Undertake a period of focused, in-depth and sustained research into an area of graphic design appropriate to your design strategy. You should apply a range of research methods in the investigation of issues, practices, practitioners and companies relating to your own particular area of study. This should culminate in the design and production of a Case Study in the form of a book (or print based delivery), interactive DVD or web site. .
How the book represents my methodology and shows the way in winch i work. How can it be made substantially and have a purpose other than just a book.

Research Initial research went into looking at ways that i could make the book something other than just a book, like how the lifespan of it could be improved.

Research Looking into mechanical binding, this is so that when the book has been finished with it is a lot easier to recycle than a book that has glue down the edge which would mean the book would have to be cleaned.

Research The book has been made out of paper that has been found in the bin of the Graphic Design Studio, this is why there is a range of different paper stocks.

The book The publication has section of yellow that have quotes to break up the pages. At the end of the section about me the book is made into a sketchbook/notebook where people can use it as they please. This extends the life of the book and at the same time makes use of the paper that was just going to be thrown away.

Binding The book has been ring bound using a hand driven machine, this means when the book has been finished with it is a lot easier to recycle because there wont be any glue down the side meaning the book wont have to be cleaned as much before the paper is reused.

Sketchbook The sketchbook at the back extends the life of the book and is very durable with the ring bound bind. This will mean it will prevent whoever has the book from buying a unnecessary sketchbook, this is in keeping with the theory of Jonathan Chapman.
