Ipnos is composed of an ultra-light skeleton of thin extruded aluminium, with LED light sources integrated in the upper edge to create an almost invisible light source. By day, you can look right through it, but in the evening – though transparent and lightweight –
it creates an intimate, suffused atmosphere. The Belvedere series, designed by Antonio Citterio, also offers deliberately understated design. The lamps have been conceived as camouflaged, discreet objects which – when immersed in a garden – can only be vaguely perceived. The choice of name, Belvedere, is a tribute to the long history of the Italian garden, thick with memories and culture. Barber & Osgerby designs DEDON’s first teak collection DEDON has teamed up with Barber & Osgerby to create its first collection in teak, TIBBO. Comprising a dining chair, four sizes of dining table, two sizes of bench, a lounge chair, coffee table and a side table, the collection is handcrafted from slow-growth, premium teak sourced from sustainable plantations. TIBBO conveys a sense of architectural rigour in both its construction and proportions. At a spectacular 3.5m in length, the largest of the dining tables stands on just four legs, accommodating 10 diners with ease. Time for al fresco dining Al fresco is the new in, but if venues don’t have a well-designed area, customers may go elsewhere. SCAB Design unveils new products for 2017 It was 1957 when Francesco Battaglia – now joined by his daughters Luisa and Francesca and his nephew Adelchi – started his own furniture production business in Brescia, Italy, creating practical, modern chairs and tables designed to make outdoor life more comfortable.
