Holiday El juicio de Judging las decoraciones Tuesday Evening, festivas Martes, December 14 14 de diciembre “Tis the season to demonstrate pride in Glenbrook Valley!” All residents are encouraged to decorate their homes for the holiday season. A string of lights or a wreath on every house in Glenbrook Valley would transform our neighborhood into a “wonderland of good cheer.” Please make your contribution to the spirit of the season.

Hay la posibilidad de tener cinco ganadores en cada cateThe Glenbrook Valley Civic Club honors goría. those homes that have been continuous award winners by declaring them to be in El Club Cívico de Glenbrook Valley rethe “Hall of Fame.” To become a member conoce con honor a las residencias que of this elite category requires five con- han sido continuamente ganadoras y éstas secutive years of winning in any of the serán incluidas en el “Hall o categories. Cookie Collection Just a reminder: bring your cookies to the Park Place Library Saturday, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m. to prepare trays for the Houston Police Department and Houston Fire Department stations that serve Glenbrook Valley. It’s a small way to say “thank you for a job well done!”

Historic Designation Update The Houston Architectural and Historic Commission unanimously approved Glenbrook Valley's application for Historic Designation. The next step is a hearing before the Planning Commission and finally Houston City Council. Glenbrook Valley will be a Historic Neighborhood. The unknown at this time is how much of the neighborhood will be in the protected Historic District.

COP

C.O.P. Report by Hazel Carney, Coordinator

We want to thank all of our friends and neighbors who have kept their eyes and ears open and have alerted Glenbrook Valley COP and/or HPD of what is happening in our neighborhood. Thanks to you all this is a safer neighborhood. We also want to acknowledge and thank Sgt. Baltazar, Officer Harris, Officer Sanchez, Officer Montoya, Officer Wiggins and all of the HPD officers from the Mykawa Substation for their help and cooperation in keeping Glenbrook Valley safe. WE hope everyone has a safe and happy Holiday Season and prosperous New Year! As a shopping caution, please make sure that if you are paying with a debit or credit card that you check your receipt before you leave the cashier. It has been brought to our attention that there is a new scam wherein a clerk will charge a customer with a "cash back" even if they did not ask or authorize it. More often than not, when this unauthorized charge is discovered, the clerk will blame it on the register and will either pocket the cash back or pass it on to an accomplice. If you discover this happening, report it to the store manager immediately!

Recycling Christmas trees... For the past several years the City of Houston has provided locations throughout the City where we can take our Christmas trees to be recycled, thus saving our landfills. These locations are always listed in the newspaper after the holidays... worthwhile keeping in mind as we start cleaning up and packing away until next year.
