Hidden Hazard

Lighten Up!

The other day I was doing an online assessment. At one point, I was asked to look at a picture of a room and identify all the items that might pose a threat to an individual. For example, a sweater left to dry near a heater could start a fire. Or a person carrying a plate of snacks, walking toward a big wrinkle in the rug, could stumble and fall. I carefully scanned the picture and noted each dangerous situation. Only later did I realize that for me, as a food addict, the most serious threat in the room was the plate of snacks! I thanked God for the neutrality that working my FA program brings me, and I smiled to myself. Only a food addict in recovery could have spotted that last hidden hazard.
