A LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
Dear Reader, Welcome to Wool Studio Vol. V! This dark, evocative issue draws its inspiration from the ancient and beautiful city of Florence. The blend of Old-World architecture, Renaissance art, and sleek style make for an issue full of rich colors, captivating construction, unexpected cables, and chic silhouettes. These 10 head-turning projects will have you eager to cast on and wrap up with a dash of panache this winter. For this collection, we’re returning to a multi-contributor knitwear collection showcasing innovative and alluring designs from both new and established contributors. Thank you to all the designers who let their dreams of Florence imbue their knits with a touch of romance and mystery, telling a story through stitches and luxurious fibers. As with every issue of Wool Studio, the focus in this collection is on allowing beautiful yarns to shine by forming a design around the fibers, letting the fiber tell us what it wants to be. The result is gorgeous, wearable, and decadent knits for the modern woman’s wardrobe. Thank you to our partners who made this issue exceptional: Kelbourne Woolens, Skacel, Ancient Arts Fibre Crafts, Brown Sheep Company, Tahki Stacy Charles, Fairmount Fibers, The Trendsetter Yarn Group, Sugar Bush Yarns, Plymouth Yarn, Universal Yarn, and Louet North America. The Wool Studio journey began two years ago with a simple idea: beautiful yarns paired with modern style. I hope it continues to evolve and inspires all who turn its pages.
With love,
Meghan Babin Editor

Prairie Spun DK by Brown Sheep Company www.brownsheep.com
Brown Sheep Company, Inc. MITCHELL, NEBRASKA 30 Nebraska-spun wool yarns inspired by the colors of the prairie.
BROWN SHEEP COMPANY NATURE SPUN FINGERING Strong and smooth, Nature Spun is one of the most versatile yarns from the all-American, familyowned Brown Sheep Company. The extensive color range includes bold and subtle hues, some dyed over natural gray for a richly shaded palette. With the wool’s natural texture, it’s a perfect choice for colorwork. Color shown here: Grey Heather Additional colors and retailers can be found HERE.
LUCCA PULLOVER CHERYL TOY The Lucca Pullover is inspired by Florence’s history as an intellectual hub. The classic herringbone pattern combined with fingering-weight wool creates an airy, rather delicate fabric that’s modern, subdued, and cultivated.
