Julebyen Tønder Tønder har lange traditioner, når det gælder jul og handel. På byens historiske torv er der julemarked fra den anden weekend i november. Åbningen sker altid om lørdagen med deltagelse af ca. 60 julemænd fra Dansk Julemandslaug. Tønder har Sønderjyllands bedste åbningstider op mod jul - når julemarkedet åbner er der åbent i alle butikker ligefrem til juleaften. Weihnachtsstadt Tønder Tønder hat lange Traditionen, wenn es um Weihnachten und Handel geht. Am historischen Marktplatz der Stadt findet ab dem zweiten Wochenende im November ein Weihnachtsmarkt statt. Die Eröffnung findet immer samstags statt, mit Teilnahme von ca. 60 Nikoläusen vom Dansk Julemandslaug. Tønder hat die besten Öffnungszeiten in ganz Südjütland in der Weihnachtszeit – wenn der Weihnachtsmarkt öffnet, haben alle Geschäfte täglich bis Heiligabend geöffnet. The Christmas town Tønder Tønder has long traditions, when it comes to Christmas and trade. Beginning the second weekend in November, the Christmas fair can be found on the historical town square. The Christmas fair is always opened on a Saturday, and around 60 Santa Clauses from the Danish Father Christmas guild participate. Tønder - Danmarks mest aktive handelsby To gange har Tønder nu modtaget titlen ”Danmarks mest aktive handelsby”. Det skete i 2006 og 2008. Byen er præget af en lang række aktiviteter - en 600 meter lang gågade byder på charme og specialbutikker. I sommerperioden kan man bl.a. opleve ”Gågademarked i gamle dragter” - eller du kan nyde Sommermusikken, der spiller på Torvet om lørdagen. Tønder er altid et besøg værd. Tønder - Dänemarks aktivste Handelsstadt Tønder hat bereits zwei Mal den Titel ”Dänemarks aktivste Handelsstadt” erhalten. In den Jahren 2006 und 2008. Die Stadt ist geprägt von einer langen Reihe von Aktivitäten - eine 600 Meter lange Fußgängerzone mit viel Charme und Spezialgeschäfte. In den Sommermonaten können Sie u. a. ”Fußgängermarkt in alten Trachten” erleben – oder Sie genießen die Sommermusik, die samstags am Torvet gespielt wird. Tønder ist immer ein Besuch wert. Tønder – the busiest market town in Denmark Twice, Tønder has been endowed with the title ”Denmark’s busiest market town”. It happened in 2006 and in 2008. The town has a wealth of opportunities – a 600 metre long pedestrian street offers charm, as well as speciality stores. During the summer period, you can experience, for example, ”The pedestrian street market in traditional dress” – or you may enjoy the Summer Music which is played on the town square, Torvet, on Saturdays. Snæbel-projekt Opstemningen ved Bachmanns Mølle i Tønder blev fjernet i sommeren 2009. Nu kan snæbler og laks frit svømme gennem det nye stenstryg og forbi møllen op til deres gydepladser. Projektet er en del af det store EU-LIFE Snæbel-projekt, der forbedrer forholdene for Danmarks sjældneste fisk, snæblen, i Vidå, Ribe Å, Sneum Å og Varde Å. Schnäpelprojekt Die Wasserhaltung bei Bachmanns Mühle in Tønder wurde im Sommer 2009 entfernt. Jetzt können Schnäpel und Lachs frei durch den neuen Steinweg und an der Mühle vorbei zu ihren Laichplätzen schwimmen. Das Projekt ist Teil des großen EU-LIFE Schnäpelprojektes, das die Lebenskonditionen des in Dänemark seltenen Fisches, Schnäpel in den Flüssen Vidå, Ribe Å, Sneum Å und Varde Å verbessern soll. The houting and Bachmanns Mølle in Tønder The damming of the water at the mill, Bachmanns Mølle, in Tønder came to an end in the summer 2009. Thus, the houting and the salmon can now swim freely through the rock-strewn stream and past the mill up to their spawning ground. This project is part of the big scale EU-LIFE houting project, which improves the conditions for the rarest fish in Denmark, the houting, in several streams, Vidå, Sneum Å and Varde Å.
Tønder Festival Tønder Festival rangerer i dag blandt de største og vigtigste folkemusikfestivaler i Europa og er internationalt kendt for den høje kvalitet af de kunstnere, der hvert år engageres til at optræde i Tønder. Festivalens musikalske linie dækker et bredt spekter af folkemusikken. Musikere fra Skandinavien, Europa, USA, Canada og lejlighedsvis andre verdensdele, kan her opleves indenfor såvel traditionelle som de mere rockprægede genrer. Tønder Festival ist heute einer der größten und wichtigsten Festivals für Folkmusik in Europa und ist international für die hohe Qualität der Künstler, die jedes Jahr auf dem Festival spielen, bekannt. Die musikalische Linie des Festivals deckt ein weites Gebiet der Folkmusik ab. Musiker aus Skandinavien, Europa, den USA, Kanada und gelegentlich auch aus anderen Teilen der Welt können hier sowohl in traditionellen Genres als auch in rockgeprägten Genres erlebt werden. Tønder Festival ranks among the largest and most important folk music festivals in Europe, and is internationally renowned for its high quality musicians, who are engaged every year to perform in Tønder. The Festival covers a broad spectre of folk music. Musicians from Scandinavia, Europe, the USA, Canada and now and again also from other parts of the world can be seen and heard with their traditional, as well as more rock inspired genres pieces.

