The texture of the jacket is of good quality,I like how the collar forms around the neck and the sleeves are not to short or to long. This sweater is made perfectly. It also comes with an alpha layer which makes it a good fit. I purchased this sweater on market place it was well worth the money.

e’s caught a hold of a broad audience and has left them hooked. His humor is his strength, his everyday life a catalyst as a host and poet. Dp xue is one of SL’s leading entertainers, and he’s known for best as a host for “Straight No Chaser.” Dp made one of SL’s first poetry based tours in his opening debut, “Dp’s SL Tour.” Dp’s humor has no turn off switch, as I had the privilege to sit face to face and interview him. I hadn’t laughed that hard in an interview since I’ve started this line of work. He’s a lot of fun and has a way of taking you off topic. 12 Flavah Magazine

W

hile off in left field I found out some interesting things. He’s an artist and cook in RL. It takes having creativity to breed creativity. He has a passion for poetry and finds inspiration in everything, from seeing something ordinary everyday object, to people’s opinions. He loves his jobs in both worlds, but in SL, his experience as a host for “Straight No Chaser” is priceless. Seeing people respond is an artist’s drive and fuel to do more.

S

traight No Chaser is a talk show that is functions on questions from the audience.

It takes place every Sunday at 7 pm SLT and requires tickets for entrance. It’s L$250 for regular seating and L$500 for VIP which includes gifts. If you’re experiencing drama or you have some serious questions about some seriously, disturbing matters about others drama this is the place to be. This is a place to have fun and you don’t have to be afraid to share your opinions about some of the wild things you experience in sl. Just like Dp says, “This is not a scam hustle scheme or a caper, all you get is the truth on straight with no chaser.”

A

s a host for Straight No chaser, he enjoys the freedom he has to work with. He is the cornerstone of the show, but it flows smoothly as he receives feedback from the audience. One of his most memorable moments was when the sim had crashed while he was hosting, there were so many people there. However, Dp’s success didn’t just come to him overnight. He was given a chance to perform at a club and was fortunate enough to be able to have a space in the time slot to do so. Since then the opportunity combined with

passion has set the pace of his amazing race to fulfilling his potential of where he is today.

H

is word of advice to all people is that businesspersons should give talented people a shot regardless of where they may be, and that those with a passion need to get out there and do the footwork in order to be successful. He values his family; his wife has been there with him through thick, and thin, and makes sure that he stays focused. Dp did reveal that he plans to have a poetry corner in Flavah Magazine soon,

and that he’s looking forward to promoting, “Quench” the official drink of thirsty fpd. What is fpd? Even I don’t know, Dp said it’s classified until the release.

I

hope all you fans out there enjoyed getting to know your No chaser host. Keep doing what you’re doing people, and support this man to the utmost and keep having fun doing it. In addition, if you haven’t been to the show or a friend hasn’t, please come. You won’t regret it.

She was awestruck at what she saw; dark gray clouds were rolling in, swirling over one another with such velocity and ferociousness. “What on earth!” Tabatha thought as she screamed into the cave that set behind the tall trees, which were beginning to bend beneath the strength of the roaring winds, “Tyler! Let’s go! Now!” A small white face appeared in the midst of the blackened opening. “What the!” exclaimed Tyler.

Welcome Mompy by Daniel Tayler

I had the pleasure of interviewing our newest member of FLAVAH Magazine, Mompy Sweetrivers. She’s a simple person that believes in hard work and respect, and most of all passion. She loves to write, covering everything from short stories to novels, contemporary relationships, and poetry and ad copy. She is a businesswoman and has an advertising company and online café.

in both worlds. Her lifestyle in Second Life fits her to a tee; she is even a certified medical professional and attorney. She has many endeavors but her focus is in Advertising & Management. Mompy is very excited to be the new advertising executive for FLAVAH Magazine and is ecstatic with the amazing opportunity to take her online café to the magazine.

She started her company, Wake Up Advertising, when she came to Second Life and has since seen it grow and develop. People would come to her wanting to start businesses, but did not know what they wanted to do. She assisted them, which broadened her skills of business planning, administration and management. Mompy loves what she does, helping others plan and start their businesses.

