Happy February Monsters! Assuming that you're reading this on February th 15 , this is our LAST three-day weekend for a long while. Please make the most of it and don't procrastinate on your goals. With only a few weeks before finals, it is important to balance your time between Key Club and studying to ensure an optimal outcome: desired performance and ample service goals. Therefore, you may consider February as the transition month in many respects: a time to diligently complete intercession work for Term 4, the month to begin reviewing materials for AP exams in May, a month for new officers to prepare for the next term, the waiting period between now and DCON, and most importantly, the month for Key Clubbers to develop their love for serving the community. With over ten events to choose from for the time spanning between today and March 15, I recommend signing up ASAP for the ones you can attend! Also, if you have any questions or concerns for the new or retiring officers, this month would be a good time to ask them. I hope you all have been having a wonderful weekend. In roaring service and dedication, Pauline Tze

Love is in the air for February! Make sure to show friends and families the love they deserve and congratulate Tyler Newman for being February’s Monster of the Month! Tyler Newman loves League of Legends (so much so that his parents worry), computer games like CSGO and Battle Block Theater, and his phone, which he doodles in here and there. Recently, Tyler has begun to get a feel of Key Club, so when he isn’t gaming or doodling, he serves his community. These past two months, Tyler attended the 50 Bikes for 50 Kids event and the Academic Decathlon; his favorite was 50 Bikes for 50 Kids. During that event, all of his friends attended, which added to the fun time he had. However, he admits that the best part was seeing the happy faces on all the kids getting their very first bike. He loves seeing people be happy, so he will try to contribute to their experience in any way possible. He says that “some people do things just for the hours, but I genuinely like helping others who are less fortunate or are trying to accomplish things for themselves.” In Key Club, we serve our community but in addition to that, Tyler “loves how everyone is a family in the club. Everyone helps each other and people will know who you are if you put yourself out there. I definitely hope that in the future, the social barriers will break down between classes, but for now we are still a family. Ohana amirite.” I love seeing members motivated to help their community and truly enjoy serving their community because in the end, people they help will smile.Tyler, I believe, is one of these people who will continue his journey through Key Club. I love how he attempted to take a Key Club officer position and stayed behind for elections even though he didn't pass the qualifying exam. Throughout this month, Tyler expressed his newfound dedication to Key Club. He was one of the few members to voice his opinion by staying behind to listen to Key Club speeches and vote for the members of the 2015-2016 board. Tyler also consistently attends the weekly meetings; as a new member to Key Club, Tyler clearly shows his diligence. Let’s applause once more to Tyler! Congratulations and please continue to put smiles on people’s faces! -Lesley Wong
