Ferrin Contemporary

Ferrin Contemporary specializes in ceramic art circa 1950 – present. For over forty years, Ferrin Contemporary has been the preferred source for artwork by established and emerging artists and designers whose primary medium is clay, for private collectors, institutions and the media. Ferrin Contemporary serves as both a project incubator and a traditional commercial gallery program. Curated exhibitions are presented by the gallery and in partnership with galleries, museums, and educational institutions throughout the country. In addition to creating opportunities for artists whose primary medium is clay, the gallery also works with private collectors, estates and archives to offer secondary market works for sale and gift to public collections. For the last 9 years, Ferrin Contemporary was located on MASS MoCA’s 16-acre campus in North Adams, MA producing solo and group exhibitions, public programs and special projects related to contemporary ceramics. As of September 2023, the gallery will be open by appointment and welcoming the public for scheduled events. The move brings together the office, library, archives and warehouse at one location at PROJECT ART, a renovated mill building located in Cummington, MA.
