Artwork of the Week

Time rattles on. It occurs to me that we are hard on the heels of an Open Morning which takes place next Saturday the 12th October. Firstly, please may I remind you that all of the Uppers and Fourths are required at school as is always the case for Open Mornings. If anyone really cannot attend then please could this information be submitted in writing to me or to Mrs Kenyon. The girls are always very busy and generally very much enjoy Open Mornings themselves. This will also be a fabulous opportunity for all of you to come and see the Sports Hall and the Theatre, both recently completed. Everyone

here is really excited about these wonderful facilities and we want to share them with you next Saturday. Please do your best, as ever, to persuade others to come and see the school. It is always your recommendation that is so much appreciated by Godstowe. It might interest you to know that our list of pre-booked people proposing to visit Open Morning is already over 40. Many others appear on spec. I look forward to seeing some of you tomorrow at St Barts. Have a good weekend. DG

Lodgenews

Mrs Wylie

Kindergarten had an enjoyable and productive visit to Hughenden Manor. They explored the woods and identified and named a number of different species of plants and fungi. They were introduced to various Victorian artefacts found in a typical home. Nursery thoroughly enjoyed their playtime on the castle this week. They have made harvest soup and have been practising their songs for the Harvest Festival next Friday.

Friendsnews

Please may we ask that if your child’s hair is below their shoulder that it is tied up and away from their faces. This is especially important for PE lessons. We are looking forward to our very busy Book Week next week. The competition to ‘Illustrate your favourite Fairy Tale Character’ will be sent home this afternoon in your child’s prep bag.

They are available in a whole array of colours and sizes, from 3-4yrs right the way through to XXL. Prices start from £16 and this year we have a convenient online order form, one for day pupils and one for boarders, which have been really well received by parents who have used it this week. Here are the links to the order forms again:
