Greetings Cocoa Beach Residents: Well, spring is upon us! So wonderful to hear the birds chirping and the flowers blooming. This month’s reads are pretty diverse and not my usual curl up on the coach books. My three recommendations this month are a modern-day horror story, a heartfelt memoir where nature, science, and human emotions come together, and a return to the moon by some old favorites.

Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. This horror novel set in Mexico takes the reader on a journey from Mexico City to the countryside home of an Englishman who married the protagonist Noemi’s cousin. Noemi, whose only concerns are what to wear to the next party, is summoned to her cousin’s side in the country for what she thinks is just a brief cheering up.
