GLASS NEWS INTERVIEW: FENSA
The UK’s Leading Glass & Glazing Newspaper
WATCH CHRIS BEEDEL’S DEFENCE AGAINST CRITICISM OF FENSA AND HIS THOUGHTS ON THE GREEN HOMES GRANT AND THE ORGANISATION’S ROLE, GOING FORWARD FENSA has come in for some stick from some quarters. Has it taken a leading role in keeping their members well informed during the Covid crisis? Should they have done more? Indeed, just what have they done during this lockdown period and as we emerge into the recovery stage?
Catching up with Chris Beedel, FENSA’s Director of Membership, Glass News’ Editor Chris Champion had the opportunity to put a variety of questions to Chris and he, in turn, vehemently defends FENSA and puts the record straight. Beedel, having been at FENSA for some three years, is asked about his background prior to joining and whether it was good timing, or not, bearing in mind the changes in the organisation over that time and the obstacles that they have been forced to face. He also talks about the Green Homes Grant scheme and the issues around implementing what many would say is a flawed scheme for both homeowners and installers. And where does it go from here and how will the
success, or otherwise, be monitored? There’s lots to be done and the money spent in this financial year, as Chris points out. And has FENSA now become more than a membership and certification organisation? He is also asked about the lockdown and how FENSA’s member installers reacted, what they have done during this time and what it means to their businesses as trading starts again. Now, with businesses back to work, what is FENSA doing to aid members and what are FENSA’s aims for the future? Watch Chris Beedel’s interview and find out the answers to these important questions.
