OCTOBER 2010 ISSUE #6

FMSPOTLIGHT.COM version 2.0 FM Spotlight is dedicated to helping the community of Fargo-Moorhead enjoy the area’s entertainment, events, dining, music, nightlife, and anything but floods!

ROCKTOBER FEST!!!

O

ctober is a really big month for FM Spotlight and the community of FargoMoorhead. Not only is it Breast Cancer Awareness month, it is jammed packed with events, and school is back in session. This town is hot and happening right now. I think everyone is trying to squeeze every last drop out of the nice weather before the bitterness comes. For FM Spotlight, I launch a new and super-improved social networking website. Still called www.fmspotlight.com, but now possesses amazing interactive features and content. Essentially creating an online city, where everyone has an identity and can interact with each other. I am also glad to announce a new radio segment on Froggy 99.9 I will be partaking in. Shawn from Froggy and I, created “The Weekend Warriors” at 5pm on Thursdays. We will devote 30 minutes to informing you with what is going on for the weekend. This is something I think the area needs. So now there are no more excuses. You have a publication, website, and radio show to let you know where to have fun in this town. No more “there’s nothing to do here” comments! Well get out and enjoy Oktoberfest, donate to Breast Cancer Awareness, go tailgating, and just get out and enjoy yourself. Thanks again to everyone, see you and be seen. Enjoy the rest of the Mag,

Check them out live! Windbreak Saloon Sunday, October 10th

“Dirty Word" or what I call them, "The George

Carlin Band", is one of the most talented bands to play in the Fargo-Moorhead area. These guys play funk, rock, soul, country or requests, and make you get off of your seat and bust a move. Believe me, I was one of those people. I recommend going to their myspace page and playing the songs "Crazy" or "Any Way You Want It". Then get off the couch, go check this band out, and meet the members, they will really impress you. Just don't try anything crazy, or they will wash your mouth out with soap.

Some Artists Covered: Prince, Knarls Barkley, Michael Jackson, Charlie Daniels Band, Journey, Led Zeppelin, and Justin Bieber <---Just Kidding Rock on! -Drago facebook.com/DirtyWord

Look Mom! There Are SHENANIGANS Going On! Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR!!! –Disturbed/Avenged Sevenfold – Fargodome, October 3rd OH MAN! With the amount of pyrotechnics taking place at this show, you better bring eyebrow protection! I was talking with Avenged Sevenfold’s label and they informed me that there is so much fire going on by drummer, Mike Portnoy, that he has to wear an oxygen mask…that’s what I call entertainment!! Oktoberfest – PUB CRAWL, October 9th

Coheed and Cambria – The Venue, October 12th

This is THE pub crawl of Fargo and it’s the last day of Oktoberfest! With the marathon going on in the morning and the pub crawl going on in the afternoon, downtown is going to be a sea of people wanting to have fun. Look for the giant line of stumbling people carrying orange mugs…that’s the pub crawl. Get in on the action at OktoberFestFargo.com!!

Known mostly for their omega hit tune “Welcome Home” Coheed and Cambria graces the Venue this month. The entire band is centered on the concept that “Coheed and Cambria” are two comic book characters on a journey, with the music narrating every move. You have played these guys songs on Rock Band a million times, now see them live!!

Bullet for My Valentine – The Venue, October 14th This is one the biggest British metal bands in the past 10 years. I agree, their name sucks, but their music is one-of-a-kind!! Listen for the hits “Scream, Aim, Fire” and “Your Betrayal” on October14th!! Oh, I almost forgot to tell you about a kick ass deal – if you buy a pre-sale ticket to Bullet for My Valentine, you can get a ticket to Coheed and Cambria for just $10!

For more Sparks & info on these events - go to Q98.com

Can I save you money? Call today to compare.
