One of the world’s leading luxury catamaran designers and manufacturers –Sunreef Yachts – is to build a fully custom 49m twin-hulled superyacht.

The project will be carried out for a customer represented by Imperial Yachts, one of the most respected superyacht specialists in the industry. The 1350GT craft will be the most voluminous luxury catamaran ever launched and the biggest superyacht made in Poland so far.

Entirely manufactured at the Sunreef Yachts’ facilities in the city of Gdansk, the 49m multi-hull marries cutting-edge engineering and radical naval design. The tri-deck concept incorporates extremely vast outdoor living areas made possible thanks to the yacht’s broad 17m beam. The yacht will be operated by 17 crew. Luxurious accommodation is provided for up to 10 guests.

Francis Lapp – Founder and President of Sunreef Yachts, said: “An exciting journey begins for us as we team up with Imperial Yachts on this fantastic project. Sunreef Yachts is a trend-setting catamaran shipyard, specialising in luxury multihull design and build.

“Large, custom-built crafts in our fleet include vessels over 100ft,” he added. “With this new concept we engage in an ambitious endeavour to build a yacht that the industry has never seen before.

The low drag and efficiency provided by the vessel’s twin-hull design will allow an autonomy of over 5000nm with 90 000L of fuel capacity. Powered by twin 3400 HP MTU engines, the catamaran superyacht will carry three tenders and a wide selection of watertoys and PWC’s.

Imperial Yachts will act as advisor throughout the build process of this catamaran-superyacht due for delivery in the second half of 2021.

The first images instantly make clear that the world’s number one superyacht builder has again raised the bar for pure custom perfection.

Project 703 – her name will officially be announced at the time of the launch – is a Feadship of firsts in various ways, not least the fact that this is the inaugural new-build superyacht commissioned by the owners. This striking 75-metre motoryacht is also the first Feadship to be drawn by Jonny Horsfield and his team at the H2 Yacht Design studio in London, which is a mighty fine way to celebrate 25 years in the business.

“The cooperation between these parties, the yard in Aalsmeer and De Voogt Naval Architects has been exceptionally smooth,” said Feadship director Henk de Vries. “It illustrates how we can leverage on our immense experience with fully custom yachts to ensure owners and their representatives feel confident about the major investments involved and actually enjoy the process. Project manager Mark Jansen has an innate ability to invest in the relationships that form the heart of a bespoke build like this, and Project 703 has brought out the best in everyone involved.”

The result is a striking Feadship with a complex exterior featuring elegant sculpted elements and shapes.

Richly decorated in an architectural way which is entirely in tune with the exterior, more information on Project 703’s interior will be released at a later stage. What will never be seen but very soon be heard is the success of the unprecedented sound attenuation work that went into making this Feadship as quiet as possible, including the noise transmission between the living spaces.

Another fabulous new Feadship has seen the light of day as she moved out of her construction hall in Aalsmeer ready for sea trials ahead of the official launch ceremony.

CONTEMPORARY CRN M/Y 138

This new one-off yacht, the 138 is the fruit of a collaboration between CRN, Omega Architects, for her exterior profile, and Pulina Exclusive Interiors who are shaping the spaces inside.

The 62-metre CRN M/Y 138 hull is a composition of flowing, sporty lines that form the leitmotif of the concepts developed by Frank Laupman, head of Dutch design studio Omega Architects. One of the things that makes this megayacht unique is the inimitable zest for the on-board lifestyle that imbues her indoor living areas, courtesy of the in-depth experience of Italian designers and architects Pulina Exclusive Interiors.

The M/Y 138 layout has been devised to make the most of all the spaces, set off by the sophisticated wall décor that instantly attracts the eye when you step on board. The generous living and dining areas, the owner’s suite and the cabins all reflect an enlightened contemporary living concept, where the comfort is enhanced by chic details, premium materials and a colour palette of subtle natural tones. The large windows, like the 180° glazing in the owner’s suite, flood every room with natural light while offering breathtaking views of the surrounding seascapes, for a real explorer feel.

Dutch luxury yacht builder Amels and Damen has sold its first Amels 60 superyacht within two months of launching the brand new 60-metre Amels Limited Editions design.

The Amels 60 with hybrid power and propulsion technology has an Espen Øino exterior design. The yacht is now under construction for delivery in spring 2022.

“Since we introduced our new Amels 60 design at the end of the summer, we’ve been blown away by the market’s reaction,” says Amels and Damen Managing Director, Rose Damen. “The fast sale of the first yacht is very rewarding for everyone in our design, engineering and project teams who have worked so hard on the AMELS 60 during the last few years. We’re very proud of the design and excited about building this new yacht for her owner.”

