Class 46 Pairs A matching pair of plants grown in individual containers of the same species or cultivar. Class 47 Mother Daughter A single plant, exhibited along with the mother plant from which it was propagated, in separate but compatible containers. Container requirement, as stated in the Horticulture Guidelines, is waived, though may not exceed 12” diameter, measured at the soil line on the interior of the container. Both the mother and daughter plants will be judged. GCA Propagation card required, available for download from GCAmerica.org. Class 48 Provisional Challenge A plant to be grown in a clay pot provided by the committee. Class is open only (and mandatory) to the Provisional Members of The Garden Club of Houston. Distribution date is no later than October 20, 2021. Class 49 Member Challenge A selection of seeds to be grown in a container provided by the exhibitor. Class is limited to 6 members. No fee but registration is required. GCA Propagation card required, available for download from GCAmerica.org. A white unlined 4” x 6” propagation card detailing complete cultural information including dates planted and growing conditions, is required. Seed packets and containers distributed no later than October 20, 2021. Class 50 Par An exhibit of exceptional horticultural merit, which does not qualify for entry elsewhere in the Horticulture Division. Entries in the Par class must have been owned and grown by the exhibitor for a minimum of one year. Cut specimens, orchids, or hanging baskets are not permitted. Containers may not exceed 12” diameter, measured diagonally.
