"I was always interested in what the world would look like if the library of Alexandria didn't burn down and this is basically - rough saying - the idea behind the book. It is an english book which is based in a quite fictional world so there might be some confusions in the beginning, also because they change the characters each chapter, but, so far it is really interesting and the characters really seem to be very deep and not be stereotypical."

"I read this book because I saw the film several years ago and now wanted to read the book. It totally blew my mind as the story was not totally abstract but rather pretty much something that could happen to any of us because of the writing style. This book really was perfect. As Markus Zusak said "You laugh, you cry and then you come back for more".

"I read it to read something without much action but still with good poetry and language. It's a book about a woman and her garden, and that is also everything there is to say about it. there is not much action, but she wrote it in a dairy kind of way, so it's nice to accompany her in her daily life and simple problems which are described in a not too thrilling way."

"On the surface this book is just another big fantasy novel. However, the worldbuilding is really amazing and you can imagine yourself standing in the places described. The characters are also very compelling and the author conveys the feelings very well. I would recommend it for people who like big fantasy series like Lord of the Rings or A Song of Ice and Fire and who are willing to put in the time for a long series, as this is just the first book of a planned ten-book epic."

"I first gained interest regarding this book when a guy from my school used it as an example in a presentation about exile literature in a German lesson. Even though it was not an accurate example (since it cannot be classified as exile literature), it fascinated me. As a result, my parents got me the book for my birthday and I have been loving it ever since. Be aware though, it is very long."

"I love this series just so much. The story is made for children or young teenagers but I, as an 18 year, old still enjoy reading them so much. They are amazing for all of us Greek-mythology-nerds out there and give us the opportunity to follow the lives of young half-bloods. These books are for everyone who always wanted Zeus, Chiron and co. to be real and through these books you can escape into a world, where this is possible. Also, the characters are AMAZING!"
