Tonkotsu ramen purveyor Mankai opened its Oyafuko-dori shop on Jul. 11. Owner Yoshihiro Okunaga, whose parents ran a ramen shop, honed his skills for 19 years at Ippudo before opening Mankai inside Fukuoka Airport. The Oyafuko shop is his second in Fukuoka, and the first on street level. Okunaga is serious about his ramen. He makes his soup in-house from scratch using only pork bones, and his noodles—thin, straight and low in water content—stay true to the Hakata style. The braised pork, made from belly and thigh meat, is sliced only after you order it to ensure juiciness. The menu features three kinds of ramen: Junton, made with Fukuoka’s own Jokyu soy sauce, Shioton, with an umami-packed seafood base and Tomaton, which features a unique blend of black olives, cheese, and tomato sauce. These original twists on Hakata’s tonkotsu ramen are sure to garner the attention of foodies throughout Fukuoka.
博多純豚骨拉麵 MANKAI 天神親不孝通店
오야후코도오리에 7월 11일에 오픈한 돈코츠 라멘 전문점 만카이. 라멘 가게를 운영하는 부모님 아래에서 자란 뒤 잇푸도에서 19년간 일한 라멘 장인 오쿠나가씨가 제2의 고향이라 단 언하 는 후 쿠오 카 에 서 후 쿠오 카 공항 에 이어 처음으 로 노면점을 열었다. 가게에서 돼지 뼈로 직접 우려낸 육수와 얇고 곧게 뻗은 면은 정통 하카타 라멘 스타일을 고수한 것. 삼겹살과 다리살로 만드는 두 가지 차슈 는 주문을 받은 뒤 한 장씩 썰어내 촉촉한 육즙이 살아있다. 후쿠오카의 노포 교큐 간장으로 만든 쥰톤, 해산물의 감칠맛이 살아있는 시오톤, 블랙올리브와 치즈, 특제 토마토소스를 곁들인 토마톤 등이 주요 메뉴. 만카이는 앞으로 더 주목받는 라멘 전문점이 될 듯하다.

In 2017 there were 17,000 reported cases of tuberculosis in Japan and it affects not only the elderly but younger generations too. It is said that 1/4 of the world’s population has contracted tuberculosis. If diagnosed early, it can be cured; undiagnosed, untreated cases, however, can spread and even result in death. The main symptoms are coughing, fever, phlegm, phlegm with blood, chest pain, dullness, night sweats and weight loss. If you have had a cough for over two weeks or have any of the above symptoms, please get checked. Fukuoka City offers free chest X-ray examinations for students at Japanese language schools and their families, and people who entered Japan within the last five years and are yet to have been examined.

Located in the basement of JR Hakata City, this standing bar specializes in Kyushu sake. Open 10 am to 11 pm, the bar attracts a regular crowd and sake fans from near and far. The menu features nine varieties, including standards and limited-run seasonal sake, so there is always something new or seasonal to try. Beginners can try the sake tasting set—three sake in 60 ml glasses. Not sure what to order? Ask the manager, Tadokoro-san, or one of the friendly waitstaff. With autumn comes the seasonal hiyaoroshi, pasteurized sake made in the spring and stored cold over the summer. No menus in English, but everyone’s welcome!

First opened in 1977, Bimi is known nationwide for its deep roasted nel drip (flannel cloth filter) coffee. On the first floor, you can buy roasters and coffee beans, and upstairs you can relax in the cafe space. Owner Mitsuko Morimitsu, who took over the shop from the original owner, roasts beans early in the morning three times a week. On hot days she recommends the mazagran, a cold sweetened coffee with a touch of rum and topped with cream. Bimi offers seven types of single-origin straight coffee and five blends. The strong, rich demitasse coffee is also delightful.

Koko Kobo & Cafe
Perched above the Nijo Parking Area along coastal Route 202, Koko produces original ceramics inside her own studio complete with a kiln. Two years ago she expanded, adding a cafe space in which visitors admire her pottery and other collectibles. Another piece of art is her daily special lunch (¥1,300). Using mostly locally sourced veggies, the centerpiece is a large healthy salad accompanied by a hearty homemade soup and warm bread. Served on Koko’s ceramics, it’s almost too pretty to eat! This seven-day festival has a history of over one thousand years, and gives thanks for the blessings of nature. It’s one of Fukuoka’s big three festivals, and draws over one million visitors every year! Watch religious rituals and stage performances, and explore the one-kilometer path to the shrine, which is filled with 500 stalls offering games, tasty snacks (like takoyaki), fresh ginger and more. From Shinto rituals to stage performances to busy street stalls, Hojoya offers the entire Japanese festival experience!
這個感謝大自然恩惠的七日祭典已持 續了千年以上的歷史，是福岡三大祭 典之一。每年吸引超過一百萬人次旅 客造訪！觀賞宗教儀式和舞台演出， 或者探訪到神社前一公里的路徑，琳 琅滿目的 500 個攤位，包含了各種 遊戲、美味小吃（像是章魚燒） 、和 生薑等。從莊嚴的神社儀式到忙碌的 路邊攤販，在放生會體驗完整的日式 祭典！
하카타를 대표하는 축제 하코자키구 호죠야. 1주일에 걸쳐 본전에서는 여러 의식이 치러지며 경내 에 서는 각 종 행사가 열린다. 만물의 생명을 가엾이 여기고 살생을 경계하며 가을의 결실에 감사 하 는 이 축제의 기원은 10 0 0 년도 더 되었다고. 참배로에는 귀신의 집과 각종 게임, 수확해 바로 출하하는 신선한 생강 등 50 0여 개의 노점이 들어서며 총 100만 명이 방문한다.
