The Diabetes Lifestyle Expo is a One Day event on Saturday, December 3, 2016 open to the public for the first time ever in order to engage both medical experts and the Greater Atlanta community in the discussion of preventing diabetes and its complications. Attendees will experience educational presentations, interactive vendor booths, fun physical activities and so much more! Also, hear from Celebrity Guest Speaker, Jay Hewitt - an elite Ironman triathlete and only person with Type 1 diabetes to race for the U.S. National Triathlon Team! We are excited to share vital resources and education with those who need it most. We invite you to be a part of this historic and valuable day! OUR MISSION: To prevent diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THE EXPO? Finding people who is interested in improving different aspects of their health, as well as preventing or managing diabetes, and equipping them with the tools they need to do so. WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE IN THE EXPO? Anybody who is interested in: • Diabetes Information • Health screenings • Fitness • Healthy Living and Healthcare Products • Compassionate communication • Nutrition • Family friendly health education • Gift Items and Premiums ….and much more


Reindeer Run 5K, 10K, & Fun Run Macon, 8:30 AM This annual Christmas downtown tradition will be held at Tattnall Square Park. The race benefits the Children’s Hospital. Part of the Macon Tracks OrthoGeorgia Race Series.


Last year was one for the books and this year we're looking forward to having you all with us again...and your friends. WODs are posted, registration is live and will remain open until Nov. 23. We will be enforcing the registration dates to give us plenty of time to plan for everyone, so please be sure to register as soon as possible. Langston Road Jingle Jog 5K

Perry, 9:00 AM - December 10, 2016 This race will be held at Langston Road Elementary School. Proceeds will go toward enhancing technology in the classrooms as well as purchasing books for classrooms and playground equipment for students.

Hey! Our youth Christmas gathering will be at the Centreplex to cheer on our Macon Mayhem! We will meet at the Centreplex at 7. Tickets are $16 unless you have 30 or more points total from Oct. 1st to Dec. 10th. If you have made the points goal, the church will pay for your ticket. This 4th annual race is in memory of Alana Land, a cross country runner who was killed in a car accident on Oct. 20, 2013. The race will take place at Jones County High School. All proceeds from this year’s race will go towards building the Jones County playground for disabled children.

Sunday January 8, 2017—Its free if you are a registered member. Members Only! This is a GUTS event and is free, but is only open to current GUTS members. Please register to become a member FIRST before signing up for this free event.

Course The course is 6 loops, on the white trails (counter-clockwise/down Jack's and up the stairs). All trail, with a few hills. Start/Finish will be at the Group Shelter. Hot food will be available at the finish. So, come join us for this fun, astronomically low-key run! Burn off those holiday pounds and run more than anyone has the right to enjoy! You have nothing to lose except those holiday pounds and run more than anyone has the right to enjoy! CUTOFF: Runners must start the final loop by 3:00 PM.

FatAss Crockpot Chili Contest! Bring your best chili and vie for a special GUTS prize! Please bring the chili in a crockpot because we don't have enough burners on the stove for everyone. GUTS will provide the bowls and utensils as well some yummy chili toppings. Each runner will be given a ballot to vote for their favorite chili and the winner will receive a special award.


New Year's Mindfulness Retreat: Being Present in the New Year January 13, 2017

Do you feel as if your year passes by in a blur? Would you like to practice being more present and centered during 2017? Come join Dena and Jason for this two -day retreat designed to give you tools to help you be present in each moment. We will have periods of practicing multiple mindfulness meditations and times for discussion of these practices. The hope is to not set a resolution for the new year, but an intention that will lightly and graciously guide your year, viewing each day as a gift.

