In this article, Lena Voelk (DE), journalist for Augsburg International Academic Summer Forum, explores the history of Northern Ireland; a history heavily loaded with oppression, foreign rule and conflicts. The Troubles, being the latest and bloodiest conflict, have seen more than 3.500 deaths amongst them being children, youngsters and civilians. Despite the conflict officially being settled with the Good Friday Agreement the two opposed parties have yet to overcome their different perceptions.
