Annual Membership Drive Please do your part….All Glenbrook Valley residents should have received their membership mailer reminding you that it is time to pay the 2017 annual membership fee. The fee is only $35.00 a year, or for seniors $25.00, with an over 65 Homestead Exemption on the Harris County Appraisal District records! If you can’t volunteer, or even attend meetings, you are still a vital part of the organization just by simply sending in your membership fee.

Your membership provides monthly newsletters mailed to all homes, rental fees for building use for all meetings or gatherings and enforcement of deed restrictions. One of the most important jobs of the civic club is keeping you informed about things that affect our neighborhood.

Home Maintenance We all probably have work to do on the outside of our home and yard! This is the time of year to inventory what needs to be done to keep your house in good repair.

It is the responsibility of the property owner to make necessary repairs. Routine maintenance saves you money in the long run. Keeping the house painted helps prevent rotting of the fascia boards.

The majority of your homes are 50 years plus old, which means they've endure much weather.

They may need a lot of work.

Routine maintenance does not require either a permit or C of A. If you're unsure work needs a permit or Certificate of Appropriateness, call the Historic Preservation Department at 832-393-6556.

Start now planning improvements for your yard. Then you'll be ready to get started when the "real" spring gets here! Keeping yards mowed, sidewalks and curbs edged, shrubs trimmed and flower beds weeded is a lot of work, but when you admire your work from across the street, it's worth it!

There were 33 sales on MLS for the year, compared to 26 the prior year (2015). The median sales price per square foot ended up being $86.96 compared to $65.85 for last year. Average days on market was about 45 days. Sales prices ranged from a low of $65,000 to $384,000. 2016 median sales price was $158,500. Average Sales price $193,522. 2015 median was $133,900 and average was $162,662.

Three sales out of the 33 were foreclosures, the same number as last year. There were 26 sales in 2015.
