Illness/Disability Recipients

Beyond Limits Therapeutic Riding

Beyond Limits Therapeutic Riding serves the special needs community daily by offering therapeutic horseback riding lessons. Their $50,000 grant will enable them to offer scholarships to the special needs population who may not otherwise be able to afford such therapeutic services.

Ronald McDonald House in Gainesville provides comfortable beds, home cooked meals and all the comforts of home to families traveling to the area to seek medical care for their children. They’re “Making Room for More Families” and are renovating a vacant structure to expand their Ronald McDonald House program—the expansion will have a suite capacity for 50 families and make it possible to serve 682 additional families each year. This $50,000 gift will help sponsor a room at Our House for perpetuity at their new location.

Gas South District

Gas South District, which we acquired the naming rights for in 2020, is another way we’ve been able to help foster strong ties in the community. Located in Duluth, Ga., this premier entertainment destination includes Gas South Arena, Gas South Convention Center and Gas South Theater.

In May, we were proud to take part in the Gas South District Speaker Series event featuring Ambassador Andrew Young. This series brings distinguished leaders to Gwinnett County to talk about current events, trends and ideas that enrich lives and create conversations that strengthen the community. This year, our own Aisha DeBerry, Gas South’s Manager of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, moderated the event featuring Andrew Young.

We were also pleased in May to take part in the annual Latin American Association’s Latina Empowerment Conference at Gas south District. This year’s event brought more than 800 Latinas from metro Atlanta and beyond for an experience designed to inspire and empower them in their own lives and in the community.