Kniplings Festival i Tønder Hvert 3. år afholdes Kniplings-Festival i Tønder. Byen bærer præg af festivalen med udstillinger i byen, på Tønder Museum og i Drøhses Hus. I Tønderhallerne er der en stor salgsmesse og udstillinger. Der afholdes workshops og foredrag ud fra det valgte emne for årets festival. Årets Kniplings-Festival i Tønder finder sted i dagene d. 4., 5. og 6. juni 2010. Klöppelfestival in Tønder Jedes 3. Jahr findet in Tønder das Klöppelfestival statt. Die Stadt ist vom Festival geprägt in dem es Ausstellungen im Tønder Museum und im Drøhses Hus gibt. In den Tønderhallen gibt es eine große Verkaufsmessen und auch Ausstellungen. Des weiteren Workshops und Vorträge zum jeweiligen Thema des Festivals. Das Klöppelfestival in Tønder findet dies Mal statt vom 4. bis 6. Juni 2010. Lace Festival in Tønder Every 3rd year, the Lace Festival in Tønder is launched. The entire town bares witness to the festival with various exhibitions in the town, at Tønder Museum and in Drøhses Hus. In the Tønderhallerne, there is a grand marketing fair, as well as exhibitions. There are workshops and talks on the topics of the festival of the current year. The coming Lace Festival in Tønder takes place on the 4th, 5th and 6th June 2010.

