unique dreidel and eating yummy donuts! You will have fun knowing this cute playdate didn’t cost a fortune or take hours to plan. There is really no right or wrong way to make the dreidels. Have your kids make several and sting them on twine or ribbon for a fun and adorable Hanukah garland. If your children are younger, have them use a glue stick and crayons, and let their creativity shine. This would be a great activity for pre-school play datesand even for bigger kids while you make dinner or just need a few minutes of quiet.

Girly Viking Dragon Party By: A Party Studio

essica’s favorite movie is How to Train Your Dragon Two, so her mom wanted Jessica’s 8th birthday party to reflect her love of all things dragon. Jesicca loves the idea of being a defender of dragons, so this party concept evolved in to an ‘academy’ for dragon defending. The party included fun activities such as an archery tournament, dragon races, storming castles (bouncy house filled with balloons), and a dragon nest photo station complete with eggs. Food at the party included Beserker Burgers, Hooligan Hot Dogs, dragon scales (Doritos), and dragon eggs (grapes). The dessert table was decorated using a burlap backdrop, a burlap ribbon garland at the front of the table, photos of the birthday girl in brighly colored frames, banners, and flowers in custom painted mason jars. Dessert items included chocolate cake, cake pops, personalized cookies, rice crispy treats, vanilla cupcakes, chocolate covered Graham crackers and a selection of candies and chocolates inside apothecary jars. For party favors, guests were treated to candy kabobs and Hershey Kiss chocolates. Each child also took home a shield and a Viking hat. The shields served double purpose as they’d been used for decorating the hall and the food buffet bar. They were made out of cardboard and duct tape by the birthday girl’s mom.

Wine and Wrap Party By: LAURA’S little PARTY

he hustle & bustle of the holidays will soon be underway! I thoroughly enjoy the busy stores, and the long lines as I sip on my Caramel Apple Spice from Starbucks. I get giddy with excitement when I hear Christmas music being played over the store’s speaker system, and I really don’t mind lugging all my bags that are filled to the brim with gifts for all my friends & loved ones. Once I get home, I look through all my great buys, and even start to box them, and sort through my collection of wrapping paper. And, that’s where it comes to a screeching halt! I despise wrapping gifts. I’m usually one of those last minute, ‘quickly throw it in a bag, and surround the gift with loads of color coordinating tissue paper, and stick a tag on the front’ kind of wrapper. While I certainly hope that my gift recipients don’t judge my gifts by the cover, I rarely like to put any amount of time into my wrapping. So, a few years back, I was talking with another friend of mine. I found out that she didn’t like wrapping gifts either. That’s when I came up with the idea of a Wine & Wrap party! I would provide everything needed to make your presents beautiful; tape, scissors, tags, paper, etc. All the guests need bring is their favorite bottle of wine to share, their holiday gifts. We could sip our wine, gab, and get through all the stresses of wrapping, together! I displayed the tape & scissors on trays. Gift tags, bows, and spools of assorted ribbons were set out in glass jars for easy grabbing. I also provided rolls upon rolls of wrapping paper, and different sizes of gift bags. Before you know it, we were down 4 bottles of wine, and every single Christmas gift was wrapped, and ready to put under our Christmas trees! Quick, and nearly painless - just how I like it! I highly recommend having a wine & wrap party of your own, whether or not you enjoy wrapping gifts, it’s just a great time getting together with friends!

Co okies and Cocoa Party By: Morsels Party Planning

hether your guest list includes adults or kids, everyone will love this sweet and chocolately Cookies and Cocoa themed party. Guests were invited with our printable invitations to a Cookies and Cocoa Party that also doubled as a holiday shopping extravaganza. A chance to come and eat some yummy cookies, make a custom cup of cocoa for yourself and shop from six different vendors that attended the party. Snowflakes and candy canes were our inspiration for the color palette. Light blues, silver snowflakes and red and white stripes bring you right into the holiday season. We used two different fabrics for the backdrop to give the effect of falling winter snowflakes. Red and white striped tissue poms were made to look like giant peppermint candies. Milk bottles for were wrapped with our printable hot cocoa wraps and paired with blue and white striped paper straws. The hot cocoa is the centerpiece of our dessert display in our elegant white tureen. With a variety of toppings, mixers, and stirrers, itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s time to get creative with your cocoa. Andes mints, toffee bits, mini chocolate chips, coconut, and caramel for toppings. Cinnamon sticks, snowflake chocolate covered pretzels and peppermint spoons for stirrers. The flavor possibilities are endless! Letâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s talk cookies. For a cookies and cocoa party, a variety of cookies is a must. Large glass jars help chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, sugar, and chocolate sandwich cookies. Small white plates help red and white striped and polka dotted chocolate covered Oreos. We tied the cookie jars with blue-silvery snowflake ribbon to tie in with the theme. Try having a Cookies and Cocoa party for your childâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s next playdate. The kids will love choosing their own cocoa toppings and drinking out of those cute paper straws. You could even switch out the cocoa for chocolate milk! Mod Holiday Cocktails

he holidays are all about family, giving and of course booze and snacks! Here’s some inspiration for when those who are near and dear gather together to celebrate. Serving one or two signature cocktails is fun and creative. It can help you stick to a budget and saves on prep time since you only need a few ingredients. Instant holiday cheer in a cup = chocolatey mint martinis. Add vodka to chocolate liqueur or chocolate milk and shake. Before serving in the glass, we crunched up several candy canes on a plate and rimmed each of the martini glasses. For a fun touch, we shook red and green sprinkles on the top. Find small shooter style glasses and let guests make their own drinks. Another creamy, less sweet cocktail is eggnog shooters. These couldn’t be easier. A shot of rum, a splash of egg nog, one cinnamon stick and you’re done! The cinnamon would be just as tasty in some homemade sangria as well. For snacks, caramel popcorn is a snap to make with not much prep time involved. As you pop your popcorn, make the caramel coating by bringing 1 cup butter, 2 cups brown sugar, ½ cup corn syrup and 1 teaspoon of salt to a boil. Remove from heat and then add 1 teaspoon baking soda and stir. Now add your caramel sauce to the popcorn and bake on low (about 225 degrees F) for an hour. Stir it occasionally and let it cool on wax parchment. We combined traditional and modern elements in our decor for an eclectic look. We used red and green snowflake printables to tie in the look of our table including drink tags that can be personalized with each guest’s initial. Mixed silver and grey accents helped to make non traditional holiday colors pop a bit more, like the dark navy of our printable banner. Candy, Cake, & Cocktails By: Dreamin’ N Deatails

very year I throw a party to celebrate Christmas and the birthdays of five of my oldest friends and my own birthday. Throughout the years, I have chosen such themes as The Roaring 20’s, Ugly Sweater, Black & White Glam, and Christmas PJs. However, the Candy, Cake & Cocktails Party stands out as one of my all-time favorites. I wanted to highlight some of my favorite things for this party. And, who doesn’t love sweets and drinks?! I began by choosing a unique color scheme of red, turquoise & lime green and then immediately began working with Laura of Eye Candy Creative Studio. I wanted this party to have a modern and fun look and feel. She took my vision and designed a beautiful invitation and printable collection. Once I had the basics covered, I turned to my crazy talented friends in the party world to provide the delicious…and gorgeous…treats that would make up the ‘Candy’ aspect of the celebration. Love & Sugar Kisses and Lynlee’s Petite Cakes created custom mini fondant toppers; Frog Prince Cake & Cookie Design made the most beautiful champagne glass cookies; and Firefly Confections whipped up the yummy caramels that each guest received as favors. Other sweet treats included Peppermint Bark, Hot Chocolate Cheesecake Shooters, Chocolate Covered Pretzels, Mini Red Velvet Cupcakes, Chocolate Covered Bacon and Skittles. A delicious Coconut Cream Cake served as the ‘Cake’ portion of the party and perfectly resembled snow. I chose ‘Cocktails’ that would also match the color scheme. Guests enjoyed Silent Night Martinis, in a lovely shade of turquoise, as well as a red Rudolph’s Champagne Punch. Red ‘noses’ were attached to the champagne flutes to add a touch of fun and whimsy. This birthday party will always stand out as one of my favorites. The bright, bold colors, along with the delicious food and drinks, provided the perfect atmosphere for guests to Eat, Drink & Be Merry!

Cocoa Stand By: 4 Kids Cakes

ny time you can re-create an every day activity in a kid version it makes it way more fun! Shabby Sisters never disappoints in the furniture they create. So, using their hot cocoa stand for our Hot Cocoa party at Kelly Farm was a no-brainer! I decided to try my hand at making my own hot cocoa. It was SO easy! Using bulk ingredients found at Winco, I was able to create 3 different recipes. Peppermint, Salted Caramel, & Double Chocolate. Using a glass beverage dispenser, we filled it with hot water for the kids to dispense into their corrugated cups from PartyOn!. From there, we added to the options with whipped cream, white chocolate & caramel syrups that we wrapped in printables by PartyOn! Designs. Custom snowflake marshmallows on straws by Madyson’s Marshmallows were the perfect way to mix up their drinks. If marshmallows weren’t their thing, we had wooden spoons from PartyOn! Designs that we dipped in chocolate to use. We put together thank you favors of “to-go” hot cocoa in clear cellophane bags that PartyOn! Provided. To pull together the feel of a comfy cozy party, Stylish Tailor made custom pj’s for the kids, with coordinating shirts by Sweet Threads Clothing. North Pole By: Malu Boutiques

t’s almost time for Christmas, the most wonderful time of the year. I love every aspect of the season, the party planning, decorations, lights, the secret meetings with Santa, But best of all watching my children’s faces come Christmas morning. When I was approached about doing a Christmas dessert table I jumped for joy. My friend Marta, my mom and I had so much fun thinking of themes and putting together the group of talented ladies that created all the wonderful goodies. We wanted the theme to appeal to both children and adults so the North Pole idea worked for all. Honestly who wouldn’t like to visit Santa’s Workshop at the North Pole? We chose the traditional color schemes of Christmas, to bring back the memories we all had as children. We quickly went to Hobby Lobby (first one opened in Miami) to get the inspiration we needed and we began to put it all together. It was amazing to see how everything we all envisioned came together and that our photographer captured our inspiration. Thank you to these amazing and dedicated ladies for their hard work, their delicious creations, but most of all for a wonderful time.

White Christmas Sugar Studio and Platinum Event Decor

e wanted to create a simple and elegant look. We used a soft color palette, including shades of white silver and pale blue. A white table cloth was loosely draped over a banquet length dessert table. We love how the elegant decor gave the perfect touch to our table. We used boxes with silver accents to add height and visual interest. Candies were served in apothecary jars. We added simple white Christmas trees and a sleigh to anchor one side of the table. The other side was stacked high with beautiful candy apples on a candelabra stand. We chose not to hang a backdrop, and simply placed our table in front of the gorgeous stacked stone fireplace. The sweets are simple and crafted to perfection. We served white candies, white chocolate dipped strawberries, white chocolate covered cookies, and pale blue candy apples. Each dessert was served from its own unique serving tray or jar. The dessert table looked stunning! Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s all about the details.

Ugly Sweater By: Everyday Party Magazine

e love the Christmas Holiday season in our family! And, even though Florida never gets snow, we like to pull out our cozy sweaters and finally wear jeans without breaking a sweat. This year we hosted an Ugly Sweater Party for our friends and their children. My family and I like to have smaller parties with our close friends, and this Ugly Sweater party is perfect! We decorated with hand cut felt sweaters decorated with glitter paint pens. The boys and I hot glued yarn to the back to make the sweater bunting, and ran the felt through my Xyron to make them stick to the hot cocoa cups. The kids loved helping me decorate the ugly sweaters, and I loved how affordable they were! One of my boys helped me make mini yarn poms to decorate with too. But, my favorite decoration was the deer head from Wallternatives! The deer was the inspiration for the printables as well. (Look for those on the blog in late November.) I also used red, white and green candy and sprinkles to decorate the serving trays. Paper straws are another simple, affordable, and fun way to bring a little more color to any party. I used my red paper straws to hold the bunting over the cake, and to cover the popsicle sticks in the Rice Krispie Bars. I served simple store bought cake, but embellished it with the sweater bunting, cookies from Trader Joeâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s, and packaged Rice Krispie Treats that the boys and I dipped in melting chocolate and sprinkled with candy. I made hot cocoa and served wine and mixed drinks. I also had a few kid and adult friendly appetizers on the counter to nibble on. One of the boys wore an adorable deer shirt to match the invitation and wall decor. Great Stitch makes the most adorable products and I adore working with her! My oldest son found an Ugly Sweater T-shirt at JC Penneyâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s and wore that, maybe a little too proudly. Another son wore his very best tie and a flannel shirt, and the youngest wanted no part of celebrating, so he wore a plain T-shirt and shorts. The other kids at the party and the adults all loved dressing the part, and an Ugly Sweater winner was found very quickly! The winner for the kids category got a fast food restaurant gift card. The adult winner wore a fun, albeit ugly, button from Fizzy Party, and received a bottle of wine dressed in an ugly sweater sleeve turned wine bottle bag. We bought our sweaters from a thrift store, but apparently ugly sweaters are very easy to find new. This party was a blast, and was truly one everyone can be a part of, while maintaining an affordable budget!