The AMELS 60 stands out with a huge open Sun Deck, 9-metre luxury tender, a generous interior volume of 830 Gross Tonnage and her distinctive Espen Øino signature lines. Construction of the second AMELS 60 will begin soon.

110 SUNREEF POWER

Sunreef Yachts proudly announces the signing of a contract for a 33,5m custom multihull superyacht, the 110 Sunreef Power.

In-house designed and manufactured at the Sunreef Yachts shipyard in Poland, the multihull craft boasts an original 4-deck concept inspired by the supercar industry. Generous accommodation is provided for 8 guests with a layout including three vast guest rooms and a master suite with access to a private terrace on the bridge deck. The outdoor relaxation areas of the 110 Sunreef Power will also comprise a sun deck lounge with a spa pool, fire pit and bar, a forward terrace with oversized sunpads and an aft cockpit seamlessly transitioning into the immense main deck saloon.

Powered by twin 1361HP engines, the yacht will be operated by 9 crew. The garage of the 110 Sunreef Power accommodates for the tender, two large PWC’s and a variety of watertoys. The 499GT craft is due for a late 2021 delivery.

The superyacht’s superstructure (main deck and sun deck) have been successfully joined to the hull, adding another milestone to this highly anticipated project. This sandwich-construction and smart module thinking that Gulf Craft is utilizing will make the build schedule shorter and more efficient.

The hull was first released from the mold in the first quarter of this year marking the fast progress Gulf Craft retains into its production facility. The superyacht is scheduled for completion by March 2020.

Majesty 120 is the first-ever Majesty Yacht model to have its onboard equipment completely electrically powered, with no hydraulic systems being used. The engines and generators will remain powered by conventional diesel methods. By doing so, Gulf Craft has created a noisefree environment as well as a more efficient construction process that leads to a care-free maintenance lifespan for every owner.

Introduced at the Monaco Yacht Show 2019, the superyacht’s exterior angular lines and contemporary styling is drawn by the shipyard’s in-house design team which follows the new DNA of Majesty Yachts – Superyacht Collection. One of the star features onboard is the vast sun deck space, which is 30% larger than yachts in its class. The interior design of the Majesty 120 comes from the creative board of Cristiano Gatto Design Team.

At the time of delivery, the Majesty 120 will have a Gross Tonnage of 290 GT. The superyacht will be powered by twin MTU 2,600 hp each. The total length of the Majesty 120 is 37 metres (120’), has a beam of 8.10 metres (26’) and a draft of 2.00 metres (7’). Onboard, the Majesty 120 accommodates up to 11 guests across five spacious staterooms in an inventive asymmetric layout - a first of its kind.

Classic lines and comfort like at home for a model that maximizes the pleasure of sailing with elegance and style: it is the Ferretti Yachts 920 Pure, a restyling unveiled in a global reveal at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2019. The project philosophy reflects the perfect timeless Ferretti Yachts style, indelible for over 50 years, and the “just like home” comfort of the new campaign. The layout and technical characteristics remain the same for the maxi flybridge (28.49 metres LOA), immediately striking with its sporty, dynamic profile. Ferretti Yachts 920 Pure stands out for the new lines of the interiors, which are cleaner, softer, and more essential, and the materials, which are simpler and more refined.

INTERIORS

The warm colours of the new materials and fabrics make the atmosphere onboard more welcoming than ever. The white lacquered ceilings combine beautifully with the bleached oak floors, the leather upholstered furniture, the details in sand, cashmere, and sepia colour, and the light-coloured marble. A chromatic harmony that comes to life through the careful selection of a reduced number of materials, essential and refined, and the furniture by well-known designer brands.

MAIN DECK

The lounge, with bleached oak parquet flooring, is furnished entirely by Minotti: from the L-shaped sofa of the Alexander collection in the cord colour, to the Prince armchair that, though reflecting the classic design of the ’50s, fits in perfectly, also thanks to the dark leather upholstery combined with the Damier ottoman that gives the space a note of character.

The composition of the lounge is completed by a coffee table with a strong sculptural imprint: Shields, which like yin and yang joins the two sides of the yacht, refined and modern, and whose particular cylindrical shape creates a play of black and white that characterises the two offset semicircles. Evoking the play of contrasts and shades, the Waves coffee table, with painted aluminium structure – Sand or Light Bronze outside, Pewter inside – and a smoked grey glass top, is a direct and engaging reference to the undulating profile of ocean waves.

