GIULIA FARESIN OPERATIONS MANAGER

iulia Faresin, laureata in ingegneria gestionale al Politecnico di Milano, è in azienda dal 2013. Dopo un periodo di formazione in varie aree dell’azienda, diviene Operations Manger nel 2015. Giulia sta guidando lo sviluppo dei processi industriali alla base della crescita di Faresin Industries di questi anni. E’ inoltre presidente dei Giovani Imprenditori di Confindustria Vicenza dal 2018. Un ruolo al quale si dedica con grande passione e senso di responsabilità sociale. In questo suo ruolo istituzionale è stata una protagonista molto attiva della di comunicazione di Confindustria Vicenza. iulia Faresin graduated in Management Engineering at the Milan Polytechnic, she started in Faresin Industries in 2013. After the first period acquiring a variety of different skills from 2015 she the Operations Manager. Further to that she is now the president of the Gruppo Giovani Imprenditori di Confindutsria Vicenza (Young Entrepreneurs of Confindustria Vicenza). In this institutional role she has been always leading the communication of Confindustria Vicenza. ari lettori, in questo 2020 e 2021 così diversi e sfidanti per tutti noi, torna il Faresin Magazine. Anche in questa edizione vogliamo condividere con voi successi, visione e progetti perché voi siete al centro del nostro mondo. Per un’azienda digitalmente avanzata, come Faresin Industries, pubblicare il magazine in versione cartacea e digitale sono una scelta non solo di comunicazione, ma anche di vicinanza autentica con partner, clienti e stakeholder. Nell’epoca digitale tutte le informazioni hanno infatti vita brevissima; spesso addirittura scompaiono dai nostri dispositivi pochi giorni dopo la lettura, mentre un magazine si può leggere nei tempi che preferiamo, a volte rileggendo con calma le pagine che più ci interessano. Una modalità no-stress di informarsi, ideale per chi vive i tempi della stalla o del cantiere e preferisce farlo nei momenti di relax, magari riflettendoci un po’. Oltre ad una serie di flash ed esperienze dal mondo Faresin Industries, in questa edizione, abbiamo pensato di dare spazio ad articoli informativi ed interessanti che toccano il nostro core business: i DOSSIER FARESIN. In questo numero esordiamo con i primi due: Benessere animale e produttività, Il futuro elettrico e sostenibile delle macchine operatrici.

Vi racconteremo inoltre la nostra risposta alla pandemia, grazie all’approccio di azienda Integrata che ci caratterizza, siamo riusciti a dare continuità alla produzione tutelando la salute dei dipendenti e delle loro famiglie. ear Readers, In this strange 2020 and 2021, so very different and challenging for us all, Faresin Magazine is back. And just like our previous editions, we’d like to share our success stories, vision and plans, because it is you who are at the centre of our world. For a digitally advanced company such as Faresin Industries, the decision to publish a printed and digital magazine is not only about communication, but also authentic, palpable relations with our partners, clients and stakeholders. In the digital era, information is in fact very short-lived, often disappearing from our devices a few days after being read. Magazines on the other hand can be read whenever we like, with the freedom to re-read the sections that most caught our attention later on. A stress-free way of staying informed, ideal for those on a farm or work site schedule who prefer to do so in their free time, with the chance to reflect on what they read. In addition to a series of flashes and experiences from the Faresin Industries world, we wanted this edition to also include a focus on informative and interesting articles that touch on our core business: the FARESIN DOSSIER. In this issue we introduce the first two: Animal well-being and productivity , the electric and sustainable future of public works vehicles.

We will also tell you about our response to the pandemic, whereby, thanks to our defining Integrated company approach, we have managed to ensure the continuity of production, protecting the health of our workers and their families. You will also find a surprise - true to our style - regarding a new entrepreneurial adventure driven by passion: the production of high-quality organic wines. Needless to say, an edition overflowing with contents, which looks to the future with optimism, the “optimism of reason” as our president writes in his letter introducing the 2019 Annual Report. a tecnologia è tale quando aiuta a migliorare le condizioni di vita dell’uomo. La ricerca e la concreta innovazione tecnologica sono i propulsori del progresso. Stiamo vivendo l’alba di una nuova epoca che modifica ulteriormente la definizione di tecnologia grazie alla consapevolezza che solo perseguendo la sostenibilità potremmo migliorare realmente le nostre condizioni di vita. Non solo alleggerire il carico di lavoro ma rendere l’ambiente che ci circonda più vivibile per tutti. La macchina operatrice è ovviamente l’emblema della tecnologia al servizio dell’uomo ed è pertanto naturale che stia evolvendo velocemente. Il futuro sta prendendo forma proprio adesso, grazie all’applicazione di propulsori ad alimentazione elettrica o ibrida in grado di garantire le prestazioni desiderate e necessarie anche in cantieri o aziende agricole. Molti i tabu che stanno cadendo in questi anni con una velocità sorprendente stiamo assistendo a rivoluzioni in moltissimi ambiti dalla telecomunicazione, con l’avvento degli smartphone, delle web Tv e all’avvento dei sistemi di video conferenza. La comparsa di veicoli e automobili elettriche ha messo in discussione il concetto di mobilità. Un drone da poche centinaia di Euro riesce a sostituire un elicottero per riprese aeree eliminando inquinamento e costi di utilizzo. L’edilizia eco-sostenibile ha spalancato gli occhi sulla gestione delle risorse e sulla scelta dei

