The Empowerment Project is an initiative from EYP Sweden for youth to have a forum to discuss youth empowerment and engagement and a mentorship programme to receive support and guidance from EYP alumni. It is now time to open a call for a new working group for the Empowerment Project and this is your opportunity for both personal and organisational development. Project Description of The Empowerment Project The Empowerment Project’s aim is to inspire and support young people though mentorship and workshops. The Empowerment Project is coordinated by a working group consisting of elected Members of the European Youth Parliament (EYP) Sweden and representatives of the National Board of EYP Sweden. The Empowerment Project consists of two central parts; The Empowerment Forum and The Mentorship Programme. The Empowerment Forum will consist of lectures and workshops discussing youth empowerment and engagement in civil society to ensure the personal development, belongingness and autonomy for all youth. The forum is open to everyone interested in the lectures and workshops, about for example Youth Advocacy and Leadership etc. The Mentorship Programme is an opportunity for new members to receive support and guidance from EYP Alumni. Each mentor and mentee will be matched though factors of personal preference, geographical distance and level of experience. The role of a mentor is to listen, support, challenge and give advice to the mentee. The mentor is an interested and committed discussion partner that asks reflective questions and give feedback to further the mentees personal development. The Mentorship Programme is a fantastic opportunity for both parties to gain insight into their development and learn from each other. The Empowerment Project is another way to get involved in EYP Sweden outside of the annual conferences and the session-based activities. This project gives opportunities for engagement within the organisation for new members as well as more experienced ones, without having to take on an official position within the organisation.