In the Ferretti Yachts 920 PURE, as in its predecessor, the raised forward section of the hull enabled the introduction of the widebody master suite on the main deck. The bed has been completely redesigned to give a new level of comfort and elegant lines. Supported by a structure with base in striated walnut topped with a light-coloured leather finish, the bed is enriched by the Minotti fabrics used for the pillows and headboard in grey shades. A large mirror over the bed emphasises the generous size of the cabin. The furnishing is completed by a spacious walk-in closet with built-in lighting and a completely extractable shoe rack, and the Creed sofa by Minotti in the ocean blue colour, a clear evocation of the seascape that can be admired from the large windows with a stunning view on the outside.

LOWER DECK

The guests’ area of the lower deck has three large en suite cabins: a full-beam double suite aft, worthy of being called a master cabin, and a second VIP suite on the port side. A comfortable third cabin with single beds completes the sleeping area. The furnishings in these cabins and in their bathrooms, though with their own specific customisations, feature the same interplay of materials and colours as the upper deck, including the Minotti headboards in graphite-colour Kabuki fabric used in the master cabin. Special attention is paid to the crew: in addition to a dinette with laundry area, the captain can enjoy a private cabin, and the crew are housed in two double

cabins with a shared bathroom fitted with separate shower.

EXTERIORS

The exterior areas offer an impressive amount of spaces for relaxation and luxurious furnishings, both built- in and freestanding, the latter by the Italian outdoor furniture brand Roda. The forward area is the largest ever on a Ferretti Yachts vessel of this size. The sun pad on the deckhouse leads into a dinette fitted with two forward-facing sofas –divided by a passageway – and a pair of sofas with adjustable backrests along the bulwark. This creates a large lounge, complete with coffee tables, which can be protected and shaded by a sun canopy upon request. The flybridge is a panoramic deck dedicated to relaxation, especially in the centre and at the stern. The spacious dining area features a table from the Light Pier collection, with a top made of teak slats combined with tubular steel legs painted with a milk-white finish. The dining area is completed by eight comfortable chairs from the Piper line available in the version with teak seat, white tubular aluminium structure, and sand-coloured Batyline fabric upholstery and white cushions. At the stern is the Submersible Hatch, the famous system used to move the garage door and swimming platform, offering guests all the comfort of a spacious beach club and allowing the crew to easily manage a tender measuring up to four metres long.

The result is a yacht that offers an unrivalled sensation of well-being under sail that accompanies the guests through all the spaces, thus becoming a true luxury villa on the water.

Royal Huisman’s largest yacht ever was commissioned by the Owner of SEA EAGLE (Royal Huisman, 2015, 43m / 142ft), who reaffirmed his confidence in the ability of the shipyard to build his ultimate dream-yacht, an 81m / 266ft truly breathtaking contemporary three-masted schooner. Together with Dykstra Naval Architects and designer Mark Whiteley, Royal Huisman made this grand aspiration into a striking reality, keeping their promise of “If you can dream it, we can build it”.

Project 400 is progressing on schedule; her carbon composite Rondal Panamax rig will be installed upon launch at Royal Huisman Amsterdam to ready her for sea trials and onboard crew training. With an imposing overall length and sturdy plumb bow - making her not only powerful but recognizable all over the world - SEA EAGLE II will be ranked among the top 10 of the world’s largest sailing yachts. Upon delivery to her Owner this spring, Sea Eagle II will be the world’s largest aluminium sailing yacht.

The Royal Huisman team and Project 400: always a special and emotional moment to say farewell before a superyacht creation leaves her home in Vollenhove. In total, 21 yachts were either new constructions or refit projects for Royal Huisman and Huisfit in 2019. The team is now more flexible capacity-wise than ever before, working in close collaboration with selected and highly qualified co-makers for specific projects in Vollenhove, Amsterdam and flexible locations. Ferrari have outdone themselves with their latest contribution to sports car perfection. Let’s take a drive in the F8 Tributo…

There are a handful of motor vehicle brands whose names, when mentioned, create a sense of excitement and expectation. Ferrari is certainly one of these and have been thrilling sports car enthusiasts for many decades with their hugely impressive creations. When we at Hadag Magazine were offered the opportunity to test drive the all-new 2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo, compliments of the fantastic team at Euro Motors, we could hardly wait to get behind the wheel.

As the F8 Tributo came into view, we just stood for a few minutes, slowly absorbing the sheer beauty of this two-door, premium sports car. It was immediately obvious that aerodynamics had been of the utmost importance when this model was designed. The purpose of the sleek yet aggressive appearance of the Tributo is clearly performance based, with every convex and concave having been configured with this objective in mind.