Facilitators: Dena Douglas Hobbs and Jason Hobbs Dates: Friday, January 13 through Saturday, Januar y 14, 2017. Schedule: We w ill begin gathering at 6:00PM on Saturday, w ith an official start at 6:30PM. The evening meeting will last until 8:00PM. We will gather again the next morning at 8:30AM, starting our practice at 9:00AM. We will have multiple periods of practice, discussion, and eating together with the retreat ending at 1:30PM. Food: There w ill be snacks and a light breakfast offered during the gathering times. There will be a lunch included on Saturday. If there are dietary considerations, please let us know ahead of time. Location: The Saint Francis Arts Center is located on the campus of Saint Francis Episcopal Church in Macon. Materials: All materials w ill be provided although you are w elcome to bring a notebook if you like. Registration: You are w elcome to register through Eventbrite, although you w ill be charged their fee. Museum of Aviation Marathon, Half Marathon, and 5K

Robins AFB, 8:00 AM - January 14, 2016 This 21st annual race is organized by the Museum of Aviation Foundation and the Robins Pacers. The marathon and half marathon courses are USATF certified and the races are chip timed. Get a group of 10 to register together and everyone gets $3 off. Part of the Macon Tracks OrthoGeorgia Race Series and the Run & See Georgia Grand Prix.

The Gauntlet Sergeant will have athletes participating in running/rucking miles of wooded trails, carrying heavy, sometimes awkward objects, competing in time trials, and often times participating in group activities where teamwork is a necessity. Athletes who finish The Gauntlet Sergeant will have been tested physically, mentally and spiritually for a fraction of the time a Guantlet Endurance Racer endures.

Go for Red 5K Macon, 9:30 AM - January 28, 2016 This race to raise awareness of heart disease is organized by the Charity Benevolent Fund. It will be held at the Ocmulgee National Monument. Race proceeds will be used to provide free health screenings in the community. Please check with them on Facebook for updates



Cantrell Center Run to Lose 5K & Fun Run Warner Robins, 8:30 AM—February 25, 2017 This 9th annual race is sponsored by the Cantrell Center for Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine and proceeds benefit the Children’s Miracle Network. There will be chip timing and the course is USATF certified. There are cash prizes for the top 3 overall and 1st master winners. It’s a Run and See Georgia Grand Prix race and also part of the Macon Tracks OrthoGeorgia Race Series. From the race organizers: Never done a 5K before? No problem!! The heart of our run/walk event is for the first-timer. Our target audience is those who would never dream of participating in a 5K. Why? Because we want to see the Cantrell Center Run to Lose 5K & Fun Run used as starting point to beginning a healthier lifestyle. Already done a 5K? Great! Join us again this year. Nothing motivates first-timers more than seeing the example you set. Walk or Run, but GET MOVING, Middle Georgia!!

Cherry Blossom Road Race 5K, 10K, and 1 Mile Macon, 9:00 AM—March 18, 2017 Held during the Cherry Blossom Festival, this race is organized by Macon Tracks member Tom Adrien to benefit Wesley Glen Ministries, an organization that serves adults with mental disabilities. The course will start at Howard Middle School and will be an out-and-back among the horse farms and estates along Rivoli Drive. There will be inflatables, face painting, sno cones, and other fun stuff for the kids. The race is part of the Macon Tracks OrthoGeorgia Race Series, and the Run & See Georgia Grand Prix.


8th Annual Central Georgia's Strongest Man Contest! Saturday March 18th 2017 USS GA State Chairmen and National Champion couple, Greg and Nicole Fields, are hosting another competitor and family friendly contest in Macon, GA. There will be 5 events: Log Press: Log Clean and press for reps. clean each rep. 60 second time limit - Belts, elbow/wrist sleeves, grip shirts and wrist wraps allowed Car Dead Lift: Men and women will lift same small vehicle. Weight and height will be adjusted for different classes.Vehicle, height and weight for classes TBD. Tire Flip: 60 second time limit. 10 flips Farmers/Sandbag Medley: Farmers/Sandbag medley. 90 second time limit. Framers and sandbag start at same end. Carry farmers 50ft., then run back to start pickup sandbag and carry 50ft., then carry farmers 50ft back to the start.