Museum Sønderjylland Kulturhistorie Tønder I museet vises Tøndersølv, kniplinger, møbler, fajancer og hollandske fliser. Museets samlinger afspejler den velstand og sans for det gode håndværk, der prægede byen og egnen i studehandelens og kniplingsproduktionens tid i 16-1800-tallet.
Vandtårnet Byens vandtårn fra 1902 er i dag rammen om en udstilling med møbelarkitekten Hans J. Wegners stole. Fra tårnets top er der en fantastisk udsigt over byen, Tøndermarsken og et nyt naturgenopretningsprojekt, der skal redde den truede laksefisk snæblen.
Im Museum wird Tøndersilber, Klöppelarbeiten, Fayencen und holländische Kacheln ausgestellt. Die Sammlungen des Museums spiegeln den Wohlstand und Sinn für gutes Handwerk wider, der die Stadt und der Region prägten in der Zeit des Viehhandels und Klöppelproduktion um 1600 bis 1800.
Der Wasserturm Der städtische Wasserturm aus dem Jahre 1902 bildet heute den Rahmen um eine Ausstellung der Stühle des Möbelarchitekten Hans J. Wegner. Von der Turmspitze hat man einen wunderbaren Blick über die Stadt, die Tøndermarsch und ein neues Naturwiederherstellungsprojekt, der die kleine Lachsart Schnäbel retten soll.
The museum affords the history of civilisation in Tønder. There is Tønder silverware, lacework, furniture, faience and Dutch tiles. The exhibits reflect the wealth and sense of good handicraft, which characterised the town, and the region, during the times of cattle trading and lace work production in the period 16-1800. Kunstmuseet i Tønder Kunsthistorisk museums samlinger viser nordisk kunst og design fra det 20. århundrede.
The water tower in the town was built in 1902. Today, it is used to exhibit the chairs designed by the furniture architect Hans J Wegener. From the top of the tower, there is a fantastic view of the town, the marshes of Tønder, as well as a newly established restoration project which aims to save the salmon fish, the houting, which is dying out.
Die Sammlungen des kunsthistorische Museums zeigen nordische Kunst und Design aus dem 20. Jahrhundert. The collections currently exhibited, at the Museum of Art History, show Nordic art and design from the 20th Century.

Møgeltønder Danmarks smukkeste landsbygade. Sådan omtales Slotsgaden i Møgeltønder. Her finder man også Møgeltønder kirke med det rige inventar. Få kilometer fra Møgeltønder finder man mindestenene for de kendte Guldhorn - fundet i 1639 og 1734. Die schönste Dorfstrasse Dänemarks. So nennt man die Slotsgaden in Møgeltønder. Hier findet man auch Møgeltønder Kirche, die reich ausgestattet ist. Wenige Kilometer von Møgeltønder findet man die Gedenksteine der berühmten Goldenen Hörner, die in den Jahren 1639 und 1734 entdeckt wurden. The most beautiful village street in Denmark. That’s how Slotsgaden in Møgeltønder is spoken of. Here you will also find Møgeltønder church with the rich interior. Schackenborg Slot Byens store turistattraktion er naturligvis Schackenborg Slot - den rene idyl. Her bor Prinsesse Marie & Prins Joachim med deres lille Prins Henrik. Slottet blev kraftigt renoveret i midten af 90’erne - bl.a. via Folkegaven. Slottet er ikke tilgængeligt - men i sommerperioden er der rundvisninger i slotshaven. Billetter kan bl.a. købes på Tønder Turistbureau. Schloss Schackenborg Die große Hauptattraktion der Stadt ist selbstverständlich Schloss Schackenborg - ein idyllischer Ort. Hier wohnen Prinzessin Marie & Prinz Joachim mit dem kleinen Prinzen Henrik. Das Schloss wurde Mitte der 90’er durchgehend renoviert – u. a. über der Volksspende. Das Schloss ist nicht öffentlich zugänglich – aber im Sommer finden Führungen durch den Schlossgarten statt. Tickets erhalten Sie u. a. im Tønder Turistbureau.
Schackenborg Slot Naturally, the greatest tourist attraction in the town is Schackenborg Slot – a perfect idyl. In the castle, Princess Marie & Prince Joachim reside with their little Prince Henrik. The castle was renovated drastically in the mid 90s – in part thanks to the national gift “Folkegaven”. There is no access to the castle – but during the summer months there are guided tours in the castle gardens. Tickets can be bought, e.g. at Tønder Turistbureau. www.visittonder.dk