Christmas Cookie Decorating Party By: BellaGrey Designs

hat better way to kick off the holiday season than by hosting a cookie decorating party?! Santa’s little helpers were invited to join their friends, Isabella and Greyson, for a cookie decorating party on this crisp December afternoon. I kept it simple by having my favorite baker, Shelley of Margie Lou’s Sweets, make several dozen sugar cookies! I provided plenty of candy and icing to decorate with. It was really fun and all the kids made great creations to take home and display. Want to know more? All the party details are below. The table was covered in a simple white tablecloth and each child’s place included a personalized placemat to work on and take home as a party keepsake. The chairs were dressed in colorful ribbons and each one held the child’s name so they could find their seats easily. This provided the setting for hours of creative fun! I placed two large serving trays in the middle of the table which held all the fun decorating supplies. As our guests arrived, each one found their seats and was thrilled with their personalized place settings. As the kids completed their cookies, they were given a cookie box to take their masterpieces home along with Reindeer food in little plastic vials. The kids really had fun and I am always amazed at what they come up with when they are left to create on their own. ith four young boys at home, my husband and I tend to have a low key New Year’s Eve celebration. Our night is full of fun finger foods, and family board games. It’s always a lot of fun, and the kids love that it’s the one night of the year that I will play board games with the whole family. Our games of choice are usually Monopoly and Clue. While the kids rarely make it past 10 PM, my hubby and I generally stay up and watch the Ball drop in Time Square on TV. Even though neither of us are big drinkers, it is nice to toast the new year with our (never used) cut crystal glasses and a bottle of champagne. Since neither of us are able to drink a bottle of champagne, I buy a small bottle. These bottle labels are available in two sizes. They would be perfect on champagne bottle party favors too! Sips and Sweets By: Mindy Alyse Events

ere’s my party planning philosophy: always focus on your strengths.

Cooking is not one of my strengths, nor am I super passionate about it. However I am all in on styling and decorating. So when I am entertaining, I like to focus my time and energy on my strength in styling, and leave the food to the professionals. This does not mean I have to spend a ton of money, pre-made grocery store cupcakes and deli platters can easily be taken out of their cheap plastic containers, placed on a fun cupcake stand or platter, and instantly look fabulous! The concept behind this New Year’s Eve Party was classic, and simple. Gold and blush is so “in” right now, and is a cheerful change from the black we always see for New Year’s parties. The invitation from Rene with Party Monkey sets the tone with a simple and sophisticated confetti design. I also made a coordinating envelope lined with gold paper found on clearance at a large craft store. This small detail just dresses up the invite a bit more. I love using Etsy for my party printables. Rene from Party Monkey sells digital coordinating files that I can then print. A party tip I use to save some money. . .instead of printing them at a large box printer, use a small local printer, they are typically half the price. Rene with Party Monkey also has coordinating products like food tents to complete a cohesive look for your party. Since this party is a sips and sweets party, I created two set ups. One for the “sips,” a simple champagne bar, and one for the “sweets,” with the cake bar cart. Referring back to my party philosophy, I left the food to the professionals, and had Carlene with Carlene’s Confections create a small cake for guests to enjoy. Oh my goodness did she knock it out of the park! I mean, this cake is to die for! The ornate delicate blush flowers look stunning on the ivory cake. Little specks of gold completed the look. By saving money on décor items, I like to splurge on food items like this cake. How did I save money on décor items? The cake bar cart I picked up at a flea market for $20. With a little love and some paint, I transformed it into a unique cart to display a beautiful cake. Another money saving tip is to visit your local thrift store. I found the vintage cut crystal champagne glasses at a local thrift store for $0.50 each. The ice bucket I won in a raffle, and it was black. I simply spray painted it gold to match the theme. The “cut crystal” bowels with the fruit mixers are from a local dollar store. And lastly, the table cloth and fabric garland was made with fabric from a discount fabric store. This is another party secret. . .most large towns have a

discount fabric store, where they sell fabric by the yard only. I paid a total of $20 for all the fabric in this entire shoot, and have left overs. Below is a tutorial for a fabric garland backdrop. I use these in almost all my parties because they are so easy, cheap, and can be done in any color to match your party theme. Don’t let entertaining intimidate you. Focus on what you are good at and resource out the rest. And don’t forget to utilize local contacts to save some money – small print shops, thrift stores, dollar stores, and discount fabric spots.

