Your Biggest Investment For many folks in our community, our home is our biggest investment. It represents a large portion of our financial net worth. None us bought our homes with the idea of losing money, but that’s what can happen when bad “curb appeal” is allowed to grow in Glenbrook Valley.

“Curb appeal” is a term used to describe the overall appearance of a home, street and ultimately the neighborhood. Good curb appeal includes lawns mowed & edged regularly, proper watering and fertilizing, shrubs pruned, no cars parked on the lawn, houses “kept up,” properly maintained with no peeling paint or rotten wood exposed, etc. When the curb appeal is good, property values rise, but when it is bad, property values stagnate or can even decline. If you receive a letter requesting corrective action, please take the time to correct the problem(s) and realize how important it is to help keep the neighborhood an attractive place to call home.

Glenbrook Valley has received a mountain of positive press in re-

cent years. Scenic Houston is pouring over seven million dollars in landscaping improvements along Broadway, with the Airport System making additional improvements along Airport Boulevard. Hobby has improved and expanded with International service. Millions have been slated to convert the old Glenbrook golf course across the freeway into a world-class botanical garden. The Hobby area now has a management district that will help address some of the issues in the surrounding commercial areas. Glenbrook Valley is better positioned now than in a very long time to become a much more desirable and valuable investment. Now more than ever it is important for everyone to do their part to help keep up the appearance and values in our neighborhood.