The cafe is called “Mz. M's Mellow Midnight, Moonlight, Madness, and Magic Café.” It consists of a little bit of sweet moonlight, reflective romance, wisdom, comedy, and perhaps even a little gentle advice. Mompy’s café used to be in world but it had to be taken down, however she is very happy for the chance to have her own little café corner within the pages of FLAVAH Magazine. Thanks for reading! Every February 14, across the United States and in other places around the world, candy, flowers and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint, and where did these traditions come from?

Flavah Magazine 25

The Legend of St valentine

T

he history of Valentine's Day--and the story of its patron saint--is shrouded in mystery. We do know that February has long been celebrated as a month of romance, and that St. Valentine's Day, as we know it today, contains vestiges of both Christian and ancient Roman tradition. But who was Saint Valentine, and how did he become associated with this ancient rite?

W

hile some believe that Valentine's Day is celebrated in the middle of February to commemorate the anniversary of Valentine's death or burial--which probably occurred around A.D. 270--others claim that

26 Flavah Magazine

the Christian church may have decided to place St. Valentine's feast day in the middle of February in an effort to "Christianize" the pagan celebration of Lupercalia. Celebrated at the ides of February, or February 15, Lupercalia was a fertility festival dedicated to Faunus, the Roman god of agriculture, as well as to the Roman founders Romulus and Remus.

A

mericans probably began exchanging handmade valentines in the early 1700s. In the 1840s, Esther A. Howland began selling the first mass-produced valentines in America. Howland, known as the “Mother of the Valentine, made elaborate creations with real lace, ribbons and colorful pictures known as "scrap." Today, according to the Greeting Card Association, an estimated 1 billion Valentine’s Day cards uring the Middle Ages, it are sent each year, making was commonly believed Valentine's Day the second in France and England that largest card-sending holiday February 14 was the beginning of the year. Fun Facts About Love

When did it all start? There are various theories on the origin of Valentine's Day, but the most popular dates back to the time of the Roman Empire during the reign of Claudius II, 270 A.D. Claudius didn't want men to marry during wartime because he believed single men made better soldiers. Bishop Valentine went against his wishes and performed secret wedding ceremonies. For this, Valentine was jailed and then executed by order of the Emperor on Feb. 14. While in jail, he wrote a love note to the jailor's daughter, signing it, "From your Valentine." Sound familiar? Valentine's Day-related history The ancient Romans celebrated 28 Flavah Magazine

the Feast of Lupercalia on Feb. 14 in honor of Juno, the queen of the Roman gods and goddesses. Juno was also the goddess of women and marriage. Many believe the X symbol became synonymous with the kiss in medieval times. People who couldn't write their names signed in front of a witness with an X. The X was then kissed to show their sincerity. Girls of medieval times ate bizarre foods on St. Valentine's Day to make them dream of their future spouse. In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who would be their Valentine. They would wear this name pinned onto their sleeves for one week for everyone to

see. This was the origin of the expression "to wear your heart on your sleeve." In 1537, England's King Henry VII officially declared Feb. 14 the holiday of St. Valentine's Day.

Dear Opinion 1. My man doesn't get it. When I told him to never teleport me any place unless he tells me ahead of time if he's with others because I automatically assume he is alone, which he is most of the time when he sends for me so I can be prepared or properly dressed. At times when he's with others and doesn't tell me I end up being somewhere feeling out of place or inappropriately dressed. Am i wrong for getting upset? Signed: De-Teleportation Dear De-Map rights, I would suggest that next time he offers to TP you to his location... before you make that flight... ask him, "are you alone, or do I need to dress a certain way?" Ask him what others in the area are wearing and tell him you'll change and be right over. Good luck with the tp master and be sure to let us know how things work out. 34 Flavah Magazine

2. My man put a picture of me in his profile and he put underneath generic comments that has nothing to do with his feelings and expects me to put his pic in mine and say something special. I was insulted when I read what he said which had nothing to do with our relationship, only how the circumstances came about when we met, it also appeared that it was just a casual friendship as if we were just buddies. What does that mean, does that mean he really cares about me or is he trying to hide who we are to each other? Signed: The Hidden One

he treat you when you're alone compared to when others are around. Is there anyone he acts strange around every time? Most women know that all men don't get into the romance part of a profile. But out of respect and consideration to you, he should ask what specifically you would like said about you and your relationship. If he can't do this simple thing, then I'd be suspicious and wonder why he's acting 'ashamed' of this partnership.

