Cricket Sixes – Team Sharp Huddled together for a team talk, the words filter through….”There are no friends on the field, friends are made off the field” met by peals of laughter….. this was no ordinary team talk and certainly no ordinary cricket team! Saturday 14th December saw the launch of the inaugural Cricket Sixes in Cape Town. A brain child of @GraemeSmith49, @markb46 and @Kempy6 to raise funds while enjoying a social game of cricket. Classy, classic and a clear winner!

Coetzer added firepower to their team when they successfully bid, thanks to Alastair Hewitt, for AB De Villiers, Meyrick Pringle and Martin van Jaarsveld at the auction the night before! Team Sharp played throughout the day and marched all the way through to the semi-finals where it was a nail-biting close finish…they did themselves proud. It certainly appeared, that the more team talks and fines meetings they had, the better their cricket got!
Eight teams of six took each other on made up of corporates, clubs, Proteas and…..rugby players!
There were some lofty sixes, some mean looking deliveries and faultless (almost) fielding! AB was the top scorer of the tournament and Team Sharp certainly the most spirited on the day! World Class!

MZANZI ARMY Christmas time and the spirit of giving is in full force across our country! Have a look at the great work that Put Foot Foundation founder Daryn Hillhouse has undertaken over the past year! The Put Foot Foundation is only 18 months old, but has already changed the lives of over 5800 young, underprivileged children across South Africa through the gift of a brand new pair of school shoes. The foundation has also gifted R350,000 to Project Rhino to assist in the anti-rhino poaching efforts in KZN.