Fabric Garland Backdrop Tutorial Materials: -Fabric in coordinating colors -Scissors -Twine Step 1 -Cut twine to the desired garland length.

Step 2 -Cut strips of fabric approximately 2 inches in width. I like to even tear the fabric for extra texture and a worn or vintage feel. Step 3 -Once you have cut all the strips, begin to tie the strips in a single knot onto the twine. Once you have several strips tied, pull the knots close together so that there are no gaps in between the strips. Step 4 -Continue to tie these knots until you have enough to cover your desired twine length. I like to do random colors, however, you can also do a pattern if thatâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s the look you are going for. Step 5 -Hang and enjoy! I like to use small hooks with an adhesive backing that can easily be removed without ruining your walls.

Happy New Year! By: LAURA’S little PARTY

heers to the new year! Bring on the sparkle, the glitter, and the fun celebrations!

Every year our house is brimming with preparation for our New Year’s party. We invite our closest friends over for a quiet evening, as we wait for the ball to drop. I make sure there are plenty of fun munchies, and lots of beverages on hand. And because our friends have kids of all ages, just like us, we like to set out a special table for the younger guests to enjoy! You don’t need to spend a fortune on snacks for the kids, they’ll be happy with store bought treats. When you display them in a fun inviting way, the no fuss snacks will surely be a hit! I bought a couple packages of Oreos, and created a simple Oreo cake by stacking the cookies into a small tower, displayed on a cake stand. I also poured milk in miniature plastic martini glasses, and topped them with a cookie. I stuffed Oreos into push up containers that were festively embellished with tinsel and fun printables, by Lauren Haddox Designs. Mini sparkling cider bottles were displayed in tuxedo favor boxes that I found at Dollar Tree. Gold sparkly tulle was added, along with a straw, for quick sipping! Hostess cupcakes were set inside of cupcake wrappers, and topped with more festive paper decor. I added gold tinsel to the bottoms of the cupcake toppers, for a little added sparkle. Microwave popcorn filled ice cream cups, from Walmart, and topped with a mini disco ball ornament. Mini champagne bottles of bubbles were set out so the guests could quickly grab them once the clock struck midnight. I kept my decor to a minimum, but also wanted the small dessert set up to have a fun, sparkly vibe to it. I covered the table with a bubbly patterned fabric that I found at Walmart. Colors of silver, gold, and black filled every space of the festive table. My backdrop consisted of two foam boards taped together, and wrapped with chevron printed wrapping paper from HomeGoods. I also constructed a few faux cakes from Styrofoam rounds from Dollar Tree, wrapping paper, tinsel, a mini boa, and a large circle printable tag, also from Lauren Haddox Design’s New Years collection. Make sure you have some take home boxes on hand! The guests will enjoy filling up their boxes with treats, and favors, to enjoy later. ctress and first-time mom Beverley Mitchell helped bring joy to 40 Los Angeles-area military moms-to-be when she hosted a group baby shower in their honor. The event was held in the clubhouse at Riviera Country Club during the PGA TOUR’s 2014 Northern Trust Open. The moms are the spouses of deployed members of Naval Station San Diego, Edwards Air Force Base and other California military installations. The vintage “Play Date”-themed event was sponsored by baby bedding company Carousel Designs and The Mahan Foundation, with support from Riviera Country Club, Northern Trust, the Northern Trust Open and Summer Infant. In addition to lunch provided by Whole Foods Market, each of the honored moms-to-be received Operation Shower’s signature “Shower In A Box” – a gift of high-quality products for mothers and babies that have been generously donated by companies including Carousel Designs. Special guests at the event included PGA TOUR player Hunter Mahan and his wife, Kandi. A native of Arcadia, CA, Mitchell starred for 11 seasons as Lucy Camden on 7th Heaven, the longest-running family drama in TV history. She has also starred in the ABC Family hit, “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” the miniseries “Sinatra,” and numerous other TV shows and films, including “Melrose Place,” “Quantum Leap” and the award-winning film, “Snowmen” opposite Ray Liotta and Christopher Lloyd. Her favorite role of all, however, has been as mom to daughter Kenzie Lynne, who was born in 2013. “I am honored to host the Operation Shower event during the Northern Trust Open and have the opportunity to express my appreciation for all these amazing women do on behalf of our country,” said Mitchell.
