FOR MTMs and JURY MEMBERS
SESSION VISION NO MAN IS AN ISLAND - Reducing isolation and increasing communication for a joint European future. Our goal for this session is to emphasise the need for connection through open communication and reducing isolation, both societally and in the session environment. To do this, we have emphasised three essential values - welfare, inclusion, and innovation. We can achieve more together - so join us in building this session and our collective European future. The session welfare vision can be defined as “welfare in practice - not theory”. While awareness about the importance of physical and mental welfare has been growing in the network, welfare measures can sometimes sound fantastic on paper but fall short in implementation; often due to the intense nature of sessions. Our commitment is to make sure that our welfare measures are effective and effectively implemented. To this end, we will be focusing on creating a dynamic and engaged safe team. showing that all regions of Sweden, and by extension Europe, can take part in building our collective future. In order for our future to be truly collective, everyone needs a chance to take part in its creation. At Visby 2023, we want to encourage

SESSION VISION One of the reasons we would like to bring you all to Visby is to highlight the diverse nature of Sweden as a country and to show the value of including our nonmetropolitan areas in activities like EYP, that build engaged citizenship and advocacy skills. Gotland is a beautiful island in both nature and culture, and we look forward to showing that all regions of Sweden, and by extension Europe, can take part in building our collective future. In order for our future to be truly collective, everyone needs a chance to take part in its creation. At Visby 2023, we want to encourage active citizenship, breaking barriers, and increasing communication through building a climate of true inclusion. Visby is known as a mediaeval city surrounded by an ancient stone wall, however, this quaint historical city is also home to ground-breaking innovation. Within the areas of agriculture, tourism, and sustainable development, this island is paving Sweden’s path into the future. Visby also houses Almedalsveckan, a centre for democratic growth and innovation. It is the world's largest meeting place, bringing together representatives from all Swedish parliamentary parties, businesspersons, and participants from all walks of life for a unique annual political conference. We wish to bring this atmosphere to Visby 2023, allowing room for delegates and officials alike to grow, problem-solve, and innovate.

EDITRESS VISION Dear future Editorial Assistant or Media Team Member, I am delighted to be writing this as the Editress of Visby 2023 – 19th National Selection Conference of EYP Sweden. It is a pleasure to be part of the Leadership of this wonderful session that I am sure will be a great success. I am looking for 2 Editorial Assistant and 10 Media Team Members to be part of the session who, together, will be able to unlock their full potential in an open, friendly, and safe environment. Freedom, Creativity and Ownership One of my main objectives is for the members of the Media Team to feel and really have the freedom to create their own projects and develop a personal working style, being able to get out of the conventional and what we have already seen so far. I am looking for individuals willing to innovate, explore and grow as people and as members of EYP. Inter-team Collaboration Sounds obvious right? Although it is something that we all believe is essential and present in our events, I want to ensure that this is one of the main pillars of the dynamics of the team. At every moment, the members of the team will and can count on the help and collaboration of the editorial team and the rest of the Media Team Members. Because of that, I am looking for people up to collaborate and work as a team and not as an individual during the event. Welfare and a Safe Environment One of the main objectives to achieve as an Editress and also as a team is the well-being of the members of my team, creating a safe environment not only when working, but also during the whole session. I want to create a team where everyone feels safe and where they feel they can express their opinions and feelings whenever it is needed without any kind of fear. I cannot wait to read your app! HEAD OF JURY VISION Dear future Jury Members of Visby NSC 2023,
Thank you for reading this! I am so excited for seeing your applications for Visby 2023. My vision for the jury team centres around three things: Approachability, Communication, and Development. Approachability: My vision centres around bridging the divide between the Jury team and the rest of the participants. Jury teams tend to be a scary presence at a session for delegates, so I would like the jury team to remain approachable and relaxed throughout their approach. This will be implemented by team talks, 1-1 feedback and allowing delegates to ask about the work of a Jury member at EYP sessions. I hope the team will be open to bridging this divide, being social with both delegates and officials alike, and willing to take off the “mask” of a scary Jury member and have fun. Communication: Communication between the team and the rest of the officials is crucial for our team to function. I aim to create a strong bond between the team, whether the applicants are new or experienced. I want the team to be open to critical discussion and being open with each other. This will also function between Jury Member and delegates, by the jury team being transparent in our function. Development: At Visby 2023, development of jury members and participants alike is a core element of my vision. As a member of the Jury team, I value a shared learning experience for all, with knowledge sharing and innovation being at the forefront of the Jury’s composition. For this, I envision a flat hierarchy jury team, with each jury member having equal weight into the discussions, and the way in which the team works. Each member will be responsible for spreading knowledge and best practices to the other members of the team. For delegates, I envision this session to be a place of personal development and learning emotional maturity. We will be implementing feedback as to allow the delegates to focus on their strengths and weaknesses, and build upon them. With that, I hope to see your application in the near future. Kind Regards, Luke Bishop, Head of Jury of Visby NSC 2023
