[HE SAID]

DAVID

Well, how about that! Never been to Hawaii! Well, you never indicated your age so I’ll step lightly here. Presuming that you are of legal age to “go to Hawaii” then by all means...GO! I completely consider the two related, you see. Seeing as you are possibly a 40-year-old virgin, perhaps THIS is your chance to find YOUR special purpose! Whatever you do, keep your wits about you. Remember to breath and for God’s sake, buy some breathe mints. You can never do over a first impression. Just ask my wife, Margie! And she STILL married me! Good luck, keep your wallet in your front pocket and let me know if you find that special someone.

[QUESTION] Hey guys! Well Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and I have never had a girlfriend, nor have I been to Hawaii...which one first? Waiting for Guffman…

[SHE SAID] Never had a girlfriend, huh? Interesting. Now, I’m not saying you need someone to complete you, but I do feel as though Hawaii is a romantic place and would be more fun if you were enjoying activities with a companion. Although, if you do choose Hawaii, then I recommend bellying up to the beach bar and hitting on a hot hula girl! Perhaps, you’ve been looking for love in all the wrong places and you were meant to meet a Hawaiian girl. I don’t believe I have been much help. Best of luck in your search to find the perfect woman. I must admit, this is the most random question I have ever been asked…just sayin’.

A REAL SNO-CCESS

STORY

T

ucker Hibbert is one of the top Snocross racers of all time. He is the owner and rider of Team Monster Energy/Arctic Cat and was a 2011 ESPN ESPY nominee for best male action sport athlete. Hibbert grew up in Thief River Falls and now currently resides in Pelican Rapids. Throughout Hibbert’s Snocross career he has won nearly every award in the sport.

W

hile preparing for the second-half of the ISOC National Snocross Tour, FM Spotlight caught up with Hibbert to talk racing and success.

Q&A With TUCKER HIBBERT SPOTLIGHT: You got started racing when you were eight. What got you interested in racing?? HIBBERT: My dad got me interested. He raced snowmobiles and motorcycles his entire life so I pretty much grew up around racing. I wanted to be like my dad so I started riding when I was really young and raced as soon as I was old enough to enter competitions. It kind of snowballed from there. SPOTLIGHT: How do you feel about all of the success you’re having? HIBBERT: It’s cool. I’ve been working really hard my entire career and I’ve had a lot of success and some not so good races. It’s a part of racing; it’s always up and down. You’re always trying to improve. I’ve been fortunate to have good people on my team to help me do well in racing and to be successful as a team. So it’s been really cool to have big achievements. We’re always working hard to try to do better. SPOTLIGHT: What’s your secret? HIBBERT: I can’t tell you my secret otherwise it wouldn’t be a secret [laughs]. There is no secret. Racing is all about preparation, hard work and being ready to go. Like I’ve said, I’ve had lots of great people on my team to help me be prepared. SPOTLIGHT: What’s the hardest part about being a professional racer? HIBBERT: It’s all a challenge. One of the biggest things for me is that I own and operate my own team so it’s not a situation where I can just show up to work and do my part. It’s a never-ending job. I can’t go home at 5 o’clock and relax. There’s neverending work to be done. You can always improve and make things better. It always seems like there’s not enough time in the day.

RIDER BIO BIRTHDATE: 6.24.84 BIRTHPLACE: Driggs, Idaho CURRENT RESIDENCE: Pelican Rapids, Minnesota TURNED PRO: November 2000 NICKNAME: T-Train FIRST SNOWMOBILE: Arctic Cat Kitty Cat INTERESTS: Mountain biking, cycling and graphic design FAVORITE FOOD: Hot Stuff Hawaiian Pizza

SPOTLIGHT: You grew up in this area. What’s your favorite part about coming back? HIBBERT: I went to school in Thief River Falls. I grew up around the Arctic Cat factory, which has helped me in my racing. It’s awesome to be close to the factory and the engineers to make sure the snowmobiles are the best they can be. All the people around here are really nice and hard working. It’s fun to be around people who are dedicated to snowmobiling and love the sport. SPOTLIGHT: You’ve won a lot of races in your career. Are there any that stand out the most? HIBBERT: Every race is special in its own way. There’s been a lot of racing over the years. Each time there seems to be something better than the last. A cool race for me was the World Championship in Sweden. I was able to win the World Championship at my first attempt. It was really cool to win my first race overseas. Racing the X Games every year has also been really cool. That’s an event that’s first class and really fun as a team to compete at. SPOTLIGHT: What are your plans for the future? HIBBERT: I’m going to keep racing snowmobiles and motorcycles for as long as I can. I don’t have a set date to quit racing. See how my body holds up. As long as I’m prepared and having fun I want to be out there on the race track competing.

Hibbert will be appearing at the Fargo National Snocross event at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon on March 2-3.
