Well done to everyone that took part in the Main School Sports Day today. It was so good to see you all there and the girls did exceptionally well.

Thank you to everyone who has bought Godstowe Rocks tickets, which is now a sell out. Tokens for the stalls can still be purchased - read the FOG news below for more.

The Fourths are off to Calshot next week and I hope this fantastic weather holds out for them - although I’m sure they’ll all have a great time whatever the weather!

Wishing you a brilliant, sunny weekend. DG

Godstowe Rocks is SOLD OUT! We have sold over 1,000 tickets which is absolutely incredible! There are no more left so please do not turn up on the day if you do not have a ticket. It is part of our licence that this is a ticketed event and we will be spot-checked on the day, so if you don’t have a wristband you will not gain entrance. Thank you to everybody who has bought tickets in anticipation of a fabulously entertaining day, it’s going to be great! Raffle Tickets There are lots of spare raffle tickets at the Reception desk in Main School so if you would like to buy some more, or take some to sell to family, friends and neighbours, then please do. There was a bit of a hiccup on our part in that 2 booklets should have gone out in prep bags before half term, but only 1 booklet made it! Now, I know some of you will be delighted about this (!) but I have been asked by several people where they can source more. We have some great prizes and they are all up for grabs at just £1 a ticket. So please do contact Reception if you are able to take more tickets, thank you so much.

Collection of Tickets and Tokens Ticket holders can now collect their packs from Main Reception between 08h25-08h45 and 16h00-16h30. Please be aware that you need to sign for them so that we have a record. I cannot stress enough how important it is to read the enclosed information and to share the pertinent points with your children, particularly the Lost Child point, First Aid station and Evacuation procedures. I am aware I am banging on about it via parent mail too, but we have been granted a licence due, in no small part, to the procedures we have painstakingly put in place. Thanks in advance for taking the time to go through everything.

Returning Library books

Holiday tennis camps

As we approach the end of the school year, all library books are due for return. Please would you have a good look around bedrooms, bookshelves and boarding houses for any books which belong to the Library? You can recognise a library book because they all have a barcode inside the back cover. You are welcome to borrow books for the Summer Holidays as long as all outstanding ones are returned first.

Just under four weeks to the start of the Summer Tennis Camps at Wycombe Abbey School. Five, 5-day camps starting Monday 14th July, and finishing the week of Monday 11th August. Full details are on the website www.thecoachacademy.org.uk, under the tab Not Just Tennis.

Hogwarts comes to Godstowe Other useful dates 23rd-27th June: IVs trip to Calshot 24th June: U12 VIII trip to Wimbledon 27th June: School Induction Day

Pupils from Hannah Ball School in High Wycombe came to visit Godstowe this week as part of their Science Week. The boys and girls (from Years 4 and 5) were treated to a Hogwarts Science class, led by Alison Pana, professor of charms and potions, Rosemary Jordan, professor of the dark arts, and Fiona Ball, professor of transfigeration and flying. They were shown all sorts of experiments in the science lab, including the Hogwarts Pop and Hogwarts Bang. Afterwards they visited the Hogwarts tuckshop and made their own sherbert, before enjoying lunch in the dining room. Mrs Pana and the Upper Thirds decorated the entrance to the science lab to create a magical atmosphere in fitting with Hogwarts - the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Harry Potter books and films. Great fun was had by all!

Poems of the week My Dad By Olivia Brown

My Mum By Hannah Gibbons

My Elder Sister Millie By Josie Jackson

My dad is a big bold teddy bear ready for a tickle fight

My sister Millie is a hairy scary librarian She is a tortoise ever wanting perfection

He is the mayo to my fries a big blob on top

My sister Millie is a snake slithering and sliding into her room to read She is a book worm eating up all the pages

He is a weekend treat when he brings us back presents My dad is my hero in a red cape and tights

My sister is athena’s owl of wisdom She is as old fashioned as the dinosaurs My sister Millie is a gorilla protective of her room Her death stare will turn you into dust

He is a blubbery blue whale in the crystal clear sea water And lastly he is the BEST dad anyone could ever wish for

My sister Millie shoots her pray like in catching fire She will entant you with her flute and lyre

My mum is a smile, Infectious and makes me smile too. She is a cookbook. Marvellous meals. Burnt toast is her specialty. My mum is a horse, Always on the go, yet tireless. Her job is never done. My mum is a rock, A reliable boulder to lean on. She never complains, I know she will always be there. My mum is a tiger-a tiger mum, fierce and protective. With her I feel safe. Secretly I am glad because I love my mum.

My Little Sister Abby By Jesse Welsh My sister is a beautiful diamond, sparkling brightly in the sun. She is a bombshell, tearing the house apart in seconds. She is a delicious rich chocolate bar, waiting to be devoured. My sister is a loud alarm bell, forever going off in your ear.

She is a cuddly soft toy, always prepared for a hug. My little sister Abby is an excellent sister, who is always there for me, forever and always. I LOVE ABBY!
