Concerned citizens brought several issues that were important to their community to the attention of Crime Stoppers of Houston last year. As a result, several new and aggressiv e camp ai gns were launched to raise awareness about those issues. These campaigns included Anti-Dog Fighting/ Animal Cruelty, Illegal Dumping, Antigraffiti and Insurance Fraud. In addition to these campaign, Crime Stoppers continued their annual campaign to protect our children with the "School's Out: Keep Our Kids Safe" campaign in June that highlighted felons wanted for victimizing children. The month of October was once again used to raise awareness about Domestic Violence by featuring felons wanted for victimizing their intimate partners. Through our strong media partnership, these issues were brought to the community's attention and the community responded by calling in with the location of these dangerous felons.

Glenbrook Hosts National Tour Day Oct 9th Glenbrook Valley is the site of a home tour by local preservation group Houston Mod and international architectural organization DOCOMOMO. Founded in 1988, DOCOMOMO stands for the DOcumentation and COnservation of buildings, sites and neighborhoods of the MOdernMOvement. DOCOMOMO promotes the study, interpretation, and protection of the architecture, landscape, and urban design of the Modern Movement.

DOCOMOMO has chapters or working parties in 54 countries and over 2,000 individual members.

The fourth Annual DOCOMOMO US Tour Day will include more than twenty modern architecture tours throughout the United States.

DOCOMOMO US, in collaboration with select local preservation organizations, will highlight significant buildings, sites, and neighborhoods of the Modern Movement with tours throughout the United States. This is the first time Houston will be participating in the tour program and they have partnered with Houston Mod for this event.

Houston Mod advocates the preservation of this cultural legacy and seeks support from its members and the general public in achieving this goal.
