Koyama Parking opened las t f all an d it s f unk y interior had people doing double-t akes from the get-go. The counter wraps around a small grilling area, so you can enjoy watching the staff whip up your food while you wait. The decor and menu of seasonal Japanese dishes are both the brainchild of owner Osamu Kamiyama, whose first restaurant nearby was a big hit. From the appetizers to the drinks, the focus is on Kyushu ingredients. Start with the prosciutto-wrapped Amaou strawberries and cheese, then try the Wagyu cutlet sandwich or other unique dishes. Book in advance!

One street away from the bustling Takamiya-dori sits Udon Komaru, which is celebrating its first anniversary this month. Owner Nobuhiro Araki is an udon pro, having spent nearly 10 years honing his craft at a popular Sanuki-style udon shop in Yakuin. Although Araki’s udon is based on the Sanuki style, which is typified by its chewy noodles, he opts for a thinner, suppler noodle instead of the typical thicker one. This 450-year-old festival is a Fukuoka intangible folk cultural asset. A large mikoshi (portable shrine) is pulled across the Hikosan River by 60 men along with 10 luxuriously decorated floats. 「一年一度將風治八幡宮的神明們抬上轎，和其他山笠一起渡河至對 岸的旅行」這個被指定為福岡縣無形民俗文化財的祭典活動，已經 有 450 年以上的歷史。在鼎沸的人聲中由 60 個人抬起大神轎與其他 10 台豪華絢爛的山笠橫渡彥山川的場面正是最值得來看的一幕。

후쿠오카현의 무형민속문화재. 신이 가마 를 타고 1년에 한 번 강 건너편으로 여행을 떠나고 각 가마가 이를 따른다는 이야기를 표현한 것으로 대형 가마가 약 10대의 작은 가마와 함께 히코산강을 건너는 장면이 최대 볼거리이다. 19일 밤에는 조명으로 장식된 가마와 노점 등도 등장.

6월 하카타자 카부키 후나노리코미
6월부터 시작되는 하카타자 카부키 공연에 앞서 출연 배우들이 여러 척의 배에 나눠 타고 세이류 공원에서 하카타자까지 배를 타고 이동하는 전통 행사. 꽃가루가 날리고 음악이 울려 퍼지는 가운데 진행되는 초여름을 상징하는 풍경 중 하나이다. 함께 손을 흔들고 성원을 보내보자.

ITOSHIMA’S ELECTRIC-ASSISTED RENTAL BICYCLES
Itoshima’s coastline is gorgeous but getting around without a car is tough, and not everybody is a Tour de France cyclist! To the rescue is a service offering electric-assisted bicycles. They are easy to control and have a range of about 40 kilometers. You still need to pedal, but you’ll never break a sweat. We took one out for a 7-hour spin. See masterpieces like Renoir's Portrait of Mademoiselle Irene Cahen d'Anvers and for the first time outside of Switzerland, a 2 m x 4 m painting from Monet's Water Lilies series. This could be your last chance to see these beautiful works before they are transferred permanently to the Kunsthaus Zürich in 2020. ONE COLLECTOR, ONE IMPRESSIVE COLLECTION Having lived through both world wars, the successful German-born industrialist Emil Georg Bührle was a passionate art collector his whole life. He spent the latter half of his life in Switzerland, where he amassed his world-renowned collection of impressionist art between 1937 and his death in 1956. In 1960, a foundation established by Bührle’s heirs opened a private art gallery in a villa next to his former residence to showcase the collection. After the theft of four paintings worth CHF 180 million (¥17.5 billion) made worldwide headlines in 2008, public access to the collection was restricted. An agreement has been reached to transfer the entire collection to the Kunsthaus Zürich in 2020.

Dontaku, derived from the Dutch word Zondag (holiday) is one of the largest festivals in Japan attracting two million spectators. On May 3 & 4, the parades begin with the Hakata Matsubayashi procession, which has celebrated the new year for the last 839 years.

하카타 마츠바야시 5월 3일(목·공휴일)~5월 4일(금·공휴일) 9:00~17:00 장소: 구시다 신사 출발 돈타쿠 퍼레이드의 개막을 장식하는 하카타 마츠바야시. 각각 말에 올라탄 세 명의 신과 춤추는 어린이들의 행렬이 개막을 축하하며 시내를 순회한다.
돈타쿠히로바(퍼레이드) 5월 3일(목·공휴일) 13:00~19:00 5월 4일(금·공휴일) 15:00~20:00 장소: 메이지도오리(고후쿠마치→텐진 사이 1,270m) 돈타쿠부대가 저마다 개성 있는 차림을 하고 펼치는 축하 행사. 총인원 약 2만 2천 명에 달하는 압권의 퍼레이드. 돈타쿠 플라워 마칭 5월 4일(금·공휴일) 15:00~17:00 장소: 돈타쿠히로바 유치원, 초˙중˙고, 대학, 기업, 각 관청의 마칭밴드가 참가하여 화려한 연주 퍼레이드를 펼친다. 16:30~18:30에는 시청 앞 무대에서 밴드 연주가 열린다. 특별참가 돈타쿠부대 5월 3일(목·공휴일), 5월 4일(금·공휴일) 장소: 돈타쿠히로바 일본을 포함한 세계 각국의 축제가 돈타쿠히로바의 퍼레이드에 참가, 각지의 축제 교류가 이루어진다.

博多松囃子 5 月 3 日（週四、 節日）~ 5 月 4 日（週五、 節日） 9:00~17:00 會場：櫛田神社出發 「博多松囃子」保留著濃厚的中世紀民族文化 色彩，作為「博多 Dontaku」的起源，將於妝 點 Dontaku 節日遊行的開幕。乘坐在馬上的三 福神 ( 福神、惠比須、大黑 ) 和孩童們一起在市 區巡迴慶祝。 Dontaku 廣場（遊行） 5 月 3 日（週四、節日）13:00~19:00 5 月 4 日（週五、節日）15:00~20:00 會場：明治大道（呉服町→天神間 1,270m） Dontaku 隊穿著各種不同的服裝在街道上祝賀 遊行，約 2 萬 2 千人參加的遊行非常精彩。 Dontaku 花之演奏遊行 5 月 4 日（週五、節日）15:00~17:00 会場：Dontaku 廣場 幼稚園、小學、初中、高中、大學、企業、政府 機關的儀樂隊參加演奏遊行，精彩動人。16:30 ～ 18:30 在市政府前的「節日主設舞台」進行 樂隊演奏。
