The Muscanere house at 7943 Santa Elena is the first historic home in Glenbrook Valley to receive a Landmark designation. The following is part of the property's history from the landmark application:

"Construida en 1956, la casa de 5,924 pies cuadradas es estilo moderno elegante del medio siglo con una elevación de enfrente que alcanza 82 pies en un lote doble de 13,800 pies cuadradas, representando la euforia y confidencia en la prominencia emergente de Houston en la nación y el mundo. El perfil sencillo y adelgazado de la estructura con su techo inclinado para abajo, sus aleros voladizos, gabletes cantiléver y chimenea enorme incorporan un elemento del diseño moderno que se encuentra en residencias arquitectónicamente significantes por el país. La elevación de enfrente que se enfrenta al sur y la huella de la fundación en forma de una U con un patio grande a la parte trasera de la propiedad son elementos del diseño indicativo de la herencia siciliana de la familia Muscanere.