Højer Digebyen Højer er bl.a. kendt for sine sluser, der adskiller Vidåen fra Vadehavet. I de gamle gader er der idyl og charme. Her finder man bl.a. Møllen, som fungerer som Mølle- og Marskmuseum. Højer og vadehavet Som nabo til Vadehavet byder Højer på en storslået natur. Årets højdepunkt er det årlige Fåremærken, hvor tusindvis af gæster besøger Højer. Byen er også mekka for mange kunstnere og kunsthåndværkere. Højer und das Wattenmeer Højer besitzt mit dem Wattenmeer als Nachbar eine wundervolle Natur. Der jährliche Höhepunkt ist sicherlich der Schafsmarkt, wo viele Tausende Gäste die Stadt besuchen. Die Stadt ist des weiteren ein wahres Mekka für viele Künstler und Kunsthandwerker. Højer and the Wadden Sea As Højer is a neighbour to the Wadden Sea, the town affords grandiose natural scenery. The most important celebration is the annual sheep tagging (Fåremærken), where several thousands of people flock to Højer. The town is also a mecca for many artists and artisans.

Løgumkloster er vokset op omkring den gamle og meget velbevarede klosterkirke, som er en af landets smukkeste med en usædvanlig fin akustik i det store rum. Her afholdes mange koncerter. Løgumkloster entstand um die alte und sehr gut erhaltene Klosterkirche, die als eine der schönsten im Lande gilt und eine ungewöhnlich gute Akustik im großen Raum vorweisen kann. Hier werden viele Konzerte veranstaltet. Løgumkloster has evolved around the old, and very well-preserved monstery church, which is one of the most beautiful in Denmark and with exceptionally fine acoustics in the huge chapel. Many concerts take place here.

Løgumkloster Den historiske bymidte med store grønne områder omkranses af lave teglbelagte længe- og gavlhuse. Øst for kirken står tårnet med Kong Frederik IX’s klokkespil som er nordens største. Nationalpark Vadehavet forventes indviet i andet halvår af 2010 som Danmarks største nationalpark. Erleben Sie hier millionenweise Zugvögel und ”Schwarze Sonne” – ein Ballett am Himmel, aufgeführt von bis zu einer halben Millionen Stare wenn die Sonne untergeht sowie viel mehr große Natur. Das Gebiet hat auch eine einmalige Kulturgeschichte mit Deichen, Walfang, Schiffahrtsgeschichte, die älteste Stadt und Handelsort Dänemarks, eine Ministadt und vieles mehr anzubieten.

Nationalpark Vadehavet The official opening of Nationalpark Vadehavet, the Wadden Sea National Park, which is the largest of the national parks in Denmark, is expected to take place late in the year 2010.This park will give you the opportunity to experience millions of migrating birds, as well as Sort Sol (the black sun) – a ballet is performed in the sky by almost half a million starlings at sundown in the grand landscape. The region also offers unique pieces of cultural history, such as the dikes, whale catches, stories from seas, the oldest town in Denmark, a mini town and a lot more.
Bredebro Brede Å hører til blandt landets bedste fiskevande - her fanger man store fisk. Ikke langt fra Bredebro finder man resterne af det historiske Trøjborg Slot. I dag er det en slotsruin, der minder om en storhedstid med familien Rantzau. Der Fluss Brede Å gehört zu den besten Fischereigewässern des Landes – hier bekommt man viele große Fische an die Angel. Unweit von Bredebro findet man die Reste des historischen Schlosses Trøjborg. Heute eine Schlossruine, die an die Glanzzeit der Familie Rantzau erinnert. Brede Å, the stream, has some of the best water for fishing in the entire country – here you can catch big fish. Not far from Bredebro, you will find the remains of the historical castle, Trøjborg Slot. Today, it is a castle ruin which reminds us of the days of glory with the family Rantzau.

Toftlund Kulturlivet er meget rigt i Toftlund. Her findes Musik- og Teaterhuset, Kunstforeningen ”Vandtårnet”, Biograf og Bibliotek. Golf Brundtlandbanen med bl.a. en 18 huls bane. Byfest – sidste uge i juli med masser af aktiviteter hele ugen. In Toftlund finden Sie ein reiches Kulturleben. Hier gibt es das Musik- und Theaterhaus, den Kunstverein”Vandtårnet”, Kino und Bücherei. Die Golfanlage Brundtlandbanen mit u. a. eine 18 Loch Anlage.
