PRESCRIPTION
A precious elderly lady in Coffee County, who had been very active in her church and her community, experienced a decline in her health. She was able to still live on her own, but she was unable to leave her home due to her physical limitations. As the family checked on their loved one, they noticed a tremendous decline in her spirit. Her son thought of a great prescription that would aid in her downturn. He went to the store, purchased a radio, and placed this new radio beside her bed with it tuned to Faith Radio’s broadcast. Within days, as the family visited her, they noticed a tremendous uplift in her spirit. She radiated the joy of the Lord! She had
4
been able to worship and sing along with the radio. She had heard sermons that brought her closer to God. The messages on Faith Radio had helped her to do what it says in Colossians 3:2, “Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.” We want to encourage you to use this story as a great ministry tip: Look for an opportunity to give someone a gift of a radio or smart speaker device. This simple tool can enhance and boost someone’s spirit by helping them to do Philippians 4:8, “…if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things.”

CULTURAL CHANGE
by Generosity by Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations Are you a generous person? How can you cultivate a cultural change by being generous? Generosity flows out of a heart that treasures the Lord above all else. God has given us much so that we can give more, share more, and do more. Your generosity to Faith Radio not only fuels us financially but also helps us make investments in countless lives. Your generosity enables Faith Radio to go out and support other ministries in our community. We learn from listening to our programmers about cultivating a spirit of generosity. Chip Ingram, heard on Living on the Edge, shared, “The Bible teaches that the wisest thing we can do with our resources is to learn to invest them in His Kingdom; and that becoming a generous person is the smartest way to prepare for an eternal future.” We want to encourage you to be in prayer for the Lord to give you a generous spirit!
Have you considered making an eternal impact through an estate gift? Contact us to discuss the benefits of including Faith Radio in your estate plan.

faces We always enjoy being out and about in the community! The Pike Road Arts and Crafts show provides us an opportunity each year to give out balloons to our listeners and see the beautiful smiles of children. We are thankful for the many volunteers who help us with these special events, and we enjoy meeting each of you who visit our booth.
The Christmas crosses provide our ministry with many places to shine for Christ. It takes a great group of volunteers to make and assemble the crosses. We are thankful for some boys at Trinity Presbyterian School in Montgomery and a group of men from the SMART team ministry at First Baptist Montgomery for helping make this project a great success!

SEEING CULTUR AL TRENDS THROUGH A
BIBLICAL LENS
by Bob Crittenden, Director of Special Projects We can recognize the sufficiency of Scripture to speak not only to how we can live our individual lives to the glory of God, as disciples of Jesus Christ, but also to how we can address issues that are confronting our culture. You will hear a variety of programs on Faith Radio that will help equip you to have a Christian worldview perspective.
Preeminence of Scripture
It is important that believers in Christ allow the Word to govern the way we see the world around us. 2 Timothy 3:16 is clear: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” God’s Word reflects God’s heart and directs us in His ways. In our analysis of cultural trends, it is critical that we begin with the Word, not our own ideas. We must submit to the authority of God’s Word and conform our views to the Word, rather than conforming the Word to our views.
Power of Prayer
We are instructed to pray for our authorities so that we might be free to live 8
our lives according to God’s principles. Fortunately, in America, we have religious freedom under our Constitution, which allows us to witness for Christ without restriction. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 says: “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”
Protection for Life
A key element that Scripture teaches is that God is the Creator of all life. Human beings are image bearers of God and are therefore worthy of life. It is vital that we actively protect all life, both the born and unborn. Jeremiah 1:5 affirms God’s view of life in the FAITH RADIO’S MINISTRY MAGAZINE
womb: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” We can develop an attitude toward human life, including the lives of the unborn, that is consistent with that of our Creator God.
Preservation of Marriage
God’s view toward human life and His establishment of the institution of marriage are found in Genesis. Jesus referred to God’s creative act of Adam and Eve and His ordination of marriage in Mark 10:6-9: “But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” There are three critical teachings in the area of sexuality in this powerful passage: 1) God has created two distinct genders: male and female, 2) the marriage relationship is defined as one man and one woman in a oneflesh relationship, 3) and God intends marriage to be a permanent union.
Participation in Financial Stewardship
The Bible speaks of being good stewards of the resources that God has given to us. We are taught to avoid 1) selfishness, 2) debt, and 3) irresponsibility. We are challenged in Scripture to be charitable and to put the needs of others above our own. We can read in 2 Corinthians 9:7: “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”
are not spending more than we make. Proverbs 22:7b says: “the borrower is servant to the lender.” We are also to be responsible stewards. One area of responsibility involves rejecting gambling. In 1 Timothy 6:9-10, we can read: “But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
Parental Rights and Responsibilities
Scripture is clear about the responsibility that Christian parents have to raise their children according to the principles of Scripture. Deuteronomy 6:6-7a underscores parents’ responsibility to teach the Word to their children: “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children.”
Preference of Leaders
Christians can be devoted to the selection of leaders who reflect their deeply held beliefs. It is important that Christians make a prayerful and informed choice when we vote. Proverbs 29:2 states, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.”
Conclusion
We are also called to be sure that we
We live in an age in which those responsible to serve as lawmakers have championed laws and ordinances that contradict Scripture. For instance, since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, there has been a consistent effort to violate the Scripture’s teaching on the sanctity of life by expanding

9
abortion. God’s sexual principles in areas such as gender and marriage are being aggressively opposed by people in authority. There are also regular attempts to expand gambling under the auspices of raising revenue, with proponents wrongly arguing that the ends justify the means. However, we recognize that God’s ways are good, and there are good laws that can be
championed by leaders who have their constituencies’ best interests at heart. Faith Radio has been dedicated to keeping you informed about efforts to uphold, as well as undermine, Scripture. We will be diligent in continuing to do so, in order that the body of Christ can be involved in speaking out in accordance with God’s truth.

