Possible front cover images

‌ I really like this image on the lhs. I like her pose and how much of a strong character she is representing. She looks independent and also like a serious music artist. The fact that she is looking straight into the camera brings a connection between the audience and herself, which may entice them to buy the magazine.

I like the lighting within the image as you can clearly see her face and many of the colours look vivid and eye catching. I’m not particularly keen on the angle of this image and I don’t like the background for placing text as it will look too busy and cluttered for anything to stand out well.

I really like her pose in the image and also her hair and outfit. She looks casual and relatable for young adults and teenage girls. Her smile makes her seem approachable and friendly. Although I like this image, I don’t feel as though the background is appropriate and again it would be hard for the text to stand out and I don’t want to edit the background necessarily as it can look unprofessional.

I like this image for the fact that the background is a lot plainer than the other images – which will be a lot easier to work with. Although I like her pose I feel as though it may not be entirely appropriate for a front cover image as the placement of her arms will make it hard for me to place cover lines. I like her facial expression in this image as she has a serious expressions subtly implying to people to take her seriously as an artist in the music industry.

I quite like this image – I like how professional it looks and the lighting surrounding my model. There is room for my masthead to easily fit at the top, but I am currently undecided on if I want to have my masthead partly behind my models head as I want it to seem recognisable and established. Again, I don’t really like the background of this image but I could try and edit out the pier to create more of a plain background.

This image is very structured but because of the plain background it would create a good background for the cover lines. There is also a good amount of space above her head for the mast head to be placed. Although this image would be very appropriate to use for my front cover image, I don’t like her pose very much as I feel it connotes more of a ‘Pop’ music image rather than indie/alternative.
