Asian Art Museum

The Asian Art Museum, located in San Francisco, California, is one of the world’s finest collections of Asian art. The objective of this out-of-home campaign is to draw visitors to the new exhibit, “My House, My Tomb,” by Afruz Amighi. The creator was inspired by

the religious architecture of the Taj Majal and understood it as both a place of refuge and solace. The contrast of black and white is crucial to the artist and the meaning behind her work. With this in mind, I designed the advertisements utilizing only black & white.

The Hobbit

A book publisher has requested a redesign of the book, The Hobbit , by J.R.R. Tolkien. The Hobbit is a popular fantasy novel that was originally published in 1937. The requested design was to be based on the author’s existing book cover concept, followed by my interpretation of the story.

I experimented with typographic, photographic, and illustrative approaches before I finalized the design. The final design represents the Hobbit’s point of view while on his journey through the forest. Through my multiple rounds of ideation, I found this imagery to be the most enticing to potential readers.

Final Book Jacket Design (Illustrative Concept)

My process of ideation included experimentation with different styles and layouts. I used forestry, dragons, and mountains to display the imagery I felt was most influential to the story.

Papago Hive Honey

A Phoenix-based brand, Papago Hive Honey, requested a complete re-brand for their jarred honey. The company sells their products across Arizona and proudly sources all their ingredients from local farmers. The new design reinforces the Arizona pride element and is easily adaptable to new flavors.

The identity included a new logo, packaging design, and print advertisements. To follow, Papago Hive Honey hosted a booth at a foodbased trade show. I pitched the booth design and branded products in a presentation to the client that displayed the pricing and production specifications of the proposed booth.

Orange Blossom, Plain, and Cinnamon Roll Honey Package Labels

The print advertisements were created to promote the launch of the three newest flavors. Each ad features creative typography that resembles the flavors of the unique flavors. The design is supported with elements from the packaging itself.

The Handmaid's Tale

I redesigned the cover of The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood. The objective of this redesign was to utilize a visual metaphor that represents the story. The Handmaid’s Tale follows the story of a woman who lives in a totalitarian government that has replaced the United States of America.

The futuristic society faces dangerously low reproduction rates and Handmaids are assigned to bear children for high-ranking citizens of Gilead. The vases displayed on the cover represent the Handmaids of Gilead and how they are viewed as nothing more than a vessel to carry children.

Final Dust Jacket Design

To create the final cover, I used many different materials to give the book a dimensional look. The materials used are oil pastels, acrylic paints, and watercolors. To the right you can see the initial comps in which I developed into the final book jacket design.

Big Easy Festival

Big Easy Festival is one of the largest events in Louisiana. Each year, thousands of visitors attend the festival to experience the vibrant culture of New Orleans. At the event, you will find cultural foods, local artists, and, of course, jazz music. For this upcoming year, a new

brand identity for the event was needed. The playful culture of New Orleans is represented throughout the geometric and colorful designs. Water bottles, backpacks, sunscreen, and t-shirts will be handed out as commemorative items for visitors to take home.

Atento Healthcare

Based in the Phoenix Metro Area, Atento Healthcare is an organization dedicated to serving the community. They are an affordable healthcare solution for under-served communities, and their goal is to serve a larger population of Hispanics in Phoenix. I executed a complete re-brand and created graphics to

be distributed amongst social media channels to help achieve their goal. I developed a website that is easily accessible for patients to schedule an appointment. Atento Healthcare also wanted to promote their company through a social media campaign that displays their values and who they are.

Vanity Fair Website

Vanity Fair is a monthly magazine subscription that first began in 1913. Along with their printed publications, they host a widely used website where many go for the latest news on culture, entertainment, politics, fashion, etc. I was tasked with re-designing the media website

following the existing brand guidelines. Included in this re-design are the homepage, user log-in, category pages, and articles. This project displays my grasp of typography, sense of layout design, also my understanding of user experience in web design.
