Here comes the Cape Town Rugby Business Network! THE
Rugby Business Network has taken SA by storm! As the newly appointed Ambassador and Chairman of this international organisation, Bob has introduced this winning concept to our shores.
With the heady mix of business networking amongst people who share a like-minded respect for the good game of rugby, it provides the perfect platform to engage in a relaxed and informal manner in great company! These events are fast becoming sell outs as they are rolled out across the country and already we’ve caught up with Corne Krige, AJ Venter and Nick

Mallett who have shared their business journey with Bob. At the most recent event, introduced by MEC Alan Winde and partnered by Wesgro, the evening was the perfect catalyst for this dynamic mix! Every so often a great book hits the shelves and it’s a winner! Gallo Images and SuperSport have collaborated to produce a South African sporting extravaganza with “South Africa’s 100 Most Famous Sports Photos” … a tapestry of the golden moments of SA sport in the last 50 years. Look for it on all the major bookshelves…it’s likely to recall some great memories. Singing the National Anthem, with pride and passion, is always one of mine and I’m delighted to have made the pages!

The Old Hiltonian Golf
& Leisure Society
"It was a happy group of men that gathered early on Friday 31 May at the Toad and Josephine, the rendezvous point and a restaurant with iconic potential right next to Newlands Rugby Stadium. An early winter’s chill gripped the crisp air as one after the other the team arrived in jackets and scarves, gleaming with bright eyes at the prospect of two days away doing what men can do well, behaving like young boys. This was a varied, eclectic group, the only common thread between all of us being that we were all fortunate enough that our parents had busted their gut to send us to Hilton College." All is revealed in this entertaining blog by Jono Dickson that gives the skinny on everything!

DON’T PROMISE WHAT YOU CAN’T DELIVER WHEN SELLING OUR IDEAS, WE TEND TO OVERPROMISE IN OUR ENTHUSIASM FOR OUR CREATION. IN OUR VISION OF HOW WE HOPE IT WILL BE, WE LEAVE NO ROOM FOR FAILURE.
The result will probably be disappointing. Not disastrous, but a little less than expected. No one will say anything, they just won’t trust you quite as much next time. Basically you’ve blown it. If instead you undersell, pointing out the possible weaknesses and how to resolve them, should they occur, you are not only building a trusting relationship with your client but you’re able to solve any problems. And if it does turn out the way you hoped, it is a bonus.