echnology is such when it helps to improve the quality of life of mankind. Research and genuine technological innovation are the powertrains of progress. We are experiencing the dawn of a new era that will further change the definition of technology thanks to the knowledge that only by pursuing sustainability, can we truly improve our quality of life. Not only by easing our work load, but also by making the environment around us more liveable for all. Mobile working machines are of course the emblem of technology at the service of mankind, hence their rapid evolution is natural and to be expected. The future is taking shape right now thanks to the use of electric or hybrid powertrains able to guarantee the desired and necessary performance levels, also in work sites or farming companies. Taboos are being broken down at a remarkable rate and we are witnessing revolutions in many different fields from telecommunications, with the advent of smartphones, to web TV and the advent of video conferencing systems. The appearance of electric vehicles and cars has placed the concept of mobility into question. A drone worth a few hundred Euros can replace a helicopter for taking aerial shots, while also eliminating pollution and costs of use. Eco-sustainable construction has opened people’s eyes to resource management and the choice of construction materials, also in the case of families designing their own home. Little by little, the culture of eco-sustainable agriculture is beginning to spread, with minimal

Ecco perché è importante proseguire e credere fermamente nell’utilizzo di risorse rinnovabili evitando trasporti, sprechi e inefficienze. Siamo stati lieti di essere il primo cantiere nel Regno Unito a provare il telescopico elettrico assieme a Flannery”.

La divisione britannica di Sunbelt Rentals ha acquistato una flotta di sollevatori telescopici compatti Faresin 6.26 Full Electric. Sunbelt - precedentemente A-Plant - gestisce la quarta più grande flotta di sollevatori telescopici nel Regno Unito con 1.674 unità, secondo l’ultimo rapporto Cranes & Access Top 30 sulle società di noleggio. Le nuove macchine, acquistate attraverso il distributore britannico G.G.R., sono le prime macchine elettriche e le prime Faresin ad entrare nella sua flotta.

The UK based division of Sunbelt Rentals has purchased a trial number of Faresin 6.26 Full Electric compact telehandlers.

Sunbelt - previously A-Plant runs the fourth largest telehandler fleet in the UK with 1,674 units, according to the latest Cranes & Access Top 30 rental company report. Cosa vorresti evidenziare da questa collaborazione Faresin - ALO LIFT? SILVIA FARESIN: La collaborazione tra Faresin e Alo è iniziata nel lontano 2013, quando per la prima volta comprarono i nostri sollevatori telescopici per il settore construction e rental nei paesi del Latam. Un rapporto nato da una fiducia reciproca, cresciuta e consolidatasi di anno in anno, di pari passo con la vendita progressiva dei nostri prodotti, infatti parliamo di 126 macchine. Siamo due aziende che lavorano ottimamente assieme perché unite da una filosofia basata sul Family Business e da dei valori etici che sono alla base della nostra ideologia. É vero, siamo partiti piano, con qualche telescopico, ma in pochi anni abbiamo avuto il boom di crescita che ci porterà al consolidarsi di un significativo piano strategico nel giro di 3 o 4 anni, ovvero distribuire + di 200 macchine. Uno step importante assieme già lo abbiamo raggiunto, la vendita del 1° telescopico 6.26 Full Electric. Ora siamo pronti e pieni di energia per tagliare il traguardo di tanti altri ambiziosi progetti.

What would you like to highlight from this Faresin - ALO LIFT collaboration? SILVIA FARESIN: The collaboration between Faresin and Alo began in 2013, when for the first time they bought our telescopic handlers for the construction and rental sector in the Latam countries. A relationship born from mutual trust, which has grown and consolidated year by year, hand in hand with the progressive sale of our products, in fact we are talking about 126 machines. We are two companies that work well together because united by a philosophy based on Family Business and ethical values that are the basis of our ideology. Milking process, with a particular focus on limiting the animal’s physical and mental stress levels. Residue and sewage enter the economy cycle and are managed and transformed into energy thanks to biogas systems, thus converted into an added value rather than being simply drained or disposed of. The mixer wagon is an integral part of this process because the way animals are treated is just as important as the quality of their feed, thus ensuring the perfect condition of their rumen and consequently the sustainability of the system. We speak of rumens and not animals, because at the heart of the process lies the rumen, that is, the organ in the cow’s body responsible for the transformation process, the origin of the animal’s well-being and production of milk or meat. It is important not only to feed the cow during the day, as commonly thought a few years back, but also to do so in the right way and at the right time, not just to speed up the process with respect to non-mechanised distribution.

