Flamenco Flotante or Floating Flamenco is an idea to reflect the spontaneous movement of flamenco all around Alhambra.
This idea aims to float the three different sites on the existing fabric of Alhambra according to their necessity and desire. We can say, our intention is to coexist with nature, with old and new. To merge well, sometimes the project floats over the foliage, sometimes over the ruins.
With respect to the splendid nature, age-old trees and history, we have restricted ourselves in terms of footprint and material.
An optimum footprint with carbon-negative material ensures this project lessens the negative impact on mother nature. Side by side, we have also tried to resonate Alhambra in an abstract way, i.e., the repetitiveness of the columns in the allies of Alhambra synchronized with the movement of the dancers, beats of the music and dense green around.
