Update, 60" Water Line Projected start time for the invading 60" transport waterline is "later this year." The line will start at Airport Blvd., go north to Rockhill, then west on Rockhill to Glen Valley. At Glen Valley it turns north. It will go north to Santa Elena where it will turn west. West on Santa Elena to the half block of DeLeon to Colgate. North on Colgate to Sims Bayou then join an existing transport line on Dixie.

At one point we were told that it would be a 2 phase project to be done simultaneously. One would start at Airport Blvd. and the second at Glen Valley. Our consolation prize for the inconvenience will be the total rebuild, including infrastructure, of Glen Valley.

At one of the Civic Club's recent meetings, a neighbor brought up the possibility of foundation damage to homes from the vibrations of the heavy equipment.

We have no way of knowing whether the anticipated vibration will have any effect on homes in the area, and the Civil Club is not taking a position one way or another. As a practical matter, if you are concerned with the possibility of vibrations causing damage to your home, you should have your home inspected by a licensed foundation professional or structural engineer, prior to the start of the Water Line project. Be sure to obtain a written report from the professional.

Once the Water Line project has been completed, if you suspect that damage to your home has occurred, you would need to obtain a (second) inspection, also from a professional, and obtain a second re-

The minimum fine for parking a vehicle on the yard is $150.00 per day. If the vehicle parked on the yard does not belong to the property owner, the vehicle owner and the property owner may both be cited. Citations can be issued daily. Failure to appear causes an arrest warrant to be issued.

Yards used as parking lots diminish the property values of all properties in that area of the neighborhood.

Should you decide to have a garage sale, please remember that you may have two (2) garage sales in a 12 month period. Items in a garage sale are "used," not new merchandise.

The third sale at an address of a taxable items within a twelve month period will result in your classification as a retailer. Since our deed restrictions prohibit the commercial use of property, your classification as a retailer would result in a violation of the deed restrictions.

March is generally the month for azaleas! It’s unfortunate that their blooming period is so short. Glenbrook Valley Civic Club will recognize outstanding azalea gardens in our next newsletter. Since the blooming varies from bush to bush, and the weather is unpredictable, there is no set date for recognition. The "bloom" will be the determiner.