E’ pertanto un vantaggio enorme avere un carro miscelatore in grado di caricare, tagliare e miscelare nei tempi giusti, senza dissociare gli alimenti e senza alterarne temperatura e condizione. A tal proposito citiamo il cosiddetto indice di omogeneità che, grazie ad un algoritmo di misurazione affinato negli anni, restituisce all’operatore del carro miscelatore una prima indicazione di efficacia del proprio operato in quanto si presume che se la ricetta razione è stata formulata appositamente per la mandria e l’indice di omogeneità è buono non ci sia selezione. L’omogeneità da sola però non basta, ci sono altri parametri che concorrono al successo ed efficacia del TMR e uno fra questi è la percentuale di sostanza secca ingerita dall’animale durante la giornata.

In order to maintain the perfect functionality and bacterial balance in the rumen, the components must be carefully mixed in the right order to prevent the animal from making a so-called selection, rather ensuring simultaneous ingestion in the predetermined portions. The rumen was in fact used as a model for Biogas systems, which as we know work best when the material is introduced in a complete manner, that is, with all the substances necessary to trigger the transformation process. It is therefore an enormous advantage to have a mixer wagon able to load, cut and mix at the right times, without separating the feed and without altering its temperature and condition. To this end, we cite the so-called homogeneity index, which, thanks to a measuring algorithm perfected over the years, gives the operator of the mixer wagon an insight as to the effectiveness of their work, whereby it is assumed that if the ration recipe has been specifically formulated for the herd and the homogeneity index is right, selection should not occur. Yet homogeneity in itself is not enough, there are other parameters that also contribute to the success and efficiency of the

E’ importante infatti che gli organi del carro non sfibrino i foraggi e che la lunghezza di taglio sia controllabile e precisa. Se tutto questo viene rispettato, grazie alla qualità degli alimenti e della ricetta utilizzata uniti alla prestazione del carro miscelatore, avremo un rumine in perfetto equilibrio in un ambiente idoneo. Sarà migliore la digestione, saranno inferiori i residui nei liquami e avranno minor contenuto di inquinanti innalzando la sostenibilità dell’azienda avendo un prodotto di qualità maggiore. Non solo: il benessere animale porta a parità di alimenti distribuiti una maggior produzione di latte quindi un migliore rapporto tra costo degli alimenti e prezzo del latte pertanto maggiori guadagni. Una consapevolezza che Faresin Industries ha acquisto da più di un decennio e che guidato l’evoluzione tecnologica di nostri carri miscelatori: efficienza economica, ripetibilità del risultato, miscelate omogenee a prescindere dalla composizione della ricetta.

TMR, one of which is the percentage of dry matter ingested by the animal during the day. It therefore follows that the more efficient the mixer wagon in properly treating the forage and silage, the more dry matter is ingested in the rumen. It is in fact important that the forage not be decorticated by the wagon parts, and that the cutting length be controlled and precise. If all this is respected, given the quality of the feed and recipe used, combined with the high performance of the mixer wagon, we will have a perfectly balanced rumen in the ideal environment. Digestion will improve, there will be less residue in the sewage and a lower pollutant content too, thus increasing the company’s sustainability through a higher quality product. And that’s not all: animal well-being leads to a greater production of milk with equal distribution, and therefore a better ratio between the cost of food and the price of milk, hence greater earnings. Realizzando in pieno l’idea del benessere animale, con punteggio CReNBA 90%. Nuova stalla ben dotata di tecnologia, con tre robot di mungitura, un nuovo carro unifeed della Faresin particolarmente performante, un separatore solido-liquido delle deiezioni. Un rapporto nato inizialmente per sviluppare una collaborazione strategica che potesse far conoscere il brand italiano in suolo tedesco, trasformatosi poi in una forte amicizia tra Sante Faresin e Martin Knaeulien che a distanza di 30 anni sembra non aver subito alcuna variazione. l 2020 è iniziato con una sfida dura ed imprevedibile: l’emergenza sanitaria globale COVID 19 che a fine febbraio ha colpito l’Italia per prima in Europa. Naturalmente non ci siamo persi d’animo e abbiamo affrontato l’emergenza come un’azienda integrata, come una comunità. Siamo infatti riusciti a garantire la continuità della produzione in assoluta sicurezza per i nostri dipendenti e le loro famiglie applicando i protocolli di sicurezza con rigore e spirito di squadra. Non ci siamo però fermati alla sola attività strettamente industriale, ma abbiamo continuato a mantenere viva e diretta la relazione con l’azienda allargata: con i nostri dealer ed i nostri clienti in tutto il mondo. Grazie all’uso di nuove tecnologie abbiamo aperto un vero e proprio “tavolo digitale” che annulla le distanze e ci permette di interagire con i nostri partner e mandare avanti il nostro ed il loro business continuando a fornire tutto il supporto tecnico e commerciale necessario a questo scopo.

