Many thanks indeed to Mrs Reynolds and all of the staff responsible for making last night’s Fourths Post CE Dinner such a resounding success. I thank parents who were also instrumental in helping decorate some of the areas. One of the things we discussed, both afterwards and this morning, was what good company the girls were throughout the evening. It’s such a delight to witness how much they have developed over the years and I am sure they all enjoyed the evening as much as we, the staff, did. Tomorrow, I’m off to Caldicott with 60 girls to enjoy another post CE dinner with boys! This is an annual occasion, which is always great fun.We start with a meal where people actually have to talk to each other
(not texting each other across the table) and then they have a good old fashioned bop afterwards. Cathy and I would like to thank you for your kind messages regarding Teddy (tiny little grandson, although I’m led to believe 7lb12oz is good - what do I know!). He has now been moved from intensive care to a high dependency ward and we are delighted as this represents progress.Things are looking up! Enjoy your weekend. I should remind you to keep a close eye on the calendar and messages from the school as in the summer there are lots of events taking place, some of which can be effected by the weather at short notice. Poems of the week Sailing, by Josephine Millen We sail, as the sky turns yellow and dips into the blue horizon. We sail, as we pass the brown island and the blue water below We sail, as the butterfly fly away one by one peeling off like an orange. We sail, as the sky stays blue and the clouds glow grey. We sail, even when the sky is as dark as night and we can see is black. We don’t stop, as the clouds swing and the night rises in.
Rag Dolls, by Annabel Parkin The little ones are rough. Don’t really play with us, More throw us around Hitting the ground Then stomp off in a huff. The middle ones are playful, They care for us with glee. But Once that bell rings They drop their things Even leaving me! The bigger ones are scared They say we’re all creepy. Just flopping around Never making a sound And jumping out in movies.
