The Foundation for Cross-Cultural Education Where does FCE operate? FCE: International Director, Neels de Jager

Who is FCE?

FCE is a mission organisation that was established in 1991 and is called to make disciples of Jesus Christ by means of education and training. All training is missions focused and its aim is: •

• • •

to lead people to the person Jesus Christ, to make them followers of Jesus Christ, to encourage them to make a difference where they live and work, by sharing Jesus Christ and to give them skills which can be used to bring transformation to their communities

What is FCE’s vision?

Jesus Christ, making disciples through us worldwide, by building a Highway of Holiness, through education and training.

How does FCE operate?

FCE has permanent training centers in Southern and Central Africa. Staff members live and work among the people they are training. There are currently 82 full-time staff members who work in the following Training Centers: • Wolseley, South Africa (Headquarters) • Pretoria, South Africa (Academic and Administrative Centre) • Namibia • Koti ni Eden, Zambia • Kalungu, Zambia • Livingstonia, Malawi • India

The villages around our training centres are our areas of ministry. By means of friendship evangelism, we minister to the whole village: • men are trained in agriculture, brick-making, thatching, building and carpentry • women are trained in primary health care, cookery, sewing, adult literacy • children are prepared for formal schooling by means of games, stories and large and small motor skills and through children’s evange lism programmes they are led to Jesus This opens doors for the whole community to receive different forms of training. FCE works according to this model at all its training centers in Africa, to bring people to the Lord, showing them how to be self-sufficient, to live a worthy life, to serve one another and to care for the widows and orphans in their own communities.

Proposals for projects FCE works in and through relationships. It is therefore important that each person involved in FCE can testify to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. FCE trains and equips missionaries, missionaries teachers and community workers to function from a truly Biblical perspective and to make a difference for the Kingdom of God. The content of our training is ‘to know Christ’ and the practical implementation of our training is ‘to live” Christ. FCE organises outreaches to expose and involve the wider Body of Christ in the work and projects of FCE.FCE creates opportunities for volunteers to serve and gain experience in cross-cultural enviroment which functions from a Christ-centred perspective.

As we respond to God’s leading and to the task of transforming communities, we are continually faced with new needs and challenges. We cannot do it alone. We need the support of the wider body of Christ around the globe who prayerfully and practically contribute to the continuation and growth of the ministry.

Project Description Transport

M

ost Training Centres are located in rural areas, away from the towns and cities. Acces is often difficult and a heavy demand is placed on the vehicles in use. These are mainly personal vehicles being used to meet the needs of the various Training Centres.

Staff and students need to cover long distances, often in rain and heat, as they serve in the different communities. Supplies are only found in the towns and cities and vehicles are needed to transport these goods to the centres. Project Needs: 2 x 14 seater buses.