La Fondazione Mons. Camillo Faresin Onlus, sorta nel gennaio del 2004, è apolitica, non ha fini di lucro e nessuno dei suoi membri può essere retribuito per il lavoro che svolge a suo favore. Essa persegue esclusivamente finalità di solidarietà sociale nei confronti di persone svantaggiate e di componenti di collettività estere, limitatamente ad aiuti umanitari nei settori della: Assistenza sociale e socio sanitaria; assistenza sanitaria; promozione di iniziative, condizioni ed occasioni di lavoro atte a favorire la crescita sociale ed economica.

The Mons. Camillo Faresin Onlus Foundation, established in January 2004, is apolitical, non-profit, and none of its members can be paid for the work they do in its favour. It exclusively pursues aims of social solidarity towards disadvantaged people and members of foreign communities, limited to humanitarian aid in the following sectors: social and social health assistance; health care; promotion of initiatives, work conditions and job opportunities that foster social and economic growth.

La Fondazione nasce prevalentemente in Guiratinga, nel Mato Grosso brasiliano, dove hanno dedicato la loro vita come missionari salesiani Mons. Camillo e Don Santo Faresin. Il Consiglio di amministrazione della Fondazione ha contatto diretto con la Diocesi di Guiratinga tramite la presenza delle Suore della Divina Volontà di Bassano del Grappa e del Vescovo di Guiratinga. Grazie a queste persone, a Guiratinga, è stato nominato un Comitato con lo scopo di proporre progetti che rappresentino le reali esigenze della comunità. I progetti della Fondazione Mons. Camillo Fareisn Onlus riguardano: il sostegno ai Seminaristi della Diocesi di Guiratinga; il sostegno di corsi atti alla formazione didattica e lavorativa dei giovani della Diocesi; il sostegno all'artigianato femminile; il sostegno alla casa di Riposo Gaetana Sterni e dei suoi anziani; il sostegno alle famiglie più bisogno tramite il finanziamento di "Ceste Basiche" contenenti beni di prima necessità.

The Foundation was established mainly in Guiratinga, in the Brazilian Mato Grosso, where Mons. Camillo and Don Santo Faresin dedicated their lives as Salesian missionaries. The Foundation’s Board of Directors has direct contact with the Diocese of Guiratinga through the presence of the Sisters of the Divine Will of Bassano del Grappa and the Bishop of Guiratinga. Thanks to these people, in Guiratinga, a Committee has been appointed with the aim of proposing projects that represent the real needs of the community. The projects of the Mons. Camillo Faresin Onlus Foundation concern: the support for the Seminarians of the Diocese of Guiratinga; the support of courses aimed at educational and work training of the young people of the Diocese; the support for female craftsmanship; the support for the Gaetana Sterni retirement home and its elderly; the support for the families most in need through the funding of ‘Basic Baskets’ containing basic necessities.

IL METODO DEI PICCOLI MIGLIORAMENTI COSTANTI THE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT PROCESS

l 5 giugno 2020 abbiamo dato inizio al progetto “Cantiere Magazzino Ricambi” con un workshop proattivo realizzato in collaborazione con L’istituto Kaizen. L’obiettivo del progetto è di aumentare il tempismo e l’efficienza produttiva del magazzino ricambi attraverso la somma di una serie di “piccole” azioni che, grazie al coinvolgimento dell’intero gruppo di lavoro, acquisiscono la ”forza d’urto” necessaria a creare miglioramenti tangibili in tempi brevi. A fine luglio una prima valutazione dei risultati sulla base del “non evaso” ha mostrato un miglioramento degli indici pari al 30% in poco più di un mese.

n 5th June 2020 we launched the “Spare Parts Warehouse Work Site” project with a proactive workshop developed in collaboration with the Kaizen institute. The aim of the project is to improve the timing and production efficiency of the spare parts warehouse through the sum of a series of “small” actions, which, thanks to the contribution of the entire work group, acquires the necessary “force of impact” to create measurable improvements in a short time. A first assessment of the “non-processed” results at the end of July showed an index improvement equal to 30% in just over one month.

Fermentazione a temperatura di 16°C per due settimane dopo di che il vino rimane per un mese sulle proprie feccie che vengono periodicamente messe in sospensione in modo da estrarre tutta la dolcezza dei lieviti. A Gennaio il vino viene fatto rifermentare in autoclave e imbottigliato.