The roof and doors have been carried over from the 488 GTB. Other than that, everything else has been specifically designed for the F8 Tributo. Ferrari has increased the overall downforce of the vehicle by 10%. This has been achieved through various improvements to the exterior including the notable S-duct situated at the front of the vehicle, along with the air vents located above the headlamps that feed across the front wheels. The 20-inch, silver accented, alloy wheels add to the car’s already impressive appearance, whilst the new air

intakes positioned at the rear flanks ensure an improved combustion process. The presence of a blown rear spoiler as well as a rear diffuser are both major contributors to this model’s increased aerodynamic efficiency. These enhancements to the body along with the flowing nature of the external design, clearly state the outstanding capabilities of this vehicle long before the ignition is engaged.

Once inside the vehicle, another long pause was required, this time to soak up the internal splendour of Ferraris latest offering. The entire interior exudes class of a premium standard with quality materials, trimmings and finishes throughout, including the attractive carbon fibre accents. The soft leather, standard seats have been restyled and offer exceptional comfort as well as a low-slung driving position, placing the driver precisely at the centre of operations. Technical features include an integrated navigation system and two LCD monitors. The new generation, smaller diameter steering wheel and steering wheel-mounted controls ensure a convenient and interactive driving experience. All of the primary controls have been placed within range of your fingers and/or thumbs adding to the functionality of the F8. The windscreen, complete with rain sensing wipers, is both wide and deep, providing an ideal forward view for driving at speed. With this in mind, we decided it was time to get out on the tarmac.

As soon as we started it up, the roar from this mid-rear-engined sports car bellowed throughout the parking area giving everyone in the vicinity an instant smile. The F8 Tributo houses a powerful V8 - 90° twin turbo, 8-cylinder engine, providing an overall displacement of 3902 ccs, as well as 530 kW of power and 770 Nm of torque. This translates to a top speed of 340 km/h! This rocket of a vehicle has the capacity to surge from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds! As we pressed down on the accelerator, we could feel the g-forces pushing us back into our seats as we left our stomachs somewhere on the road behind us. Despite the intimidating speed on offer, this car is hugely responsive and handles magnificently thanks to the weight reduction and improved

ROYALTY ON THE ROAD FROM PORSCHE

The Porsche 911 family welcomes a new member to its eighth generation; the 2020 4S Carrera Coupé.

Whenever the Hadag team finds out that Porsche has received a new model for us to test drive, we can hardly wait to get behind the wheel. This was certainly the case when we learned of the new Porsche 911 2020 4S Carrera Coupé. Being the avid Porsche enthusiasts that we are, we knew we were in for a serious treat with this new member of the automobile royal family. As soon as the Carrera Coupé came into view we had to pause to take in the sheer beauty of this machine. Although the overall exterior design is instantly recognisable as a 911, it was immediately obvious that subtle yet noticeable improvements have been introduced with this 2020 model. To begin with, all of the flowing body lines have been enhanced giving this Carrera a wider appearance to its predecessors. The width has been accentuated by the thick black grilles located both at the front and at the rear, both of which run the full breadth of the vehicle. The bonnet too looks to be slightly larger, sharper and wider, complimented by shapely air vents located underneath, that automatically open and close when required. The fog and daytime running lights are present in the form of LED strips that look uber modern and add to the sleek look of the exterior.

A novel feature of the flanks are the tucked in, electronic handles on the two doors that pop out when you unlock or place your hand next to them. 20-inch, high performance wheels are located on the front axil with 21-inch versions located on the rear axil. At the rear end, with its wide hips, the tail lights spread across the entire width of the vehicle, whilst the raised silver Porsche 911 lettering adds yet another touch of class. The stylish spoiler lies flat until it raises up automatically at a certain speed or manually at the touch of a button. The back glass extends to the very top of the 911, whilst a third break light buried in the vents by the engine bay, adds another unique feature.

Once inside the cockpit, it was clear that the class of the 911’s exterior flowed into the interior. All materials, finishing and trimmings used are of premium quality as is expected of any vehicle bearing the Porsche crest. The infotainment system includes a 10.9inch touchscreen display, comprehensive connectivity and innovative assistance systems. The front seats were exceptionally comfortable and provide the driver with an optimal driving position. The rear seating area is significantly smaller than the front, however it is perfect for children, making this vehicle practical for everyday family use. These rear seats can be folded down to provide some internal storage space when required. This being a rear-engine designed vehicle, the boot is located under the hood and this space provided allows you to store one decent sized item of luggage.