3. My man's Facebook page shows no evidence of us together at all and I think he's Dear Hidden One, The first thing you should do is hiding me. He claims he loves ask him these specific questions me but he has yet to introduce me to anyone in his family you've raised. You need or any of his friends that direct answers. Is he giving are important to him. Is this an answer that sounds like an excuse? Is the answer a bit lame relationship going anywhere? Signed: Face It and suspect? Then ask yourself how does

.Dear Face It, In short, a man will showcase that which he loves or even cares about and if he's not putting you in a position to be in his life in that way, he's more than likely not planning to have you in it. When a man truly loves and respects a woman, he'll want the world to know that you're his. Not hidden away somewhere as a little secret. It can also mean that he's got someone else on the hook and wants to look like he's free and available. I'd say, it's time to move on. This isn't the guy for you. 4. When my man introduces me to any member of his family he never makes it clear that I am his woman or his girlfriend or anything, he just says this is so and so while he proceeds to make it clear who the other people are to him as he introduces them to me. I feel like I'm being hidden because he's not making it clear that he and I are together. He's always concerned about what my family thinks of him and us but has yet to make it clear that I'm his woman to the world. Is he real or is he plastic? Why is this happening and what should I do about it? Signed: No Intro

including family, who he cares about by having her with him and by his side with family see how you interact with them. Have you asked him if his family knows what your relationship is? Do they understand that you are a 'couple' or 'dating'? These are questions you should ask him directly. You'll get your answer soon enough. 5. My man wants us to be sexy with each other and sit around holding each other and making out. As a man I know he is horny as hell but what he does is tell me to stop if I proceed to try to go further when using the menu . Is this man getting it from somewhere else and just keeping me around as a trophy or is he gay and loves me on a different level? Signed: Arm Candy Dear Arm Candy, There are some men in SL that really don't get into the aspect of pixel sex aspect. Others are totally into it. Ask him.Is there something wrong? If he's gay, why would he be with you and not some guy? Have a heart to heart and ask him why. Then come to an agreement as to what will be expected in your intimacy.

Dear No Intro, 6. I really like this guy and From what you wrote, I see that I think he is sexy as hell and he didn't introduce you as "a he seems to be attracted to me friend" Men like to show others, but hasn't made a move. I want

him but I don't have the nerve to make the first move as I am extremely shy. What should I do to find out where he's at concerning me. Signed: Shyness Allergy Dear Shyness Allergy, First thing to remember, if a guy is truly interested, he WILL make the first move to let you know he's interested. its very simple, but you young (and older) women seem to think you have to chase a guy down to get him. Have a little dignity and conduct yourself as a lady with some self-respect. Let HIM do the hunting. Men love the chase and challenge of pursuing their female interest. Stop being so easy. Keep this little phrase in mind If she's amazing, she won't be easy. If she's easy, she won't be amazing. 7. I'm an adult woman and have a very close family. The problem is my family has my map rights and I want to be able to go somewhere and not feel uncomfortable when i'm with one of my men, of which I have several. Whenever I'm with them I feel guilty thinking that they see me and are watching me and watching my every move. How do I get out of this situation without offending my family? My brother is the worse because he's always ready to start drama and wants to fight who ever I'm with. Signed: Free Me Flavah Magazine 35

Dear Free Me, I don't know where to start on this one. You have all these men your talking about. Clearly you're a little too loose and free with your morals. That being the case, why would you care who knows what you're doing? YOU know how many guys you're playing around with, and THAT should be your monitor of your bad behavior. Do all these men know about one another? Or are you just playing them? What are you getting out of this charade of lies? I would say a change of behavior is in order for you. You need to look at the reasons you have this need to degrade and cheapen yourself, while letting men take advantage. Or are you just another desperate SL female looking for attention? It doesn't look good for your reputation. And yes, reputations ARE spread around in SL too. 8. When dealing with a polygamist family and U see that these women who claim they can handle multiple women and one man in their household, but over and over again there's always some type of friction and strife and they seem to be unhappy. The women at times can be very conniving and manipulative. What is it with these females that feel they have to share a Man when they all seem to be woman enough for any one man. 36 Flavah Magazine

