NaMo KERALA EXPECTATIONS AND ANTICIPATIONS page

08

NaMo KERALA “Modi is a good politician and an efficient administrator. He has a strong vision for India and that has brought me close to Narendra Modi. My only request to him is to rule the nation for a minimum period of 15 years and to change the earlier slogan of ‘India shining’ into ‘Indians shining’, were the words of Suresh Gopi towards NaMo India. Suresh Gopi, who was one among the special invitees for the Prime Ministerial oath taking ceremony of Narendra Modi, said that ‘I am much honored and privileged and more over humbled to be invited and be a part of the occasion.’ When asked about the expectations of NaMo Kerala, he said, I do have a strong vision for our future. Though I do not follow any political protocol, I do have my set of principles. So far, we have been under the negativity of corruption, unduly price hikes of all day to day necessities making life difficult, safety of women and children are at stake, environment cleanliness and health issues. I hope the new government would do its best to resolve the existing issues and make India a better and safe place. If so would be happy to provide all sorts of support and help from my end for the well being of the people, the betterment of our state and country.’

hile watching a game, we often get to hear “They should have done it this way or that way and what not”. Unaware of the tensions building up among the players, though they give their best, we let out our set of opinions, But have you ever tried to view the game from their perspective; the pressure, anxiety and moreover the stress that would be building up. It is always easier to give opinions though being in their shoes we get to know what they actually go through. I have come across many such situations in life. When my friends approach me with their problems, I am able to come up with one solution or the other within no time. Though, when I am put in a similar situation I find myself unable to unravel the mystery. Why does this happen? When we are in a crisis, we tend to concentrate more on the problem than the possibilities of how to get out of it. It can also be due to the emotions that are attached to the decision probably. Or that we opt for the most comfortable way out. The way our thoughts narrow down to behold the situation and the problem, drains out the possibility of finding a favorable solution. It is just because we create our own limitations. Sometimes we are unaware of the solution that would be present in front of us. Nevertheless when we think for a second person, we tend to think out of the box may be. Our thoughts are clearer as no emotion binds us.

We are able to gaze around to find all the possible solutions as our thoughts have the maximum reach. Well, there are many who can find it a bit embarrassing to ask for help and keeps on harassing the brain. Even when they are neck deep in the problem, they are reluctant to ask for help. Give it a break. May be focusing on something different for the time being would relax the mind and enhance the possibility to find better solutions. Whatever may be the option you choose, it is always recommended never to stack up your problems and emotions to yourself. Though you may feel strong enough to handle it on your own and stay calm outside, it is sure to erupt once. So always give a try to solve the problems on your own or if you feel it’s more than you can handle, it’s better to reach out. As said: If a problem can be solved, no need to worry about it. If a problem cannot be solved, what is the use worrying. So, what’s up Trivandrum?

he evergreen city of India beckons me of prosperity, harmony and history. The riches and glory of my city is not because of its ancient history that is dating back to 1000 BCE. It’s also not because of the prestigious Padmanabhaswamy Temple or Museum, but the tranquility between the people, the culture and the aspiring youth. As I type out the memoir on this page, my heart goes out to my hometown. A voyage from Bangalore to Trivandrum… My train of thoughts reels from Bangalore to Trivandrum in a wink of an eye. Memories are an individual’s private library. All of us are a slave of those private libraries. I reckon those memories are what I am made of. I am beguiled by the shore of dreams. Kovalam is a dream destiny to many. Why do I feel so? Each time when I step on to the shore of Shankumukam Beach and Kovalam, the dusk that welcomes the night for another dawn passes by in a drastic manner without letting us know that the time is actually reeling. My childhood was all about dreams. I dreamed about many a thing. I achieved all of them by the grace of almighty. But I do miss the shores of harmony. For all the time spent in this garden city, my heart longed to be in my hometown, feeling the summer rain, the mighty sky that lure many drifters to paint a tale. The pages from the diary ring a bell on the days I worked in Technopark. I was there for only a year. In the course of my adorned career, I keep that year above all. The work culture, professionalism, dedication is unmatched to any. I remember the busy evenings over a cup of coffee with my friends. I do not miss them, because we are always in touch. I wait for someone to visit me from Trivandrum. I love to hear about the place, about my friends, their life and all that I miss about the place. I do miss the place, yes. As one of my friends at work once told me, life is not all about work, you need moments to remember and enjoy all that’s beautiful in life. I myself believe that we live only once and we have to do all we can to fulfill all our dreams. My dreams may be on its track, but my heart goes out to my city, my Trivandrum.

will never forget the starry Sunday night in Cochin at Asianet Film Awards 2013, when for the first time I shared the couch at the red carpet with the multi-talented actor, the “Sakalakalavallabhan” of Indian cinema- Sri Kamal Hassan. Then he was all words about his movie “Viswaroopam” which was due to be released shortly. Luck struck me again when I interviewed this iconic

actor for the second time at Asianet Film awards in Dubai early this year. To me everything appeared the same as the last time – the same phenomenal persona, the same smile of humility, the same sparkle in his eyes with the only difference I presume would be that this thoughts would have been around “Viswaroopam 2” in the making now, as opposed to its predecessor. The black suit and the white shirt

Sakalakalavallabhane..

further amplified his innate charm and grace. When I welcomed him saying “ Swantham naatilekku swagatham” he was overwhelmed and acknowledged from the bottom of his heart that he loved to be called as a Malayalee.. I had kept a close watch on the several challenges faced by “Viswaroopam” prior to and during its early days of release. It was a great moment of joy when the movie turned out to be a great success, by overcoming numerous hurdles. Ever since, my desire to meet this man (who conquered the issues with so much poise) has only multiplied. Hence this meeting was special for me. He mentioned about his close friendships with the versatile actor MG Soman, Surasu and many more. When I requested him for a piece of advice to the aspiring talents of new generation, he responded saying “The quotes of Kamalhassan and the other successful actors of film fraternity like Mammootty, Mohanlal are old words, the current generation precisely knows what they want and got the right desire to chase and live their dreams” I would like to sign off by quoting one of his famous dialogues in Thevar Magan. “Today I sowed the seed, tomorrow you will eat after that your son will eat but the seed was sowed by me”. Yes the seed of versatility and experimentation in Indian Cinema was first sowed by Kamalji and now the entire film industry is harvesting; thanks to his experiments. We should never forget that !!