Once we were out on the tarmac, the fun really began. This new 992 redesigned Porsche 911 boasts a 3.0 litre, six-cylinder boxer engine with biturbo charging that generates 442hp. Power transmission is handled by the new eight-speed dual clutch transmission (PDK). This provides the 2020 model a top speed of 316 km/h and allows it to bullet from 0 - 100km/h in just 3.4 seconds! That’s the fastest ever from a 911. 330-millimetre brake disks with four-piston monobloc fixed callipers provide the stopping power and help you to keep full control of the vehicle. The handling of the 2020 model has been enhanced since previous models and the car stayed glued to the road even on even the sharpest of corners.

You have the option of five different driving modes including Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, Individual and Wet. The Wet mode is all new for the 992 series and works through sensors in the wheel wells that listen to the road conditions and can sense when it is wet outside. The GT style steering wheel felt perfect in hand throughout and gave us a hint of how racing drivers must feel when applying their trade. A host of high-end safety features and cameras help to ensure that you and your passengers always arrive safely at your desired destination. All-in-all this was perhaps the fastest sports car we have had the privilege of experiencing, but it was the comfortability factor, flawless performance and overall sense of control that really made this new 911 stand out from all the rest.

When it comes to luxury vehicle design, there are few manufacturers that can compete with the Maserati brand. This statement is proven through their continuous bold and beautiful designs such as the new Maserati Levante S GranLusso.

Maserati entered the SUV market in recent years where the origional Levante models soon proved to be a huge success. Their latest offering is set to improve on their now already established foothold in the premium SUV market.

The exterior of the GranLusso clearly showcases the Maserati DNA throughout. The imposing signature grille has been designed to make an immediate visual impact and pays homage to historical Maserati models such as the Tipo 60 Birdcage. The muscular shape of the vehicle’s shoulders gives it a distinctive and attractive style that only the Italians can provide. Porsche and BOSS: two iconic German companies united by a commitment to design, innovation, precision, and quality. As part of ongoing collaboration, Spring/Summer 2020 sees the launch of the latest capsule collection of BOSS clothing and shoes inspired by Porsche’s car designs.

Situated on the third floor of the hotel, Azura is accessed via a series of stairways that leads visitors past the shimmering waters of the hotel swimming pool and up onto a small terrace that offers some of the finest views in the capital. Thanks to a prominent corniche location, Azura is a great choice for impressing out of town guests with sweeping views taking in Emirates Palace, Marina Mall and a long sandy swathe of the corniche beach. We’d suggest an early reservation to catch the sunset over the Arabian Gulf and watch the city light up as day turns to night.

Much of Azura’s charm comes from the compact nature of the venue which provides diners with an intimacy and a sense of exclusivity that is not found at many locations in Abu Dhabi. Sat beneath a canopy with the sea breeze on your face is certainly enjoyable and with comfortable seating and a varied bar menu, guests are encouraged to linger and enjoy the surroundings.

This unhurried approach is refreshing and extends to the service-style which is amiable and comfortable with good recommendations for both food and beverages shared with assured confidence by the team on the floor. It’s been at least a year since we last visited and we’re excited by the new menu which sticks with the Mediterranean concept while offering a selection of exciting new dishes.

The Azura signature table grills are a popular choice on the evening we dine, with the buckets of either meat or seafood served to the table amidst billows of smoke in an enticing show of dinner theatrics. These are certainly meant for sharing and we mark these down in memory for a future visit.

Azura’s menu has wisely been kept short and succinct allowing the culinary team to focus on a smaller number of dishes executed to perfection. Expect a couple of soups (lentil or seafood gumbo) amongst the six additional appetisers. There’s something for everyone with mussels, king crab and baked oysters all represented. We, however, select the octopus carpaccio which presents thin slices of octopus tendril with peach cubes, confit potato and a sweet tamarind dressing, the resulting plate is a flavour sensation and one that should not be missed.

Being Mediterranean inspired, the main courses are mainly centred around seafood with whole rainbow trout or mahi mahi making for appealing choices. The black cod with miso is executed well and offers an extremely tender piece of fish enhanced by an Asian dressing that boasts an unexpected fiery kick.

Desserts feature a rose and raspberry pavlova, a blueberry creme brulee and our personal preference, the Galaktoboureko. The Greek dessert may be difficult to pronounce but is well worth the effort, for the reward is a semolina custard topped with a crisp filo crust that is as alluring as it is addictive. This rooftop establishment is perfect for the current winter months and impresses thanks to the new food offering which has raised the bar to new heights at this 5-star property.
