The most commonly asked question is, “Will my taxes be increased?” The answer is unequivocally “NO!” The Historic Designation is bestowed by the City of Houston. Taxes are assessed by the Harris County Appraisal District. The two are not connected. The designation will make our neighborhood more attractive! It will help us retain its character. Think about it; we’re an important part of Houston’s history.