Signed: One On One Dear One On One, It's called being a mindless sheep who allows others to push them or convince them to move into a type of lifestyle that goes against human nature. Common sense says that multiple women do not exist well in these situations, nor do they really like sharing their man. These kinds of polygamist scenarios were set up by men. THAT'S the reason. And weakminded women will succumb to this nonsense, thinking this is their only chance at a 'relationship'. It's pretty sad. He gets the better deal, having all these women cook, clean, have sex with and run households. What are these women getting out of it except frustration and hidden jealousy? So many personalities make it more than difficult to make it work.

back to their man. Because she as well as maybe the another woman in the house continually does this, which causes strife within the household. Tell me, is it a good thing for everything to be told to this man or should things in some cases be kept from him in order to keep peace and tranquility. Signed: No Drama Momma Dear Momma, Personally i think a man and a woman should always be open with each other in all things when in a relationship. However, it should never be spoken on with anyone outside of that. From what i see the real problem is someone telling someone who's telling someone who told the wrong someone what someone said or did, etc. Too much gossiping and storytelling going on here. Everyone needs to learn to zip it and keep some things to themselves.

Dear Close The Door, First he's talking with you about it so its something that's bothering him. As his woman, he's sharing this info with you... isn't that what you want in your man? Second, do you think he wants her or just a little unsure of your man? Is he doing anything suspicious? Hiding his phone from you? Not letting you see any emails or texts? Check for the obvious and see if there's any basis for your suspicions.

Dear Every Woman, Men of quality and intelligence are not at all threatened. Men strive to find intelligent, confident, savvy women to be with and associate with. I've heard many men state that they find these type of women fascinating and highly desirable. Be yourself, be confident and project a positive, independent image, men WILL find you alluring in that respect. DON'T be another needy, clinging vine SL female who scares men off. 14 Why do guys lie even tho they have been caught and it's evident that they have been busted, but they still try to lie? Signed: Lets Be Straight Dear Let's Be Straight, It's in their genetic code to lie. Even when caught in the act. Accept the fact that this is the way men are wired. Its just in mens nature to conquer and have as many as we possibly can before their backs go out. That doesn't mean they all will cheat, but it IS a challenge finding one that won't.

To Alt or not to Alt by Gia If you've been in Second Life for any amount of time, and you've been watching, listening and paying attention to all that goes on around you... then you'll have probably witnessed some specific behaviors in this virtual world that maybe at first you didn't comprehend. For seasoned residents of SL, we've all compared notes on our inworld experiences. We've seen the "builders", who build some of these amazing backdrops, sims, buildings and other structures. There are those that start or already have businesses they promote inworld. Even large corporations and schools/ teachers use SL as a training and teaching tool. There are the "creators", who bring structures, clothing, shoes, skins, shapes, hair, jewelry, furniture, accessories and more to lend itself to the similarities of RL, to make Second Life the interesting and addicting place it is. Of course, there is the Second Life talent, which is primarily the club DJ's, hosts and live singing artists who keep crowds listening and moving to their 42 Flavah Magazine

There are also those who do meet and actually become either SL partners, or some may move their virtual lives into actual real life partnerships. We know about those that choose to have pixel babies and children... with real life adults taking on the roles of toddlers or children to live with their Second Life families. And let us not forget those that like RP (role play) and fantasy... such as fairies, gnomes, dragons, slaves and masters, neckos, robots, various animals and a host of other 'beings'. Second Life has something for everyone...

This behavior has repeatedly shown the real life problems these people have that are not being addressed. So they come to Second Life hoping to replace their Real Life with something else that they think they can hold onto inworld. We've watched some who are in denial about their personal problems. Those who blame everyone else for their misfortunes in Real Life and especially in Second Life. The biggest issue in SL involving meeting someone new, is that most women think dancing with a man entitles them to ownership. Even worse, if he happens to