“TOP 10 TOPICS” HIGHLIGHTS ISSUES OF RELEVANCE by Bob Crittenden, host of The Meeting House Regularly on The Meeting House on Faith Radio, you’ll hear the words, “the intersection of faith and culture.” One major element of the program is a focus on current issues from a Christian worldview perspective. Around the beginning of each year, I present “Top 10 Topics” impacting the Christian community. Here are examples of topics I covered on the program in 2023: • 303 Creative decision undergirds freedom to communicate messages that reflect faith convictions Lorie Smith is a graphic designer who operates 303 Creative in Colorado. Smith filed suit against the state of Colorado, which was using a law to potentially force her to communicate a message with which she does not agree. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled in her favor, holding that Colorado cannot force a website designer to create a website when the creative expression embodies a message with which the designer disagrees. The Alliance Defending Freedom represented Smith and its attorney, Kristin Waggoner, stated on the ADF website: “The U.S. Supreme Court rightly reaffirmed that the government can’t force Americans to say things they don’t believe. The court reiterated that it’s unconstitutional for the state to eliminate from the public square ideas it dislikes, including the belief that marriage is the union of husband and wife.” At the 2023 National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Orlando, I spoke with Smith, along with New York photographer Emilee Carpenter, whose case against a similar FAITH RADIO’S MINISTRY MAGAZINE
law in New York state could be impacted by the 303 Creative outcome. ADF Senior Counsel Kellie Fiedorek also participated in the discussion. • Christians face unprecedented age of exclusion Cancel culture, combined with the increase in technology being used to monitor personal behavior, is a potentially toxic mix for Christians. Investment and banking decisions that do not line up with unbiblical, “progressive” points of view, as well as employment decisions that prevent Christians from obtaining or maintaining their jobs, are becoming more prevalent. Christians find themselves prevented from expressing their faith in the workplace. At NRB 2023, Star Parker, Founder of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education, described a “totalitarian philosophy,” represented by those who wish to control Christian speech and “supplant the Church,” that says, “we control not just…your thinking, we control your behavior, [we] control everything about what you do.” She said, “it’s hard for Christians to navigate through that - especially in America - to be now ‘the persecuted Church.’ This is a big, hard ask for the Christian to be in that seat that says, ‘you say the wrong thing, you lose your job.’” From evidence of revival in the hearts of young people (Asbury to Auburn), to a court challenge to the distribution of the abortion pill, to how Christians respond to technological trends like AI, there is much about which we should be aware and devoted to prayer and responsible action. 11
2023
YEAR IN REVIEW As we look back at 2023 and give God the glory for all He allows us to do, we want to thank you for your prayers and financial support of our ministry work. While our radio signal and internet streaming runs strong 24/7, helping thousands to grow their faith without commercials, we are blessed to be much more than a radio station. We are thankful to be active in the community in many ways, providing prayer and encouragement, while also inviting others to tune in. Here are a few snapshots of our many opportunities to be the sweet aroma of Christ in the community during this last year:
Praying with neighborhood leaders and pastors.
Praying for pastor groups and encouraging them in their ministry work. This last year, we were very blessed by the many donations from our listeners. Thank you for your sacrificial gifts to help support the spreading of God’s Word! In addition to your cash gifts, stock gifts, vehicle donations, and estate gifts, we were also blessed with some property donations. Thank you for considering any of these types of gifts to help support our ministry.

Marriage was designed by God, and we daily share encouragement for families that is based on the truth of God’s Word. We are blessed to share about many marriage conference opportunities that help cultivate marriages, and always enjoy Family Life’s “Weekend to Remember” when it comes to our community.
In our over 300 interviews per year hosted by Bob Crittenden, a few of our most favored were recorded in person at events we attend. Pictured here are Jeff Schreve of From His Heart, Star Parker of the Center for Urban Renewal and Education (CURE), Lee Strobel as he discussed the book, Is God Real?, and Jim and Rosemary Garlow of Well Versed. All of these interviews are available to listen to on our website and smartphone APP. Leading during the National Day of Prayer, an important day for our nation and our ministry, as we encourage our listeners to gather and pray for those in authority over us. We also have many of our pastors and prayer leaders in the community to share prayers on the radio throughout this most special day.

SERVING AND GIVING by Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations The Bible tells us in Matthew 20:28 that “the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” The words “serve” and “give” are at the heart of the Christian life. Jesus wants us to look like Him, and we look most like Him when we are serving and giving. Faith Radio is here to help transform you into the image of Jesus through our ministry programs and worship music. Did you know that you can serve the Lord and others by contributing financially to the work God is doing through this ministry? When you give to Faith Radio, you are honoring the Lord and also helping build His Kingdom by building up believers. Would you consider serving alongside us in this new year by giving a gift to the Lord through Faith Radio?
