Use your cell phone
You probably have a new generation smart phone, but if not, a phone with a camera that you can install Instagram on will do just fine.
Download and install Instagram
You’re familiar with it, right? It’s free and is available for Android phones and iPhones. In fact, you can probably skip this step because you already have it installed and use it daily.
Open Instagram and register
This is another step you can skip if you’re already an Instagram user. If you’re a first-time user, enter a user name and password or begin your session with Facebook.
Click on the icon
To activate your cell phone camera, click on the icon in the center: the square with the circle inside it.
Take your photo The moment of truth has come. Before clicking on the big blue button, bear the following in mind:
Hold your cell phone at a distance where your whole face fits in the viewfinder. Look straight at the camera. Take your photo during the day to ensure good light. Stand one step in front of a white wall. Make sure the light comes from the side, not from behind or in front of you. Don’t use a flash.
We don’t want photos like these:
These are classic mistakes. If your photo comes out like one of these, please take another one.
At night in poor light
Taken very close up or with part of the face off frame
Backlit
Out of focus
With flash
Against a non-white background
We want a photo like this:
This is the photo of you we want. If the one you’ve just taken came out like this, move on to the next step.
Select the ‘Clarendon’ filter
This is the filter we’ve chosen for FICCI 56 and it’ll make you look sensational! Then click on NEXT at the top of the screen.
Share your photo
When you get to this screen, you can share your photo using different media. Don’t forget to use the hashtag:

Send us your photo
As soon as you share your photo, it is saved on the camera roll of your cell phone. E-mail it to us at: voyalficci56@gmail.com
