My good old friend is soft, warm, and smells good, I think. He stays awake with me, reads books with me, plays games with me. Whether my good old friend is from Africa, I don’t know. He only laughs when I ask him. Whether my good old friend is from my hometown, I don’t know. I have never asked him. My good old friend listens to me for hours. And talks about himself. He likes idling around in the water for example. My good old friend hates what I hate. And he likes what I like. Whether my good old friend misses someone, I don’t know. I don’t think so. Whether my good old friend misses me, when I am asleep, I don’t know. Because I am sleeping. My good old friend knows more stories than anyone else. He whispers them into my ear. My good old friend is sad, happy, silent and loud with me. He puts his arm on my shoulder. And I put mine on his. Whether my good old friend wants to be alone at times, I don’t know. He’s never said anything of the sort. Whether my good old friend wishes for other friends (apart from me), I don’t know. I hope not. My good old friend is really always there. From morning to morning. He doesn’t need to go away, doesn’t want to go away, I think. My good old friend has a nice fur, a long nose and mild eyes. He looks friendly, you could say. Achim Lippoth
