Back to school time is always a big transition, not only for children but for parents.
of their daily school routine. You can do this by having them wake up at the same time every day, and eat around the same time they would at school. About a week or so before school starts, plan a few outside activities where your child will have to leave and come home around the same time they would if they were in school. This will help them be rested and ready for the big day.
While children are filled with excitement and first-day jitters, parents are filled with thoughts of “Am I prepared enough?” To help eliminate these thoughts, and help you and your child prepare for the new school year, all you need is a little organization and forethought. Here are 10 back to school tips 4. Set up a homework station. Sit down with to kick-start the new year and get you your child and together designate a time prepared for a fresh start. and place where he can do his homework each day. This can be somewhere quiet like 1. Get back into your sleep routine. To help in the den, or even in the kitchen while you eradicate those stressful school mornings, are preparing dinner. Make sure to choose set up a regular bedtime and morning time a time where you are available in case your routine to help prepare your child for school. child needs your help. Begin your usual school sleep routine about a week or so before school starts. 5. Prepare for the unexpected. Working parents know that it can be difficult to find a 2. the age of your child, figure out if they will go to a neighbor’s house, an afterschool program, or be allowed to stay home by themselves. This will help eliminate any confusion during the first few weeks. 7. Turn off the TV and video games. For a lot of children summertime is filled with endless video games and TV programs. Children are usually in shock when they begin school and realize that six hours of their day is going to spent learning and not playing games and watching TV. Ease your child into the learning process by turning off the electrics and encouraging them to read or play quietly. 8. Review school material and information. For most parents, schools send home a packet with a ton of information regarding their child’s new teacher, important dates to remember, emergency forms, and transportation routines. Make sure that you read through this information carefully, and mark down all important dates on your calendar.
9. Get organized. The best way to prepare for back to school time is to be organized. With school comes a massive amount of paperwork which can consume your household. Designate a spot in your house for homework, permission slips, and any other school-related papers. This can help eliminate all of that paper clutter and make your life less stressful. 10. Get your child’s yearly checkup. School and germs go hand in hand, so it’s best to get your child’s yearly checkup before school even starts. Get any required vaccinations and ask your pediatrician the best ways your child can stay healthy throughout the school year. Through preparation and organization, you can ensure that your child will have a smooth transition to the start of the new school year. Good luck for the new school year. 3 D I Y Facial Masks to Rejuvenate Your Skin for the New Year
You know what they say about the life of a mom; the days go by slowly, but the years go by fast! Looking back at 2016, it is hard to believe if has flown by in the blink of an eye. With the everyday hustle and bustle, there’s hardly any time to sit and reflect on all that has happened within the past year. These three simple facial masks will give you a moment to sit back, relax and reflect upon all you’ve accomplished in the last year. Pamper yourself for a moment during this busy season without breaking the bank with a DIY facial. (Please note that it is always better to clean your face before applying a mask. It will open your pores allowing all these yummy ingredients to seep into your skin and revitalize you.) For Dry Skin
I love argon oil, not only because of the endless reasons why it’s good for you but because it smells ridiculously good, too!)
• ½ of an avocado • 1 small banana • 1 teaspoon olive oil Mash or blend these ingredients until you have a thick, creamy consistency. Apply and leave on face for 10 minutes, then rinse with cool water and pat dry. Avocados are loaded with Vitamin E & K, and tons of antioxidants. This natural oil-packed veggie will quench your skin and give it a refreshed look. Avocado will help fade scars, and its oil is actually patented as a treatment for some forms of dermatitis and arthritis. Bananas are great for hydrating and making skin look younger. They contain Vitamin C & B6 which help skin’s resiliency by protecting it from free radicals which lead to premature aging. Finally, olive oil packs extra moisture for your skin. For Normal Skin • ½ teaspoon turmeric • 2 tablespoons of raw, plain coconut yogurt Mix these ingredients and apply to clean face for 15 – 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water. (if you want to feel like you just stepped out of a spa, try applying a few drops of Argon Oil evenly around your face after you’ve rinsed the mask off.
Turmeric is amazing for blemishes, dark spots and aging. Coconut yogurt is a moisturizing antioxidant that provides the skin with essential fats, vitamins, minerals and amino acids. For Oil Skin • 1 organic egg, white separated from yolk Separate egg yolk from egg whites; beat the white until they are nice and foamy. Once they are, apply evenly all over face (avoiding the eyes). Keep it on until it has hardened and you can no longer move your face, and then rinse your face clean. If you feel bad throwing the yolk away, use a tablespoon of it and rub it onto your face because it is a natural moisturizer! Once it is dry, rinse again, and you are done. Eggs are great for whitening and tightening; they’ll give you a temporary face lift. Eggs tighten the skin and diminish pore size, which helps keep your natural oil production at a minimum. These masks are great if you’re like most women, whose skin alternates between dry, normal and oily depending on the season. Try rotating between these three whenever your skin is in need.

Spoil Your Man With One Of These Easy Facial Threats 1) Deep Nourishing Lemon Pack Lemon has oil control properties and good news is that it suits all skin types. It also has skin brightening properties, and lemon extracts in turn do not soak moisture from the skin, making it an absolute go-to element. How To Use It: Mix a teaspoon of honey in a tablespoon of lemon extracts (juice). Add 4-5 drops of olive oil and make a paste out of it. Wash your face with plain water and apply the pack evenly on your face. Leave it for 15-20 minutes; let the extracts work on your skin. Wipe off with a wet sponge and wash it away later.
2) Yogurt Face Mask If time is your long lost friend and you also have big pores, then not to worry, friend, because yogurt face mask is just for you. It helps your pores to get tightened apart from its usual cleansing properties. How To Use It: You can apply yogurt on your face directly or mix it with juice from an orange slice and pulp along with 1 teaspoon of aloe. Leave it for 10 minutes before rinsing it off to get revitalising skin.
3) Oatmeal Face Pack Cereals can do wonders on your face, especially on an acne skin as it absorbs a lot of excess oil from the skin pores. The paste can be a little sticky so one has to wash it off carefully, but its effects are quick.

