Political Signs Political signs may not be placed in yards until August 5. GBV deed restrictions prohibit signs in our yards. State law provides for political signs to be placed in the yard 90 days prior to the election, with removal required 10 days after the election.
Don't Mess With the Hood Glenbrook Valley is a neighborhood that believes in preserving its residential beauty. We don't live in a parking lot! That is why we opted into the Prohibited Yard Parking ordinance the city enacted several years ago. Violators can be issued citations for each occurrence, daily if necessary. Some think, "So what, I'm going to do what I want." They ignore the fine. Bad decision. An ignored citation will result in an arrest warrant. What are the chances that the person that disrespects the neighborhood where they live won't violate another law? With any stop made by city, county, or state officials, a search is conducted for outstanding warrants. Guess what? You win a journey through the court system. We get many calls reporting violators from neighbors that see "a yard parker." Neighbors don't like streets "trashed out" (which is a mild, polite quote from some of the ones we hear.) The easiest way to report a violation is to email HPD at www.hpdsoutheast.com. On the right hand side under "Forms," select "Neighborhood Complaint Form," type in the address, from the pull down menu select "Yard parking," if there is some-
