Stapleton is one of the older waterfront neighbourhoods of the boroughIt was a long-time commercial centre of the island but has struggled to revive after several decades of neglect following the 1964 construction of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, which shifted the commercial development of the island to its interior” Wikipedia.

‘The vortex is the point of maximum energy’ wrote the American poet Ezra Pound.

The design aims to revive the area by establishing a mixed-use development that could allow the area to regain its position as a focal point and connect it to New York City.

The scope of work that we covered throughout this project was vast, and these are some examples of the studies and diagrams that we did along the way. The works varied from the Urban studies on different scales, starting from the metropolitan and ending in the neighbourhood scale.

The work also included focusing on the plans, sections, elevations and also detailed landscape.