Add one tablespoon of honey, yogurt and one egg white to the paste and mix it well. Apply a thin layer of this mixture and leave it for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.

How To Use It: Take any clay or kaolin and mix it with distilled water, aloe vera, honey, egg white and egg yolk to make a thick but smooth paste. Apply it for not more than 10 minutes and rinse it with normal water.

An easy Caesar Salad A light and easy salad recipe to accompany any main meal is a summer staple indeed. How do I get back into the job market?

1. Update or Re-do your CV! Your CV is your first impression and 30 second opportunity to put your best foot forward. Your CV needs to sell you! Make the necessary changes to your CV and then ask others who are in industry and know what to look for to check your CV. I mostly see terrible looking CV’s that the individuals think look great! Your CV is a tool to showcase yourself, not an archive list of everything you have ever done! I cannot express how important this is, the below list requires a huge amount of effort, you want to make sure you are sending a good CV to all these places! 2. Create a short, to the point, well written introduction email to send with your CV. 3. Stop and take time to think about your transferable skills. These are skills that you currently have that may be used in other industries/ jobs. eg: building relationships with customers, budgeting, managing people, driving a car, using Microsoft, facilitating workshops, the list goes on. These are generic skills that you will be able to carry over with you into the next job. Most jobs consist of generic component parts. If a recruiter is on the ball they will be able to recognises that you may not have done this exact advertised position before, but that you have certain skills that you can transfer
and use to give you a head start in this advertised position. It is a good idea to help the recruiter see these links, so highlight your transferrable skills. Make their job easy, do the thinking and linking for them. This is also a good exercise for yourself as it helps you build your confidence, that yes the position may be different to something that you have done before, but you will be able to take your generic skills and experience with you, which will help you greatly. 4. Remember when looking for a new job, don’t think that you have to look for exactly the same title as your current job. eg: if your current job title is HR Manager- the other names could be Talent Manager, OD Manager, Resourcing Consultant the list goes on. Other companies may call similar jobs by different names. 5. Think of key words that describe the job. Recruiters can’t possibly know every position out there, so often times they are looking for keywords. Use these keywords in your CV to help them see that you may be a match for these jobs. Also use these key words in LinkedIn and Pnet in your job title and skills list as the system links keywords and can identify jobs that could be relevant to you. Part 11
Works are Overrated We are looking at grace; but how do works fit into this? Are they complementary? Well yes and no. We will do good works that has been prepared for us from the foundation of the earth (Eph 2:10). The keyword here is that we will do them, not must do them. When we do things to impress God or earn something from Him, we cancel grace (Rom 4:4 Now to the one who works, his pay is not credited due to grace but due to obligation. (NET)) The works now become dead works! Heb 6:1 Therefore we must progress beyond the elementary instructions about Christ and move on to maturity, not laying this foundation again: repentance from dead works and faith in God (NET). That is shocking and downright discouraging. How are we supposed to approach this? On the one hand we all want to do good works and on the other hand we do not want to get involved in dead works – life is simply too short for that! Jesus did many good works while He was on earth. How did He manage to stay away from dead works? The answer is the Holy Spirit. I said before that Jesus wants to do more for us after the cross than He did
for us at the cross. And this is one of the things that He wants to do for us: He wants to lead us, to live His life through us. It is all supernatural; the divine life. If you have a problem with the supernatural you will always be caught between good and dead works. Jesus explained how He did the good works: (John 5:19 So Jesus answered them, “I tell you the solemn truth, the Son can do nothing on his own initiative, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he does... (NET) That is how Jesus operated; the Father loved Him and showed Him what the Father was doing and then He executed the Father’s works. The fact that Jesus speaks of ‘the Son’ means that the principle is established for all sons – us! Jesus gave us the parable of the vine where He explains how this works: we bear fruit when we abide in the Vine (John 15:1-8). Jesus is the Vine and when we abide in Him we bear much fruit. We do not produce the fruit – the vine does that – we simply bear the fruit. How do we bear it? By abiding, not

working. Not striving. Not getting ourselves into a knot, but by abiding in the Vine. Jesus said that it glorifies the Father when we bear much fruit.
Thing is, we make too much of works; rather focus on Jesus and forget about works – they will follow when the Holy Spirit starts working through you. Just abide in the vine and when you see Jesus working, partner with Him. He does all the hard work; you bear the fruit. But it is He who ultimately does it: Col 1:29 For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me. (ESV) I toil, but it is His energy – He does it.
John 15:10 might imply that we stay in His love when we obey His commandments but remember that this already presupposes a relationship with Him. It might look as if God’s love is conditional but Paul states it as a fact in Rom 8:38-39. Nothing, not even disobedience can separate us from His love. Under grace everything is unconditional God sees our very best efforts as dirty rags – John simply does not understand this (Isa 64:6). So why not stop doing them? We principle so he repeats it several times. are human beings and not human doings! Just be and let God be God. Bully behaviour is becoming a growing phenomenon in schools. “Bullying happens when one or more people expose another to hurtful actions that can be physical or verbal insults and cause deliberate alienation from a group.
