CLIFF DRYSDALE PRESENTS: 2020 WIMBLEDON EXPERIENCES
THE WIMBLEDON EXPERIENCE

The Championships at Wimbledon has been known as the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world since its inception in 1877. The sport’s biggest names have all had career defining moments on the lush grass of the All-England Club.

Part of the lore that Wimbledon has created is built upon the tradition and exclusivity the private club has created. Of course, players wear all-white. “A single trim of colour around the neckline and around the cuff of the sleeves is acceptable but must be no wider than one centimetre (10mm),” the policy reads. In 2013, 8 time champion Roger Federer wore shoes that contained a bit too much orange coloring on the out-sole, and he was forced to change them for his next match. The rules at Wimbledon truly apply to everyone. Fans that aim to cross Wimbledon off their bucket list face arguably a larger challenge. Non-UK citizens can enter their name into a ticket ballot, but have a slim chance of actually securing tickets to the days and courts that they hope for. Option two involves the infamous Queue. Thousands of spectators camp out in line just for the chance of securing access to the grounds, with most leaving it up to good fortune.
However, Cliff Drysdale Tennis was pleased to offer in 2019 an exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets, luxury accommodations and hospitality for it’s VIP guests. A number of CDT and Troon clients took advantage of the special offer, and were blown away by the sheer excellence that is Wimbledon.
“Wimbledon was on our bucket list,” said Lori Vaudry, who attended the first week of the Championships. “We had dreamed about getting there. I had never been to London. The entire experience was out of this world. The architecture, the gardens, the food, the people and the culture; it’s all so wonderful. And when you get to Wimbledon itself - it just exudes British hospitality and tradition.”
There are not many places you can visit each year that hold sports history quite like Wimbledon. Many compare the exceptional atmosphere of Augusta National and the Masters to be one of the only equivalents. Watching a match from center court, you can’t help but see visions of McEnroe, Borg, Navratilona, Williams, Federer and the other countless legends that

competed, all while potentially being on hand for a classic of our your own.
The 2019 championships hosted a number of instant classics, including the historic 5 set, 5 hour battle in the Men’s final between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. Simona Halep stunned Serena Williams in the women’s final, capturing her second major title.
And while the Centre Court experience is a must, roaming the grounds and watching matches on the outside courts proved to be a trip highlight for many guests.
“I was absolutely amazed by the talent of young people at the lower courts,” Vaudry said. “And when you watch them you are up front and close. Their talent is unbelievable. Their sprint and their passion for the game is so evident.”
While the strawberries and cream, Pimms and proper fan etiquette are all signature fan experiences, what truly separates Wimbledon is almost impossible to describe unless you’ve stepped foot on the grounds. There is that unmistakable sense of awe and reverence. Walking through the gates you know you are at that sport’s epicenter, a truly special place.
Heading into 2020, Cliff Drysdale Tennis looks forward to offering Wimbledon packages to an even larger number of guests. More than anything else, providing unique, exclusive experiences remains the ultimate goal for the largest tennis management company in the U.S.
“We want everyone who plays tennis with CDT around the world to know that they have premier access to world class events,” said Kimberly Arena, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Cliff Drysdale Tennis. “Customer feedback was great in year one, and we look forward to providing more memorable experiences next year.”
